Having a specialty in a low level unit makes a very big difference in the beginning, and even later on in the game. It especially makes a difference in the beginning if it's a shooter (and it is), and besides, I just like shooters. 'Cuase Haggash has centaurs, doesn't he?

also haggash is the only (?) hero with creature specialisation who not only boosts att/def but init too, and centaurs acting before some highdmg dealers kicks ass

Ranged creature specialists all dominate, so for Stronghold: Haggash. The initiative bonus dominates even harder. It's double hard domination, or DHD.

But how the garuna ability works? for every stack or the number of enemy killed units?
if I kill 1000 paesants on lvl 21 I'll take something like 3000atk + ?

As far as I know, all your creatures receive a +3 Bonus.
(21:6 meaning 18:6 = 3)
The number of killed units does not matter.

Yes the number of creatures doesn't matter, just how many stacks.
As for best..there are a lot of great ones. Telsek (spelling), Haggash, and Kraugh are about tied for my favorites. Haggash not only boosts the Centaurs (always a good thing) but has the easies path to Triple Flaming Balista. Makes early creeping a bit easier.
Kraugh with Stunning blow and Powerful blow can be quite effective, and Telsek boost one of the less useful (overall) units in stronghold. None of the heroes are really useless perse, however. Even the 'goblin guy' has a easier route to the ultimate..

Some nicely tuned Warmongers from a high level Telsek can prove to be the best (and often the LAST unit standing) in the battlefield.

with Telsek I find Maulers passably durable to the point of making me think twice before picking Warmongers. And their damage is simply over the top it's a shame you never see them with lvl2 Rage bonus which gives them +3 damage

Maulers + Telsek is a nice combo, the only side that bothers me is exactly the fact that Maulers are not durable. As soon as the opponent knows you are using Telsek, they are going to be a primary target, They rarely stay long enough to cause real trouble. But if you assure they survive long enough for their rage to reach high levels, they pose a VERY serious threat.
I normally pick Wanrmongers because thats like the "safe pick"

haggash with centaures
coz haggash ads 1% initiative to all centauresand 1 attack and defense
thirdly haggash has alot of centaures at the beginning which will help you in your capturing of mines and killing neutral creatures
and in the late game the centaures will be a deadly creature in the barbarian army

Telsek with Maulers is normally a bad idea. A good frenzy or PM..and those Maulers can DESTROY your other troops...just a word of caution.

Actually I wonder how Haggash didn't get nerfed since other heroes like Deleb or Wyngaal got nerfed in patches.
