ICTC 5: Spire

Spire
"Meet me at the end of the horn when the moon become full for the fourth time after I leave." Grimstein reflected his brothers last word. Halstein, his brother, had left for a secret mission from the king, and he was going to. He didn't know more, it was supposed to be a secret, but his brother had told him. He heard the water crush to the cliff were the most northern point of Grimheim met the Sea of shadows, the heaven was dark. Grimstein sat down and listened. Listened to the beauty of the ocean. The most beautiful thing he had heard in a long time. The war had lasted at least 200 years, it all began with some Dark Messiah ages ago, but Grimstein didn't know much about the details, all he knew was that races had betrayed each other, forged peace with one another, and then betrayed them again. Halstein was glad that were more or less finished by now. Lands had been conquerred, and the demons lived now in Ashan. They didn't seem so bad as books of the old made them, though they were brutal.

Halstein then saw some ships in the horizon. They came fast against him, too fast in fact. He had never seen so fast ships before. And when he saw the ships, they were different. Long they were, with heads of dragons on their sterns, and much lower than normal ships. And then he saw them. Blue men, and walking bears and wolfs. And swimming dragons, without wings. Halstein was afraid, when suddenly a wolf jumped down in the water, and began swimming to the coast. Halstein began to run, but it was far too late. The wolf soon catched up with him, and bit him, but then the wolf leaved him, leaving a bad bit in his arm. Within too long, Halstein felt a rage taking over him. He began to grow fur, fast, and then his wis left him.

Introduction
H6 will be set 200 years after Sareth (DM) released the demons from Sheogh. The wars raged for many years, it was several years of peace now and then, but the peace were fragile, and would break out after a few years again, and people lost fate in their gods and made new ones as old races perished. The portals to Sheogh have been destroyed, and no demons can travel from Sheogh to Ashan anymore (not even under Eclipses), but before that happened, the demons got a good holdfast in Ashan, and don't follow Urgash anymore.

The green dragons of the woods have been exterminated, the dark elves met an unfortunate end when their own slaves revolted when the DE tried to rebuild, the orcs were scattered in tribes. The silver cities were destroyed, and joined the humans, which later fought many civil wars. Races from other continents have come to Ashan, such as Avians, Feline beasts, etc.

H6 vanilla would be mostly to keep the peace, minor conflicts and battles between different factions, etc.

New features in battle in H6 that battles will change between day and night (affects several creatures, spells and abilities). The time of day depends upon how much movement the attacking hero have left. Big battles may also last over several turns (a lot of turns in battle).

The Frostlings are introduced in the first expansion pack, The Heart of the North. The Forstlings are traveling south to expand, destroying the fragile peace of the native races of Ashan.
