Heya, need ideas for HOMM tattoo
Hi I am not sure if this is the right section to post this topic, but I'll give it a shot.
I have been thinking about a tattoo for a long time now, and I decided it should be something that has been an important part of my life. I grew up with HoMM 2 and 3, so I decided it should be on that topic. But I need ideas, sadly. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Tattoo will go on my back, backside of shoulder or ankle and will be black&white.

Why don't you go with your favorite creature from the games? Or something that symbolizes the whole series, something thats been around for a long time(Black Dragons, Titans, Sandro etc.) Pick a creature that someway resembles you.
If I would take one I'd probably go with something from Heroes 3 because the overall design is just something awesome. Probably something from Fortress or Necropolis towns. Especially Fortress creatures look mean. My friend says that I look like the basilisk with it's wicked grin. I took that as a compliment.

I'm guessing you're a ladeh, I'd say go with a sprite or a pixie, they have been around in both. A Sprite from HOMM3 would look really awesome, but in colour!
Why do you want to go with black and white anyways?
I got my ink done about 2 years ago and all I can say is make sure it's something you would like to look at in 10 years time. For eg. I wanted to get a tribal at first, but I'm also quite into business so I'd look like a real toffee with a tribal in that kind of atmosphere, even if people didn't see it, it just wouldn't suit me. So I got something that meant alot to me, a cross to resemble my new found faith and forgiveness, basicly forgiving myself for a dark past, it just serves as a reminder of where I've been and where I want to go. And an infinity sign around the cross to symbolize eternity, I want to live on forever. I just can't come to terms with dissapearing from all existence someday. Everyone has their own story so maybe a pixie would suit your fun / mysterious personality? Only you can say.
So there you have it, all I can say is pick something you wont mind looking at in 10 / 20 years time and try find some meaning to it. It helps you come to terms with whatever image you choose as the right one for you.

Oh and diff tattoo artists have diff methods of tending to the wound than others.
I went to the best tattoo artist in the country and it was a 1 hour drive to get there in major traffic. Lets face it if you are going to burn an image onto your body for life you want it done right.
Dont wrap your tatt in shrink wrap. It's an open wound and it needs to breathe. We put a very basic dressing of kitchen towel on mine for the first hour. After that get some Preperation H or St Johns nipple cream from your local chemist. It sounds lame to use hemorrhoid cream but conventional skin creams usually contain vitamine E and other chemicals that can damage your ink. I used Preperation H. After you have taken the dressing off after 1 hour, just apply some Prep H and there after put some on morning and night and your skin will heal really fast. After about 4 days my skin healed with no scabs and no interference with the ink and it actually came out soft as a babies arse.

Rust Dragon or eventually Crystal or Azure.
Medusa's head is great too not only for the heroes world but generally too. Woman with snakes on her head and mystic eyes is a badass tatoo.
Some of the dungeon simbols I believe would also make a great skin art.
Griffin is also very good choice.
To sum it up, it all depends on what you like most if I would be doing a tatoo it would be some of these choices.

I see this is an old post but just in case. Did you get your Tattoo?
Rather than toss out design, I'd rather share some 'mind-sprinkles' on getting you to create something satisying from yourself. I mean, it will be like adding another eye-brow, better be really-good
When I want to 'create' (I like to write, jam and draw} I want to pull together all resource material. Like making a cake, getting all the ingredients (flour sugar, kitchen-tools etc.) out on the counter before the mixing begins. let alone the baking.
Get out your Heroes III box and manual and go through it with pen and paper in hand , making notes of what you like. Descriptions, words,word-images or pics. Do the same with the game itself, play a game but observe the artwork etc. i.e. If it were windows , your tat could be a start-button
You said; 'you grew up with it' Well. go there with pad in hand. brainstorm your memories your first victory etc.! Now you've got a soup to sip from. Couple of good ideas or one that's already been done?...combine ideas and take it to a tatooist that is also an artist. Most thrive on this stuff. Blaze your own trail
