Hey, I was the one who linked this gif on TL!
Storm-Giant said: 10P 9T 9Z for WCS Challenger, Europe region
And so far, AM region is 5P 5T and 6Z.
I would say that overall balance right now is quite nice even though some of the games definitely show major balance and design flaws.
Also, with current system we saw resurrection of the foreign scene, a ton of players I've never even heard of, Korean scene is also very good with 3 big tournaments right now and some old players getting back to the scene and doing better and better(Leenock, Super, Curious, Gumibro etc.), I am quite happy.
Can't wait for LotV, I really think that the scene will be better after it.

True, true. But you forgot to mention the comeback of foreign drama, with Naniwa on top of it

I still have my doubts in the long run, but it should boost the scene more and far longer than HotS, mainly due to the economic changes (which aren't massive, but will probably force a huge rework of the current meta & builds).
Usually Blizzard only dares to make many, significant changes during beta testing, so there's where we should have our eyes set on. Good or bad, only time will tell...
Edit: WCS Challenger matches to be announced tomorrow!

Foreign drama with or without Nani was just a matter of time, since Koreans aren't playing in those regions anymore(well, there are still few of them, but not much).
Flaming and accusing has begun, and this is only a start. Foreign community is just one giant sh*thole, and not just in this game. Before this, they couldn't really flame and accuse Koreans of anything(except for stealing their tournaments and money, which came from Nerchio and Goswser ROFL) because they are simply better in this game and have different mindset.
But now, when you get beaten by a player that you don't really respect and like with your autistic ego, the flaming is only the beginning, then the accusations of cheating, hacking, match-fixing etc. come along.
Funny thing, these dramas are actually attracting a lot of viewers, for better or for worse, the community is growing again.

Is yet to be official
IEM Taipei groups. A shame that INnoVation cancelled his spot, but Classic is a solid replacement. The tournament is stacked since the Open Bracket, should be a lot of fun~
Lots of potential rematches too! Only from the announced groups we can have: Polt - herO, Rain - Classic, ForGG - Life, Maru - PartinG

Well, I don't know what is the rumor, so I don't know what you are talking about.
Yeah, that IEM looks great. A ton of great players, a lot of Zergs in the open bracket, but that just means that thing will probably be balanced out in the end since groups are lacking Zergs a bit.
Cam't wait the end of January.

I mean on WCS Challenger, Europe region - Naniwa and Nerchio would be paired for a Premier spot. I think Kas mentioned it
And yes, IEM Taipei should have a great racial distribution at group stage
Edit: WCS Challenger, Europe region matches announced. Nerchio vs Naniwa confirmed

Because he gave some juicy points here and there, for a small price. Hell, he even won an ACE match!
Speaking of San, Betting site Pinnacle says bets on the Proleague match of Dark vs. San have been voided due to match fixing concerns
And 'unrelated' to this, EffOrt claims that his main reason for his SC2 retirement was match-fixing accusations from his own team. So much snow in Korea...

It seems that drama from the west scene grew out of control and infected our Korean scene.
EDIT: Dayum! Blizzard changing Raven's and Swarm Hosts(!!!) before the beta of LotV! I love this!
I really hope that they work out in these aggressive pushes though, I like the design a lot more than their current one. Can't wait to see some top players try this out.

They are releasing test map(like all those for the previous patches) in the end of this week, or start of the next.
And they have said that this needs to be tested a lot, and probably are going to adjust other races as well for balance reasons. I think that they are surely going to change them judging from all of this.

They're showing willingness to change them, sure, but they could also end together with the last WM nerf in the void of nothingness. At this point I'm an unbeliever of Blizzard, until I see them changed I won't think of it as a reality
Edit: new SH stats. 30 sec window between cycles, wow. So much room for punish them.
Also they exchanged the mineral-gas cost (100/200 instead of 200/100), so losing them is going to be much more costy. And they take up more supply too, ouch!
To compensate that, now locust have even more DPS, and with extra life (time) span each wave has the potential of dealing massive damage...but I don't expect to see SHs as the main body of the Zerg army, the time between cycles seems too high. A small group of SHs seems perfect to harass obliterate everything on their path though

I like the design so much more. Also they don't need to burrow to launch locusts. A major problem will rise against Air Toss + High Templars though. Army which Zerg can't defeat in straight up engagement but have to slowly pick apart. Without being able to zone out Templars with SH the Vipers aren't gonna get anywhere near the "ball of death". I hope they make that invincible boring to watch Air style obsolete along with the SH.

The only thing I really dislike is increasing the supply cost to 4... So for 5 SHs I need 20 supply? That is stupid, especially because they are useless on their own when Locusts are on cooldown.
Hopefully they will get it back to 3.
