H3 WoG Map in Progress - Questions
Hi all,
I've been putting some effort into building my own XL map and would like to hear some opinions/observations on a few points, as I go on in this difficult quest.
I am planning on 8 factions - 5 topsiders, 3 underground (not teams) and very few heroes / town (2-3 specific heroes max, each faction with up to 2 towns):
1) At some point, some 'classic' confrontations will occur (such as: Tower x Dungeon; Castle x Inferno; Fortress x Stronghold; Rampart x Necro)... Would you rather see these happen earliER or latER? In other words, would you rather see the possibility that these 'natural enemies' have more chance of meeting *before* facing others or *after* (or dont care)?
2) I am trying to make it, so a specific 'power' area in the game is covetted by all, as it would offer things like:
- a unique XP & skill -boost event;
- access to Epic Dragons;
- the only obelisk in all lands;
- the only 3 types of cartographers in all lands;
- an extra town (conflux);
- an extra powerful heroin who is imprisoned;
- Utopia
Access to each would be easiER to one or two factions, that would possibly meet on their quest. Would you rather have ALL of such areas equally available to ALL, instead (access can be made easier by placing appropriate 'gate boarders' tents to specific factions...)?
3) I'd like to use as much of what H3 offers as possible, but one thing I do very badly is 'sea adventure stuff'. I'd love to offer the possibility of sea exploration (and reward those who invested in Navigation), but I've been finding it very hard to accomodate several things, such as : the fact that you have 5 factions on top, having some dillemmas like to go explore the sea to seize those greater prizes but leaving the lands less protected... The only thing I came up with is the 'power' area is an island in a central sea / lake (with few landing options, it could take quite a while for those without Navigation skill). In summary, do you think it sucks not having a moderate area of sea area to explore?
Spells/uber-artifacts are disabled (no fly, portal, ware walk, Bow of Sharpshooter, etc...).
That's it for now. And if this is not the appropriate forum, pls let me know, coz I tried finding it and could not.

1) Late in the game, when all the opponents have fully developed skills and armies.
2) Those sound like serious game breakers.
3) An optional sea quest sounds interesting. You could also reward the Navigation skill with ERM.

Thank you for your remakrs !
I was thinking of 'something special' for the bolder, more adventurous heroes, when coming up with the central island... not that all the boni should really be available to any hero, but still idea in progress.
Thx
