Buglist - post your bugs here
So i installed the latest scriptupdate and got rid of the bug where your henchman dies when healed by the tent (very annoying).
Now with the scriptupdate i find that infernos castlegate is treated as warmachine building so travleing between infernos isnīt possible anymore.
Well anyways Iīve been lurking in the forum for some time now and people report bugs scattered over all threads so i think we should have
a theard ONLY focusing on bugs.

Iīve found out that all buildīs: RoE AB SoD WOG nearly all Chronicles exe s can be patched with the 32-patch.(made by some wonderful dude)
so the game can be played in a window instead of fullscreen. F4 toggles windowed/fullscreen
That good cuz u can do other stuff while waiting for the computer to finish its turn. The game runs when the gamewindow is inactive.
In fullscreen its seems that you have to "babysit" the game during the computers turn cuz leaving the gamescreen with alt-tabb halts the game.
Only flaw seems to be that so dialogs sometimes (random?)doesīnt draw correctly. Mostly commander upgrade window. Options can be seen however if you know where they are and move mouse over them then they become visible. Use enter to "make your choice" since you cant see properly and the window goes away.
Another graphic glitch is in creature stack experince window. If you rightclick and empty warbannerbox the descriptions come up normal but closes as a glitch. Also here use enter to close it down
EDIT. these two glitches apear in the patched windowed WOG. i dont know about fullscreen cuz i mostly always use windowed play

I have never had these bugs . Both Commander upgrade screen and stack experience screen should work. I've played months in windowed mode, too, but never had these glitches. I've also recently played with the fullscreen mode, and no problems, except that sometimes, in the town screen, when I click a hero or a creature, the game crashes. Other than that, no issues for me..

Mage's Guild bug? - setting spells
I placed at the wrong forum (again), so here is what is happening with me: If I want Tower guild to show specifically only air spells in the MUST column of editing, and water spells in the MAY appear column, then when i start the WoG scenario the opposite happens! In other words, say i dont choose anything at the MAY column. My guild will always only show empty slots for spells at the guild.
So if I want to have specific spells appearing at the guild, i must place them at the MAY column... And only happens with WoG maps.

I renamed it, placing a '.h3m' at the end of the file's title - it did not work !

Then your map is gone. I was making an XL map couple weeks ago, with ERM Scripts. When I tried to open the map the next day, it said "Invalid or corrupt map file", I had no idea why it didn't work. I did not use any other tools to edit the map's properties or something, I just added my Scripts to the Timed Events (this cannot be the reason). It just didn't want to work, so I had to delete the whole map..

There are a few constraints when creating a wog map. Do not place monoliths exits on x/y=0 column coordinates or game will crash when AI takes it. Do not duplicate objects using Ctr/drag, there is a risk that game does not update the terrain under it and you are screwed. Do not use space bar to change object properties and do not use RMagntt.def/RMagtt.def/RRTeg.def, respectively blue animated 2 ways monoliths, those defs are bugged and will destroy any map. I had also problems with the new sand (Zsand02.def) when copy/paste, it changed to a bugged sphere of permanence and corrupted the map.

Actually I did not use any new objects, just the original ones, didn't place any monoliths anywhere, and I didn't use the Map Editor update which allows to use the space bar.. I have no idea why it didn't work.

I found a .bak file that I changed the name with .h3m and when I opened in the wog map editor I got the same message.
I had no scripts ( i think i dont have a 'script editor...'), got timed events and events (like t he blue balloons), thats all.

Your map is destroyed. The WOG editor has more to offer, but it can destroy maps for unknown reasons. After I lost a map I decided to now make my own copy/backup since the *.bak can get corrupted too.

I would not say that...I worked a lot with WoG editor and tried millions of combinations and objects, the only problems I got were when I did some illegal operation, like Ctrl+drag of used bugged monoliths.
Other that it is 100% stable. Grayface updated his editor a few months ago, and now the terrain under object is updated when you change passability, which was a problem before.
But always make a copy of your map before every changes.

I often backup me own maps, and I never did any of the map-breaking things described before. The file just disappeared from the maps folder, so there is a 0,01% I did that accidentally.
Here is a couple of things I found odd just now:
- I placed a scholar, which gives the hero the Chain Lightning spell only. The three times I tested, he was giving only a primary skill to the hero (hero had a spellbook)... Has this always been so, I mean, in H3 (not just WoG)?
- I placed an event, which gives the hero a primary skill boost, 10 spell points and the CL spell, just to see what happened, hero already has a book... the spell was not added to the book (the rest was ok).
Have u guys experienced that too? Btw, happening with non-WOG map too...
EDIT: the spell in the event was actually Air Shield, so its not a CL bug.

A spell can't be added from Scholar if the Hero has not the appropriate level in Wisdom. It will give instead primary skill. Definitely not a bug.

Why a map 'disappears'
I am really surprised to find out why my map had 'disappeared'...
You all know, when you are working on a text or spreadsheet, sometimes u wanna save ur current work AND keep the original u r working on, so you 'save as'... Meaning, u now have two files: the original and the one u updated or changed significantly.
The map editor does not do that, and now I found it the hard way!
So, to the inexperienced ones (like me, apparently...): whenever you 'save as', thinking u will keep ur original work safe,u r actually DESTROYING it. If u wanna keep ur map safe, make a backup by copy/paste from the maps folder.
Honestly, this is frustrating...
