NCPv1.5 - New commanders, music, sounds and graphic improvements [DOWNLOAD READY]



No introductions this time, let's get dirty !!



FEATURES:
- New commander sprites, all animations, portraits included, crashes alienated. Yes, you can shoot, you sick little sniper.
- Around 50 new sounds from HV. The cool sounding luck spell is here!!, we'll all go "SHHKOOOOO"!!
- Softer battle screen hex grid for those of you who use it, ala Kings Bounty style.
- All new music from HV. Terrain, towns, battles, good, bad (and the Queen ) and neutral campaign, victory, lose, retreat and menu music for WOG and ROE.
- The Pack includes the new hero sprites by Valery and the much needed HD PATCH with the executable to run it with HIII Complete!!

v1.5 FEATURES AND FIXES:
- New Commander for Fortress to fit more it's town.
- Improved adventure map panel.
- New Battlefields (just the ones that look/fit the best)
- New look for Magic Mushrooms and Level 2 and 3 shrines.
- Animated combat and adventure map lakes.
- Improved looks for Hell Hydra, Blood Dragon and Lord of Thunder.
- Music theme for Dungeon and Conflux towns replaced to fit better it's nature.
- Combat hex grid changed from green to yellow (revertable).
- Commanders transparency issues FIXED.
- Pallete conflicts (color corruption) between some commanders when met in battle FIXED.
- HOMM3 HD Patch background color corruption FIXED.


INSTALLATION:
To install V1.5, 1.0 must be installed first, the installation method it's the same for both files. Those who already downloaded the NCP, just download the 1.0 to 1.5 file.

1. Extract all the files where you got HOMMIII Installed, by example C:\Program Files\3DO\Heroes 3 Complete , and replace if asked.
2. Run H3wUpd.exe to install the new content.
3. Run Heroes3HDSetup.exe and choose the resolution for your game, it will create new exe files to play with the new resolutions, h3wog.exe_HD.exe to play WOG or Heroes32.exe_HD.exe to play HIII Complete, by example.
4. Just PLAY using one of the new executables, do shortcuts if you want. Remember, the commanders and the new battlefields only appear in WOG, and only if they are enabled in Wog Options (Commanders are enabled by default but New Battlefields aren't).

- If you don't like one of the new sounds, you can delete it manually on the data folder.
- If you don't like the new hero sprites Valery did a wog file to revert them to the original way, it's also included in the package. Just put it on the update folder and run H3wUpd.exe.
- If you don't like the yellow hexgrid the green one (NCP1.0) is included, just rename CCellgridGREEN.pcx to CCellgrid.pcx
- The commanders are intended to be used along with the HD patch. If you can't use the HD executables for some reason, just use the original executables, but the commanders may not look as good as in HD and the new adventure panel will not work.

Hmmm, let me see... your grove commander will change into the NCP shaman, and the Grove level 8 unit (if there is one, i haven't installed it yet) will change into the NCP Hell Hydra. Also the town music will change into the new Fortress music included here... as you can see those are all kind of aesthetic stuff, so if you can go with it, there will be no problem . Of course, the NCP is intended to run with the regular factions, but aside from what i said above, nothing should happen.

Oh, and by the way, you can always install Grove town again, after installing the NCP, if you like. That way all grove stuff will remain as before and you'll have the NCP stuff too!!.

Hmmm, i don't know what are you talking about , the files in the pack are just ready, the only thing you must do is to enable the new battlefields script in Wog Options, as you can see in the pictures from my own game, it works just like that, you dont' have to do anything else... I'll specify it in the main post anyways.

The aesthetic taste is always personal, but I find that several commanders do not fit at all in the town atmosphere you introduced in.

While I find the succubus, Minotaur, ugly beast/stronghold and Angry tree perfect for their faction, the abomination/necro, Lord of fire/conflux and the werewolf/fortress are out of context in my opinion. And the "swordman girl" is really bad for tower. I prefer Mitabrin's commanders as layout for each faction. The fact is most of those creatures you use were made for very different purpose. Alexander posted several months ago his "HoTA" early creatures and some of them would fit better, like the huge skeleton for necro for example. The tower should have a mage as commander too.

Other that, all other improvements are ok.

You download scripts68 and you do not know how that script work !!! That all. NOT OF ALL battlefields you insert WORK cos they not rename YET, do not INCLUDE them when it not READY



Nope, I downloaded the 3.58f script update where 68 comes, i supossed you had it if not i'll post a link (nah, i know you have it)... and well, regular terrain battlefields works on my experience, consider the others as a gift for you who wants them so much ...
I'm uploading the script update for the new blood anyway.

And about the commanders looks, it's all about tastes as you said, if not, use your imagination, just enjoy things and stuff, be like a kid, bla, bla. The old tower commander was an amazon like woman before too.

xD, man, normal terrains work just like those in the pack grass1 2 3... I don't know about the others if you want them and you know how go ahead and do it, the game works great for me. As you see in the credits most of the stuff is made by a lot of people, i didn't claimed to be a modder, i'm a player and i think yo should be a player too... you just got a serious problem to just enjoy things buddy.

Hey, I love the new set of commanders. I'm actually downloading the patch right now, can't wait! I think you've done a marvelous job with this.

The Angry Tree looks the coolest, I hope HC enables an avatar for that one, as I'll be the first one to change mine to that image.

@Lure, there's a Custom Avatars thread, post your avatar there and after a couple of weeks (or months), the Mage of the Land (the Admin) will upload it, at it'll be avaiable on the avatar list, that's the way I got my Shaman avatar .

Thanks guys . In fact, I did this patch because i had mitabrin's commanders first, but some of them used to crash when shooting, then i did a set using some mitabrin's commanders properly fixed mixed with others like the bone golem from alexander, because the soul eater from mitabrin had a weird arm animation, the problem was that the bone golem used always two hexes, and if scaled it losts it's awesomeness, then i got pissed off and started this patch... i may upload that as an alternative set, if there is more people interested i'll do.
