HOMM 2 Price of Loyalty campaign broken
Hi,
I was looking for a HOMM community and now that I found one I hope there's still some HOMM 2 players out there.
The problem I have is that in the Price of Loyalty campaign's (not referring to the expansion cd, but to the name of one its campaigns) scenario 8 (last scenario) I am unable to finish the scenario. There is one castle left, but when I try to attack it I don't get the sword cursor, but rather it lets me walk to the castle and nothing happens.
Here's a screenshot to clarify it a bit:
As you can see, there's even some monsters there, but there's no way for me to attack the castle.
Obviously I could finish the campaign with some cheat but it would mess up my score and after spending a while playing this I'm very frustrated if it all breaks at the very end.
Oh, and the game version is 2.1 so it is very much patched.

I also have an earlier save where the enemy has another castle and a hero left, but I still can't attack that one castle.
Just wondering if anyone else has ever encountered anything like this.

Yes, looks like it can't be fixed I'm afraid since I encountered it too - apparently a glitch in your savegame (the map itself is fine). I'm really sorry. If you want to end the map and get your final high score anyway just hit "1911" during play, though it will be marked as "Cheater".

Ok, thanks anyway.
I restarted the scenario and went to the castle with debug cheats and I could attack it so it seems that my save files are indeed broken somehow. I just don't understand how that happened or at which point it stopped working properly.
I hope I get enough motivation to finish the other campaigns after this.

The good news is that not too many of the other campaign maps require you to eliminate all enemies, so even if this rare glitch crops up again it won't break your game.
