Lol, I have been reading all the responses and laughing the whole time It's probably only me and my bad luck but I always seem to get those people who won't stop pestering you for a game. First they rudely zoom you for just your handle, points and rank. Then if your to their liking they start zooming you non stop to play them.
First I usually try the polite and try the honest approach of "I am talking to a friend and am not ready to play now.... maybe later " Then if I am lucky they won't start going into their little why won't you play me speech. Others will give me a couple of minutes before they give me the "how about now?" "how about now?" When people do this I can't help but think about the lovely children in the back seat who always say "are we there yet?" "are we there yet?"
Oh well, what can you do but try to be polite (although some people have gone as far as to say screw you then but then theres always that trusty ignore button

well..i dont wanna be on their side but....
dispite my former post, i think this is just a tad harsh on the ones who are just asking for a game.
Most of the time when we are waiting for someone we are not in a room and we are shown as waiting, and not playing, or when we hit resume and exit room. therefor we are looked at as free to play. i can udnerstand the frutration of being asked "game?" or "points?" over and over again, i have been through it myself.
but you have to look at it from their angle too, they are just people looking for a game, you are in the waiting area, they cannot tell just from looking at you are waiting or actually playing a game, not everyone is a mind reader now
i realize that some people could use some manners when asking though. but would someone with manners asking "Hello, would you like to play a game" be dismissed as bugging you just a fast as "game?" if everyone did, i think it would.
anyway, i was tired when a wrote this, so ingore this if it sounds like the ramblings of an idiot.

poor_anfi1...
I never said anything against anyone for asking for a game while i appear to be waiting - my comment was in reference to those who pretty much call me a liar when i say im in a game
It doesn't bug me so muchbeing asked for a game in whatever manner people choose, cuz i find it pretty amusing , and in zone i appear as DeadWeight_Pan, so they likely think im easy points However, what bugs me a TON are the people who seem to have their zone messager programed to send messages in a loop cycling thru all the players listed as 'looking' or'waiting' , the other nite i was in a game and told the same person 6 times that i was in a game!! Every 10 minutes i got the same zone message "Play?" and i will admit, my last reply before turning on DND wasn't the nicest

@edit:
Here is how your average newcommer acts on his first encounter with the zone:
instead of hi: why doesn't this $i!t detects my game(with many variations on these theme, involving more or less curses)
someone tells him that he needs setupreg and gives him the link.
He may/may not say thanx;he may/may not get it right the first time(mostly not)
When he does get ti right first thing he does is gets in a room. Then floods the whole chat screen with:
Join room 7!!!!!!(up to 20 times)
By now he has cut his chances of actually getting a game in half cos half the users already put him in iggy.If he is lucky, there is another newbie in the room and he joins.Just when all seemed to work well,he appears again."Why the heck can't i join??"(ususally in worse forms but i already cursed enough in this post).
Then someone feels pitty for the guy and tells him to check his version or to check if he has a firewall&router.Usually only checking the version is an adventure.Patching cuts in half the number of the newbies willing to play. Not to mention port opening. Some of them are by now aware that they have troubles beyound their power of understanding and quit.
However, some of them suceed. They are now all set to play. They already learned from their previous experience that shouting and asking for a game isn't a good solution, so they try a different aproach: "2 vs 2 game in room 7 ".
I always wondered why first timers on the zone prefer 2 vs 2's.Maybe it's cos they want to see how some older players play, but it would be a too good of a move to be done by a first timer. So it's still a mistery.
The most fortunate case is when they actually finish the game, play reasonable and get along with their opponents. This will lead to them comming back and actually learning something. In a short while they will become friends with some people on the zone and enjoy their games.
As opposed to that, they will drop out of the game cos they do bad ore are scared of their opponent's stats and the next time they show up on the zone they start the same ritual over and over again.
