Where to begin HOMM3
Hi
I have just bought HOMM3 complete. My question to experienced players is which campaign to begin with? I see that SoD is a prequel so should I begin with it or with the original first game campaign?
Also: I believe the AB videos are not included in the complete set. Can they be downloaded?
Also: Can you recommend any guide for a complete noob?
Thanks

If you are a complete newbie to this series, I would recommend to start with the RoE campaigns. Those are very easy and you get used to the units and the way they're used pretty quick.
The SoD campaigns are quite tough and need some experience to handle them, at least if you play them at higher difficulty (160% or 200%).
The best guide is to check out the library (sticky thread "Table of contests") and read through the best threads.

I got it in the Sold Out budget brand in a video rental store here in Dublin for €7. Pretty good value I would say

Yes I think I was lucky
I know you can get it as a digital download but it's nice to have a hard copy. I bought it some months ago not to play at the time but because I knew from reviews how good the games (HOMM3&4) were. I keep an eye on the budget stands in local shops - you never know what will turn up - and buy games I know have good reps. It's just pot luck; but when something good turns up I grab it. Cant go far wrong fo €5-7.
You can probably get a hard copy on Amazon.

from which to begin
Heroes3 complete can be played,...
starting from Restoration Of Erathia.
later missions get coplicated, and i would suggest stop playing scenario when scenario reaches "Commanders Of Hell" scenario.
the most interesting part of this game, is map automatic generator.
new scenarios simply can be generated, so, you get unlimited games.
also you can manually draw maps and scenarios
