The perfect Game
Hi, i'm a big fan of Might and Magic games, and i especially love Dark Messiah.. I enjoy Crysis, and i love the GTA games..
So, here is my question 4 u all:
Does there exist a game that includes Dark Messiahs skill system and another kind of Engine (Source lookalike)
And combines the Graphics and Suit abilities from Crysis (I don't care if is Swords n bows, or guns n grenades)
And combines the violence and opportunities from GTA???
Any game that looks like just one of them, or maybe all of them??
(I really whant something Dark Messiah look a like, but i cannot find it)

Hmm... sounds like you're looking for an open-world fantasy fps-action-rpg.
I'd go with Oblivion. Combat ain't as thrilling as Dark Messiah, neither is the graphics even closely on par with Crysis, but you can mod the hell outta it.
Almost everyone loves Oblivion the first time they play it though, so I'd suggest trying it out before modding Personally I played it for half a year before starting using mods.

Oblivion sucks.
Dark Messiah sucked balls, the combat system was too darned imperfect too.
Crysis is overrated.
Ironically your best shoot is looking down at N64 days or something, there exists a few good games.
But really? You are out of luck :/
At worst case, you could play Mount & Blade: Warband. It got nice melee, a working skill system, and its basically "kill kill kill" that makes people play it

Quote: Oblivion sucks.
Even without mods Oblivion is still a very good game imo. I've honestly never met a non-morrowind-hardcore-fan who hasn't loved it at first.
Of course, once you've played it for a while the flaws become very annoying (Fricking leveled monsters... annoying skill system!) but for a while, just like Assassin's Creed; It's the best game evvar.

I thought it was a unique, pleasant experience. Dark Messiah's combat system is only limited by the player's imagination, to have fun you've gotta think of exiting ways to kill. I think that's what made many people disappointed... they didn't think, they just rushed and cut things up and expected the game to entertain them. Dark Messiah is not like that; It's a box of killtools at your disposal.
Use adrenaline-telikinesis on a goblin and hold him over a fire, have a barbeque. Create deadly traps with the freeze spell. Make it a goal to kill everyone on a level unnoticed. Create goals for yourself.
Also I found the story quite exiting. It was nice to see Ashan from a darker perspective, I really hope the H6 developers somehow get inspired by the more serious atmosphere in DM.

Hahaha, that's not worst case! That's awesome case!
Go play Mount & Blade Gnu, it might not be what you're looking for but the awesomeness might surprise you.

So instead of not helping on the Oblivion issue: What total conversion mod are you then playing? Or is it a total story revamp that adds quests that are not completely pale?
As for Dark Messiah, I found it boring in a quite weird way.
The combat was good, until you realized that melee consist of "break & block", bow is not a vieable weapon before you get your first infinite arrow quiver, and I never attempted magic because it just seemed lame. Melee mainly consisted of a too boring combat, except when you was suppose to slay enemies with too much health or special way of attacking.
I think it just sounds weird, and I don't find just mangling my enemies in a self imposed challenges fun at all.
It was partially nice, but the game ends with "hur dur dur, we are going to kill the hero" Which is quite bothersome are the PC are suppose to be able to attempt to be the hero, and yet here is and attempts to break his own morality in a subtle way.
And it was too short, sadly. I felt like I just got started after some point in that darned Necro citadel, but that was sadly was after the 50% mark
Reminds me: Go and play Mass Effect and then its continual in the most likely to be a trilogy.

ADRIUS# Yeah, i have Oblivion, and it didn't catch me, but then again, its on my stationary pc, so its very looong time ago..
A 2nd try wouldn't hurt ;p
(I got 2 expansions, but they aren't installed yet)
AZAGAL# Haha, niiice.. But no!
FAUCH# I have tried the Invisible War,, Deus Ex is fun games, but i need swords and spells..
DEL_DIABLO# Oblivion does suck, but again, loong time ago..
Dark Messiah doesn't sucks ball... Its awesome.. Ragdoll's, Nice combat system/envoirement!! Where else can you find a game with so many ways to kill enemies, and use everything around you, and choose your path in skill systems?
Crysis is overrated yeah, but the game is still fun, and beautiful to look at..
But i'll try Mount and Blade then, it looks good, and it has a good score on metacritic..

JoonasTo# There is a story, but it's not good,, but you don't buy games like that for a story! You buy it for some action. (It needs a little action though, too many traps, and the hardest enemies to kill is Ghouls, and they are boring as hell...) Else, a great game..

Play shivering isles...
That's one of the best expansions I ever played.
And damn, I loved morrowind, but oblivion is much more interactive (and intuitive. It takes a long time for me to readjust to morrowindafter I played oblivion. Also, the whodunit quest is just amazing (played that one six times). Play as dark brotherhood, I tell ya.
I'll admit the fighter's guild is bland but all else is so colorful and imaginative. Though, the story campaign didn't feel like a life-time achievement. Afer I killed Dagoth Ur, I was like: I AM THE GREATEST!

It was never that part that got me, I never got that far.
The first time i sat down and played it i got quite a bit, but I got bored after a few hours.
The next time i sat down and attempted to like the game I installed a leveling mode to get rid of the crap, the generic oblivion gates dealt me in partially. What became really bothersome was the complete lack of background atmosphere, the fact that the quests was mostly as shallow as dry ground in the desert.........
There are a few good quests around, like the one where you are stuck in that house and are suppose to kill everyone, or the quest where you enter that troll painting.
But on the other hand we got quests who are on the opposite end of the spectrum: The quest where you are suppose to catch one of the household members who stole a painting, you are suppose to get 4 pieces of evidence then be able to accuse. Why can't i just accuse people without evidence? Where is the trial? Where is the options? And why is it scripted so poorly.
What I think of Oblivion: A medicore game who totally blew it at a chance to get snow done and become great! I 10 years from now we won't likely remember it, unless some grand total modification comes out and saves its hide. And then it will be "so that is the crap we are running the game on? Impressive!"
I also got Fallout 3, great game. Partially good for a standalone.
I also decided after digging up a few dusted copies of 1 & 2 to play them also, after quite a bit of playing I was disappointed at NR 3. They had butchered a completely good system, they had ruined the morality, they had combat without proper challange, items was mostly superficial, etc.
I hope New Vegas will be good, since a lot of the original fallout devs are on it, if they blew it, then I will lose my last part of faith in people to be able to repeat succes.
Unrelated notes:
TES: Arena is a generic fantasy dungeon crawler, quite good for being a generic fantasy dungeon crawler.
TES II: Daggerfall is epic, grand, and good. I see why the Daggerfall fans hate Morrowind, and Oblivion. The difference is sort of greater, but its also different.
Blah! RANT!!

That sort of excuse won't wash anymore in the gaming industry, I'm afraid. Maybe back in 1995, when Bioware were starting up, you could still get away with it.

I disagree with you Cephious, you can get away with only having action. HOWEVER! That also means you don't pull idiotic excuses like having a story for the sake of story.
Anyone remember Battletoads for NES? The plot is more or less summed down to "Evil Overlord got Distress in Damsel, go and kick some ass!", which worked great because the game was quite good in pure action.

there are sabers, shurikens, crossbows and the dragon tooth.
no spells of course, but you can activate a couple of fun abilities, like turning invisible, becoming immune to heat, seeing through walls, running super fast. (actually, I think you can get too many abilities, and it makes the game a bit easy )
it is said invisible war was far less good than the 1st one.
fallout 3 is fun for a while, but I think it is kinda repetitive, basically you just wander aimlessly to kill some random dudes and loot them.
