Help! Map file corrupted.

I'm working on my own HOMM4 campaign, but I hit a snag: The map file seems to have become corrupted. When I try to open it in Campaign Editor, it crashes; when I try to play open it in-game to play, it says "error, <campaign name> is bad."

I only just noticed that the file is roughly 92K, while the last saved version is over 700K; it seems a vast chunk of the file has simply vanished.

How did this happen? Is there any way to bring back all of my work (that isn't in the last saved version)?

PS— I don't have Equilibris installed, I'm using the Mac version of HOMM4 on my Apple box.
