I wouldn't mind waintig some more months, if it means a better game.
In fact we already waited for ~4 years, what is waiting more few months.

Honestly, I dont be willing to wait much more. As a fact, both situations have arguments.

Cose here, most of all players wish to wait for a better copy, buggless etc, heres 1 tip why is better not to: the fraction: company financial benefits/expectation(quality)  (will always be bigger then 1)

Wait, hold up everybody.  Anybody remember the original Heroes 5?  Do we REALLY want that again?  The bugs, etc?  Would I be willing to wait so that doesn't happen again?  Absolutely.

As it is, I may wait to buy the game until I learn that it only has minor bugs..but is it too much to ask for it to be bug free?  Really?

Would you buy a car that died every mile if somebody promised to fix it in a year?

I think the question is ill-conceived.

Of course no one wants to put his/her hands on a game before it's as smooth as it can be. But on the other hand, you need to know at least approximatively when a game will land, and they gave us this release date (middle of March) which was great for me and my girlfriend because it drew so near to my birthday and hers; now they're saying they're not sure they'll make it to march, the problem is not that they want to take as time as it gets, but that they gave us a release date they couldn't live up to. And if they release the game in, say, september of the coming year, I'll get a big let down when I've done nothing wrong except taking their word for good.

Now, this is somewhat an usual occurring in the videogaming world (but this doesn't make it any less annoying), but I seriously hope the new release date I get will be accurate.

Nah, I don't care about knowing release dates. I like it much better the way Blizzard's doing things: "We'll release it when it's done.".

Some people will probably not buy it anyway

sheesh, isn't it the same in every heroes game now:
- more factions will come in expansions
- fixing up balance/bugs later or in expansions
- rmg & other nice to have features that were already present before but will be added again later or in expansion
- maybe alternative upgrades in expansions

Expecting quantity/quality/balance of H5TotE first up (equivalent of H5 plus 2 expansions)?  unfortunately I don't think so.

Never thought they'd meet that April fool's release date anyway, why not closer to Christmas to get more sales?

That's more accurate. Yes, it does suck and mostly because its purpose is painfully obvious - to make more money by splitting the full game into several different parts and selling them as "original" and "expansions". This is a common practice in the industry for several years now.
As for MMH VI - I want public beta-testing. This is the only way to see how (un)buggy and well-shaped the game is and if it's worth buying at all. They can develop it one more year and it still could be as buggy as Heroes V and there is no way for us to know it.

I thought it was because of lack of time (=money) due to always starting completely from scratch & figuring out/fixing same stiff again rather than enhancing/building upon what was good

or maybe they listen to the loudest "fans" about which creatures look best, which ones should be included/excluded & how the graphics look instead of actually making a great game

or maybe drag out this pre-launch thing so as to have as much forum activity as possible - esp from those who don't buy it anyway but post a lot - but then again they could be ubi employees

Nah, I'd say money. And maybe time, but to much lesser extent (time doesn't seem to be a problem for Blizzard for instance). I'm willing to bet my monthly salary that the first expansion's already in development.

They should be gunning to get the initial release running as smooth as possible, if they know what's good for them!

I don't mind them making money, because that will mean further games in the series.  If that means splitting things up, well I will deal with that.  Also, a release date is good..but understand that there are things that can not be foreseen.  Like say that half of your programmers come down with the flu (or more) and suddenly you are ground to a halt.  Or some beta tester points out something completely missed, which requires a lot of recoding.  Etc.  So while it is nice if they keep their 'schedule', keep in mind that they don't have a crystal ball.

Perhaps it would have been better for them to be less specific and say Spring from the off, and then make it more specific later when they're more sure. I don't really mind it being delayed, but just like Momo it was scheduled to come at a good time for me and I was starting to look forward to getting it then.

Well, if they have to delay the game to make more money so that they can afford to release an expansion in a timely manner and (ultimately) start work on a Heroes VII, then I'm okay with that too.  What I don't want is for them to lose money on a game that's been built up so much, so that they have to cancel any plans they may have to release expansions or to continue the franchise in general.

That, and delays tend to improve the quality of the game.  Remember Epic Mickey?  That one had a set release date, and although it is an excellent game, the biggest complaint is about the camera controls - which would have been easy to fix, if they'd had more time to fix it.

Yeah sure, and according to my doctor it's somehow unlikely that I'd die due to a acute attack of not-receiving-HeroesVI-in-march, I just hope the next date we get is correct. I'd be happier that way, and I think that just everyone would, as well.
