I'll have to do the same. I've noticed the texture at the base of a Necropolis and at times maybe a dirt road blurs. Is that what you're seeing too?
I haven't thought of it before but I bet whatever causes this, is also connected to the Editor blurring.

Yes, though it occurs not often, and very random. Sometimes it appears in the main menu right after I start the game, but once fixed will not return for the whole session (which could be several hours).
Quote: I had the problem trying in Windows 7 with H5 ToE and installed fine but when running the game, the Heroes mini screen came up then it goes black and nothing more, have to reboot.
See if there's a video driver update for your card. However, Win7 can recover from video driver crashes; the game may not recover, but the OS will. How long have you waited before rebooting? Have you tried calling up task manager, or use Alt-F4 to kill HoMM5?
Install your card's manufacturer's utilities to monitor your card's temperature. Make sure it's not overheating... when overheated all sorts of strange errors can happen which results in the driver crashing.
My last card ran at a rather high temperature (60ēC idle, near 90 when stressed), and it kept crashing in The Witcher EE while working just fine for other games (like Oblivion and HoMM5). I tried everything but nothing stops my video driver from crashing within 5 minutes loading The Witcher. Monitor told me the card was pushed to over 90ēC very quickly by the game.
It's until I upgraded to my current card, a GTX 460, which runs much cooler (60ēC under stress) that I could play Witcher. I just finished my first run a few days ago.
I'm definitely not going to try any of those "Get a grill with your video card" cards (e.g. GTX 480) without installing water cooling first. My other components will live longer with 460 SLI.

Thanks for your input, I have a GTX 260 and I don't think that's the problem, I have the latest drivers for it, and am playing other more graphic intensive games (eg. Crysis)......
It's just so strange, can one really play HeroesV on Windows 7? What version of HeroesV do you need (besides the patch 3.1)?

I just finished Dragon Pass on Hard... EU TotE, version 3.1. Haven't updated video driver for a while (260.89).
Like you I was puzzled by how my old card (9800GTX+) couldn't play The Witcher EE. I tried everything, but nothing stops my card from getting very stressed for no reason (e.g. just started a new game or just loaded a save with nothing exciting going on), within 5 minutes of play time, even when my machine was booted from cold 10 minutes ago.
9800GTX+ is a much hotter card than GTX260 though, and 460 runs even cooler.

Truthfully, I'ld go with the GTX260 it'll give you the best performance in the long run. The 9800gtx+ isn't much of a gain over the 8800GTX. Although the core clock is substantially lower on the GTX 260, this doesn' have any affect. 9800GTX+ is faster in games at lower res and no AA/AF. But GTX260 is the better deal if you want to play high res and AA/AF maxed out....
But thanks, I got it working now and it's smooth!

I was playing a lot of heroes V after bought it on steam but my pc sucks, but it runs the game, but after I reboot and install the windows 10 it became impossible to play! the game runs slower even if I put the settings to the lowest as possible : sorry if my english looks bad

First of all, you must have the latest in quad core or 6 core of a PC's processor.
In order to have optimum performance under the newest Home O.S from Microsoft: Windows 10 Home(Build 1511), you have to have the 6th generation of a Quad core machine or an FX-6300 6 core machine such as mine.
Even with all that processor power, I still needed a way better video card in order to both run the O.S. to it optimum performance but, also, to have the best gaming experience out of both my Steam based types of PC games(arcade and strategy).
Plus, it is sad to say but, only the last version of Heroes 5 can truly run on that latest O.S.(Tribes of the East at version 3.1).
Moreover, once the game is fully installed, running its updater will bring the latest patch available for this title. It turns out that once patched and mods of all kinds have been put in the UserMods folder and, Data folder, the .exe main program gets to become version 3.1.2.98.
Yes, you read it correctly, not the un-official patch 3.1.1 but, the official patch of 3.1.2.98 instead. This has been known by me for at least 6 years(2010 to 2016).

"What are your PC specifications?" So, I get to suggest a solution to an answer that has not been made already, to the request for help of a member of this fine community: See my previous post and, learn that sometimes present day electronics mixed with the latest Operating System, actually work in accordance with the expectations of the user/owner.

@He: Nah.
If you really have a machine of about 6 years of age, I get to say that, it is really the time to re-invest in a much newer machine.
Mine had to be re-upgraded at the Bios of the motherboard level, newer Hard Disk Drive and a much newer and way more performant video card.
And, that was only 2 years after I started using my self assembled machine(same 6 core processor of that time).
I started 3 years ago with a clean install of a full edition of Windows 8.1 and, by last Summer(2015), I had to do the above mentioned upgrades in order to do another clean install for the latest O.S. of Windows 10 Home.
Personal Computers have become more work than anything else. You will always need to rush at using it before more software updates start swarming in and, then, utility software of all kinds have to be used on a weekly basis in order to keep its stability in its optimum level.
In conclusion, being your own system administrator can be a real drag but, nonetheless, necessary.
