Which world would you pick if you had a choice and why?
Which world would you pick if you had a choice and why?
First:
Thw World of Fantasy:
Like
Dungeons & Dragons, Forgotten Realms, Erathia, Axeoth etc.
Where we fight dragons, cast spells, visit strange places and other worldly realms
Second:
The World we live in today:
Computer games, The Internet. Beautiful places of the world. Traveling from one country to another. Seeing and udersting our past. Living in the present and seeing how the world is expanding or having a glimspe of the future with new technology and new wonders happening.
Third:
The World of Sci-fi:
Like Starwars, Star Trek (past and Present) etc
Wbere Technology has adavcned into space ships, lasers and amazing speeds to travel to other worlds. See amazing aliens and other cultures.
this may sound sad, but i have always been curious about this concept.
I would pick the Fantasy because it is different to the other two. The present ans Future have technogly which is similar to each other. Fantasy holds dragons and other weird creatures like beholders and medusas and being able to cast spells using books and wands.

I'll tell ya, but I'd appreciate it if you read my post "Don't you miss the good old days?".
I'd actually, and in all seriousness, prefer the fantasy world, presuming that there were lots of woods, mountains, dales and vales, oceans and stuff. It would have to be very similar to earth on a visual level. I wouldn't mind living in Tolkiens Midgard, I'll tell you that. Please read my thread for elaboration and further explaining.

Hey, Gryth, I would add a postapocaliptic future if I were you. You know, the world after a huge cataclysm. Like in the Fallout games or Madmax movies. I would be choosing either the world I mentioned or fantasy. Why? I just don't know. Maybe because I got a little bored with the real world and I don't like Star Trek/Wars? These two worlds are unique. In the fantasy worlds, magic counts a lot. And survival is harder, as there are many dangerous creatures that are hard to kill. In the world after the bomb (or something else that would change the world so it'd look like a huge wasteland), there's the radiation. The most dangerous enemy. And water is also very expensive, as it isn't that easy to find it any more. There are a lot less twons and cities of all sorts, so you might walk around for months, while today it takes a couple of hours to walk from one settlement (city, town or village) to another. I'd choose one of these worlds, as most ways of living that you can use in the real and cosmic sci-fi just don't fit here.

Primo: sci-fi = someone's vision the future. I said that I would add it to the list because, according to that post, only cosmic future fits to science fiction, while it's not true. You shouldn't say "worlds like Star Wars or Star Trek etc." or something like that. you should add "AND OTHER SCI-FI WORLDS".
Secundo: I thought you're a wise person, as you created two great (IMHO) topics in a day. Calling me Wook usually makes me upset. But Woodcock, you did it. You really pissed me off. Can't you read? I'm WOOCK. W-O-O-C-K. And from now on, I'm calling you "Żyrandol".

Lord_woock's right
Try thinking of a post apocalyptic world (not sci-fi) where the radiation has caused all kinds of mutations to creatures around. There can be big lizards (godzilla maybe), huge bears (sth like behemoths), stuff like that. Force and terror rule the wastelands. Only small packs of humans have revived the old school of magic, and some others have learned to master the forgotten technologies of the XXth century.
This world I would pick any time.

Hey!
It`s difficult question. It defends on how do we actually feel. But not always. But I`m that kind of person. But I think I like these dayse the most, because of computers and internet. I don`t choose sci-fi cos we don`t know how it will be in future.

I would like to live in SF world but not even for an immortality in a Star Trek world.
That kind of world horrifies me most.
Sterile, extreme political correct and everyone looks alike(OK,OK, ones have bigger noses, others some lines in their forehead, third pointy ears)...

If I pick the fantasy town - then there will be no fantasy (e.g. it'll become real).
Same with SCI-FI. There will be no SCI-FI after I select SCIFI!
and I wannt them both - so I'll stay with what we have now.
Also do they have internet in Might&magic?

I do apologise lord Woock i was too busy admiring your avatar to pay any attention to the name. It is one of my weaknesses i'm afraid. Also you can call me Yrandol if you like, as it sounds really cool and easier to remember than Grythandril.
With regards to the postapocaliptic, it still sounds like sci-fi to me even though i did mention star wars and star trek.
But these were just examples i could think of at the time. Sci-fi means to me anything in the our future that could happen which is classes as unreal for the moment. At the moment we live in the present. what you mentioned could happend next month, but it is still the future and i still class that as sci-fi.
So anything sci-fi that would be considered too imagineable to happend.
I have probably confuse myself now.
sorry

Hmm... Looks like some polish symbols don't appear on your screen...
There should be a "Z" with a "." above it at the beginning (before the "Y"). And I suggest you change that sci-fi description.

Which world would you pick if you had a choice and why?
Right I am changing this again which might hopefully please and not confuse people or whatever.
Which world would you pick if you had a choice and why?
First:
The World of Fantasy, Myth and Magic:
Dungeons & Dragons, Forgotten Realms, Erathia, Axeoth etc.
Where we fight dragons, cast spells, visit strange places and other worldly realms
Second:
The World we live in today:
Computer games, The Internet. Beautiful places of the world. Traveling from one country to another. Seeing and udersting our past. Living in the present and seeing how the world is expanding or having a glimspe of the future with new technology and new wonders happening.
Third:
A World of the Future:
In which it has not happened yet, but technology that has advanced and maybe with a futuristic content.
It could be like Starwars, or Star Trek (past and Present)or even a future earth where it has a postapocaliptic future. Maybe even the Human evolution has changed (into Cybernectics or Geneticaly Mutated). Wbere Technology might advanced.

I prefer the world in which we live... It is somewhat comfortable.
Anyway, I think a mix of our existing world and the fantasy world would be interesting (but no sci-fi - it would spoil it all). And for example a headline of a newspaper:
"President Bush negotiates with the main dragon Draco of Draconia about the harmful gases which the dragons emit and their devastating effect on nature"
