Hunted (OoC)
1934 - Top secret Project Double X was initiated. Twenty different combination of DNA/Radiation and genetic manipulation. The goal, to create the ultimate weapon. Each was a success in its own right, but the project was scrapped due to political climate changes. The resulting subjects were cryogentically frozen, and locked in a bunker to be forgotten.
1994 - Project Double X was moved to "The Island". A highly fortified top secret island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
2004 - A massive earthquake rocked "The Island", damage was done to the facility, but the cargo was intact..or so it was believed. The chambers were damaged.
2011 - The damage, having gone unnoticed, finally caused the Chambers to malfunction. All twenty specimens were released. Each awoke with no memory of their past, of how much time had passed, or where they were.
The Island had been deserted and forgot about by the government. Nobody alive even knew about Project Double X. The test subjects should have been able to live their lives undisturbed, with powers most people could only dream about. They might even be able to take over the world, for none could stop them.
Or..so they thought.
Numbers III, IV, and V were found decapitated and their bodies shriveled. Something, or somebody had killed them, and drained them. One of their own now hunted them, but which?
Characters - You can have just about any powers, and abilities. There are only a few limitations. No draining, Time Stop, Time Slow Time travel, or any ability that would let you leave 'Earth' (teleportation is ok, as long as it is limited to not leaving Earth's atmosphere).
Characters have no memory at all of their past, all their family/friends/loved ones have long since died. Each has a number on the back of their hand (in roman numerals). Numbers do not indicate how strong the character is. Nobody knows the abilities of the others..so just because you see it in OoC doesn't mean your character KNOWS this.
Survival will absolutely depend on alliances, but who to trust is a whole different matter. A lot of the NPC's will just be described by their numbers, and their powers will remain a mystery for the most part..just in case somebody wants to jump in. As the number of survivors dwindle, however, there will be more powers being demonstrated and more descriptions given. The object of course is to find who/what is killing everybody off. A word of warning, however. It doesn't matter how strong your character is. No one person will be able to beat the hunter alone. Each person the hunter kills, the hunter gets that person's abilities..but can hide them from any detection ability..no matter how powerful (ie so everybody will always detect as the same powers they first detect as).
Remember, the characters have NO friends/alliences/etc when they first start out.

Sounds interesting... But seeing as I keep hitting that 20 post limit... 
JK, I already have a character idea.
Subject 6: Alan Meritime.
Powers: Has the ability to push himself to incredible speeds, almost seeming to teleport, but he is only running. (ie, cannot just appear in New York city randomly because that would require running over the ocean.) He also has the ability to magnify his own vision temporarily and create shafts/ blasts of light that can blind/ burn people around him. Alan's body glows almost constantly.
Skills (Not actually enhanced abilities, actual real life skills that Alan has picked up): Near photographic memory, remembers how to make things like rope and a hut and he also remembers how to make gunpowder (From 10th grade chemistry). At this point in time, he has learned how to hunt and some poisonous plants.
Personality: really rather disliking of people, he doesn't trust others very easily and is always wary of his allies.
Limitations: Alan needs the sun or any kind of UV to power his abilities.

Name: Vorg (Subject 12)
Powers: Super strength, regeneration, manipulation of earth, excellent sense of smell and hearing.
Weaknesses: Distrusts everyone, cannot handle any form of technology, never takes risks, and doesn't know how to improvise.
Physical Description: Broad muscles, about 6 1/2 feet tall, typically wears black clothing.
History: Vorg was considered a failure of sorts. He does not have the brains to be useful as an operative, and is too easy to trick to be a protector. Only a few scientists realize his true potential. He makes an excellent hunter. He can track people down by their smell, and he never, ever gives up on a target. After the subjects being released, Vorg left to South America, where he resides in an Inca temple, living off tapirs in large amounts. But lately, strange visitors have begun to appear, tracks Vorg has not seen before...
Skills: Vorg is an excellent hunter, and is quite adept at setting traps. He is also good at finding things out.

Name: Subject IX, Eva
Appearance: Shoulder lenght chestnut colored hair, green eyes. She's about 1.70m tall, and has a dragon tattoo on her right shoulder. Her cat form looks like a snow leopard, wolf form is black and in bear form she has burgundy fur. While shapeshifted she grows in height and muscle mass. In cat form she's about the same height and body build, in wolf form she's about two meters tall and is much more muscular, and her bear form is the most bulkiest reaching nearly 3 meters when standind upright.
Powers Accelerated healing factor and regeneration(cannot be killed unless stabbed through the heart or decapitated) and shapeshifting. Can transform into a werecat(very agile and fast, but weakest in strenght of her 'beast' forms), werewolf(pretty much a balance between cat and bear forms) and werebear( Strongest of her forms, but not very agile or fast).
Weakness while shapeshifted, her animal instincts take over, and it's hard for her to tell friend or foe alike. She usually orients by smell to tell which is which.
Background: The DNA splicing performed on Eva was highly a success, but her animal forms were almost impossible to control. She was mindless and feral. Various restraints were tried, but nothing seemed to work. Eventually she was frozen, like the rest of the 'experiments'.

Subject XIV: Rupert Fiddles/Ripper
Physical appearance: Just above 40. Thinning hairline, not very fit (on the slim side), a nice smile and azure blue eyes. Dark brown avarage length hair. 169cm tall. Very hairy body. Wears jeans, white t-shirt and a plain red shirt.
Powers: A toxic in his skin that will paralyze most on touch. His body can be squeezed and stretched (to a certain degree) to avoid serious injury and to press himself into small places. Able to blend into his surroundings. Can sense vibrations and movement around him. Superhuman speed, strength and reflexes (just very strong, not to the extreme). His skin is very hard to break through, as it is more like a hard shell covering his body.
Skills: None in particular.
Personality: Mad. He will talk with his several personalities, arguing with himself. He is totally unreliable and can go from being calm and nice in one moment to being a total nutcase the other. He will try to manipulate and deceive others.
Limitations: Not very strong or fast compared to many others, his powers lie mostly in his ability to trick and poison enemies.
How does that sound?

Ahh, this sounds really good and seeing as the CORE froze(and was a bit confusing/out of control seeing as everyone was all over the earth) this one I MIGHT actually post in. Have not read the IC yet, so what numbers are available? I can see that 3-6, 9, 12 and 14 are taken, anyone else taken?

Two, Eight, Ten, and 13. (of course). However, if you want to assume the role of any of the already shown NPC's I have a way of changing powers/looks. Since no background is given yet. Oh and 19, 19 is dead.

Subject: XX, AKA Catherine
Appearance: Catherine is physically(and mentally) 8 years old. She is therefore the shortest of all of the subjects. She got sapphire colored eyes and blond hair that reaches just past shoulder-length.
Powers: Telekinetic(includes levitating, lifting things, bending things and other stuff like that with her mind), telepathy(read minds and speak into minds) and the power to affect minds(brainwash, direct control, suggestions, hell even make illusions inside a persons mind).
Weaknesses: Physically frail(especially in comparison to the other subjects), näive, believes the best of others and when she tries to "penetrate minds"(affect them/read their thoughts) the power she has to use is depending on the resistance and strong willedness of her opponent. Her telekinetic abilities however needs no "more than average" concentration no matter what object she uses them on.
Skills: Photographic memory, observantional skills(nothing goes unnoticed, but many things might be just ignored cause of attitude), knowledge skill(years of penetrating minds and extracting information has left the girl with a lot of knowledge of things she does not understand(e.g. she could know how to make a nuke without understanding what a nuke is or why she would do it).
Background: Catherine was the last of all twenty subjects, and also the youngest. At the time of her "creation"(the start of her memories) she was considered to be a great success, and was spoiled by her creators. She got gifts and time to play as long as she answered their questions and demonstrated her powers. However, soon enough the scientists would label her a failure when they discovered that one of the girls favorite activities was that of penetrating the minds of others and extracting information from them, leaving the victim a mindless veggetable(spelling?). She was then 'frozen' along with the other subjects.
Personality Quirks: She is a curious little girl who loves to gain new information through reading/penetrating minds of others. She also views herself as the 'Princess of the world' and believes that there exists absolutely nothing that would mean here harm.
She easily attaches herself to things like people(e.g. the other subjects) and places(the base) and has yet to leave neither the island or the base(which she actively lives in). She also believes the best of other people and cannot fathom why anyone would hurt others, or her(even if she hurts others a lot without really understanding this herself). And she views all the other subjects as her big brothers and big sisters and because of having read their minds in the past, is absolutely sure that they have nothing but the best intentions for her.
She has thus far survived by speaking directly to the minds of the animals that lives on the island, having them bring her different kind of food and show her places to get water.
She also has a thing for 'fixing' things. That is to say that she uses her telekinetic to take object A and place it on object B regardless of whether these objects had anything to do with each other when she began. Often her "creations" are only still standing because of her feeding them so much telekinetic power that they keep a unsteady balance. It is this quirk and her levitation abilities that has left her to be the only thing or person who still want and can live inside the base, as she has "redecorated" the place so much that most likely a feather could make it fall(or not?).

Ohh and yeah, take Overlord's advice, I have long since reached the same conclusion.

Again, like B-E-T-A, seeing how CORE has died, I may join. I'm gonna read this up first. Also, be warned Mytical, several survival RPG's have died rather quick deaths, due to lack of steering.

@ Warlord - Something interesting for your Character to sink their teeth into.
@War-Overlord *nods* I tried several freeform games, because that seemed to be the preference of the board. They didn't work, so I am going for a more controlled game this time around.
