You know I think maybe a newbie can learn their own strategy & even pick up new strategies in playing a vet yes.
Save everyday then look over & delete save after yes.
I learned almost everything on my own & had alot of good pointers from vets yes.
I think I learned alot being here & I do understand alot more then I did a month ago.
I apreciate some of the vets that spoke the wisdom & respect it yes thanks again yes.

Then again there are still the few vets that love to make acusations when you ask for help & all you get is to be ignored & think you are too much of a bad person & cheater as a reply, now is that right or what.
You know who you are & you are a very cruel & mean person even though you act nice.

If I think anything that would be the most benficial in training is to just do what Zud said. Make a special map, with 2 heroes on it with pre-arranged numbers of creatures and spells, maybe a few arties. Then the 2 fighters go to battle and have a 30 min battle or however long it takes. Then during and after the battle the hero can explain how to attack a castle.(something I still do really poorly) This would really help people more than what each player is doing on their turn, because that can be figured out with the map editor open and playing the computer a few times trying different things to learn the best way to play a map. Zud's idea is something that I would support much more than the adventure map management, because a lot of the stuff that the experts do don't work as well, because they can attack with a really small army and lose almost nothing.

A suggestion for map could be the Tacticians Corner. Ive played it alot and ive played it many many times with archie. And i can promise you that i fight much better now then i did before we had those "training lessons" now i even manage to beat him on TC once in a while.

Just an idea

Where can I get this map? I'll be playing it as much as I can, because I suck at tactics compared to other players. I only know how to prevent the loss of creatures effectively by not carrying my level 1 and 2 creatures when not necessary. I still wonder how people can beat level 6's on Desert War on Day 4 or 5. I'm confused at this. Then I'm told that it's easy with lightning bolt. I guess I have to remember that the hero already has good levels and maybe some arties. It's still shocking.

Not to be disagreeable with Stiven but I do not find TC to help in real battles.

After all how many battles do you have in real games that resemble the type you have in TC?

In 6 years I have not had one.

You'd be better off just to just play a lot of games and learn how to improvise I think.

TC battles are very good for helping to discover troops strengths and weaknesses and how to move troops and use full battlefeild rather than you on side.

But of course a TC battle will never happen on a real map, well maybe on a very closed map were both players have started the game with exp earth, res, and 200 spell points.. then perhaps....

The other issue concerning tc battles is that all that it utilizes are level 1 spells... and only 1 type of exp magic, which in my experience is never the case unless unlucky....

Many extremely extremely devilish and powerful tactics involve higher level non damage spells.. TC is purely movement strategy , and to get a feel for which magics work best for which towns...

Btw I do love battling on TC for fun...

Well i can only speak from my own experience and i feel that TC battles has helped alot to improve my skills on the battlefield.

OffCourse i know that there will never be a battle in a "real game" like one in TC. But as destro said, u learn how to fight certain towns with your units the best way. YouŽll learn some tricks on the battlefield that are useful even in real games. I dont think i can explain how much my fighting skills has improved since i start playing TC with archie.

But as i said, this might only be me but from my own experience i would recommend other players to play TC aswell.

Btw Destro, i still want my TC rematch
