I wrote a HoMM1 editor, anyone interested?
I wrote a HoMM1 save file editor, please see my blog below:
http://jeffjiang27.blogspot.com/2011/05/heroes-of-might-and-magic-save-file.html
Just download and unzip the file. No installation required.
If you have any problems, please leave me a message on this post or on my blog, thanks!

Wow, thanks so much for sharing with everybody.
Does it work in the DOS version? I find DOSbox is much better for capturing screenshots and videos. =D

Well, all I did was figure out the format of the save file, and then write the code.

I'm not sure about the DOS version, 'cause I don't have a DOS version at hand. My guess is that the DOS version is very likely to have the same save file format as the Windows version. If that's the case, this editor should be working just fine.
If you happen to have a DOS version, please let me know if the editor works or not. Thanks!
