Quote: MODIFYING TERMS POST
Excite is not being used to equal arouse. Too many people are talking about sexual excitement (which is not the same as simple excitement).
I was referring to what are your passions, things you really enjoy, in a pure and simple way.
Anything related to sex is automatically disqualified due to being arousal, not a sincere passion of your heart and mind-NOT the body.
Ok, thread may now continue.
EDIT: Thank you Keks, when I read your post I knew how to respond to the several comments that were not what I had meant for the thread.
I'm sorry Mac, but sex is not only about arousal. Having sex can be just sex but can as well be an intensive, emotional and a passionate act (girls tend to cry during sex because it's so emotional, you can't call it only arousal) it is your thread but you can't make rules about what people should be or shouldn't be passionate about...

Women, guns, explosions, fire, metal, rock n'roll, drugs, violence & rivalry.
Nature, outdoors activities, books, writing, games (video games, card games, strategy board games), history, current affairs.
Family, Friends, and Kindred Spirits. Laughter.
I would also add children, but my instincts tell me it's best to omit that due to the high probability of severe intentional misinterpretation.

[To Smithey] I understand, and agree that people can be passionate about the things two people who love each other can engage in. I was keeping it appropriate for everyone, and I guess I failed to make that clear in my initial post. I guess it is my lesson learned.

While I appreciate the enthusiasm, in the future please please be judicious about which old threads you resurrect - i.e., bump old threads only if you have something new to add to the discussion.
Thanks.

Proving people wrong. Even at a molecular level it still excites me, and I found that this is the case with many people, even if it is unbeknown to them, so I tend to use that to my advantage.
Eg: "I don't suppose you have any x-rated movies."
"actually we do,"
(even a total **** wouldn't pass up this chance to prove someone wrong, the use of the word 'actually' is a dead give-away))

Quote: Statistics! That's why sport became appealing to me. You follow a set of teams and players, each having their own variables, which differs with time. For some reason, I just really enjoy looking through stuff like old CL tournaments, not the games, but the brackets, the scores, the group phases and the knockout phases.
It's, however, only fun as long as there's one to more teams to support, and as long as the results seems to make some kind of sense in my head. If A beats B 90% of the times, I don't want to see B beating A 5 times in a row. At least not the first many many seasons, but I want surprises and I want to see B defeat A. I don't want the same team to always win, I want development, but I want the overall strongest team to win most of the time.
Man, I love checking results of stats even from 40 years ago or so.. and I used to make statistics myself for some teams in the summer because of boredom. It sure is a good hobby. I even tried it with American football although I hardly know the sport...
Oh and I am getting better and better at making predictions for european cups

Do you know about the elo rating system? It's a method to evaluate teams. Though sadly in a closed system (like nation team football, where you won't add new nations participating after some time), there'll be a general deflation and it's not applicable to compare teams of different periods, simply because the opposition were weaker then as well (meaning a rating of X requires more strength in 2010 than in 1940, so a 2010 team with rating of X is stronger than a 1940 team of equal rating). When new teams are introduced (like in chess, with new players) such problems does not occour, because new players generally inflates the rating as the game develops.
Anyway, it's still pretty interesting, like the highest rated team is Hungary from decades ago. Brazil's most famous team is nr. 2. While current Spain and Netherland are very high as well and not far behind Brazil of that era. Likewise is France of 2000 incredibly strong as well.
However what is most interesting is the actual numbers. In chess where this rating system is applied, having a score of ~2200 (a bit above the highest in football) is something you'll find several people in most cities be able to achieve. It tells something about the unstability of football teams even when they were on their very highest level (compared to the rest of the world).

well statistics can't always predict stuff like Romania, Sweden and Bulgaria 94, the 98 final, Ronaldo coming back for 2002, or at the euro greece 2004 and Denmark 92, therein lies the beauty of it.
Hungary was a great team but so long ago, even before Marty mcFly went back to the future

Sorry about your mom Dark, but it would be a waste to leave her with the maggots where no one can appreciate her beauty.
And yes, Dad's mom. She is one fine lady for her age.
