The Oasis

Mostly heroes fans seen lizardmen as a tribal race which lives in swamps,but I will do something different,I will make lizardmen an wise oriental race,which use gunpowder(BOOM) and have a cult of deads.

Environment

The anguises(southern lizardmen) lives in Enorch Desert,it's separated by rest of continent by Savage Sea.Enorch is a very hostile place,in the day the temperature reach even 50C and at night,it drops to 0C.There lives also a lot of dangerous animals,for example many venomous snakes:Diamond Snakes,Horned Vipers and Royal Cobras.The arachnids can be from several cm to giant scorpions which can cut a cattle in two with their claws.The biggest spiders can have the size of a horse,Camel Spiders and Solar Spiders can reach even 150kg and have a lethal poison.The Enorch desert haven't only a lot of arachnids,but also reptiles,desert varanuses have 1.50m and are very aggressive.Some species of mammals are also found here.The vegetation is very poor,palms,cactus and bushes grow here,small grass and medicinal herbs may be found on littoral fields or near waters.Under the sands of Enorch are found various minerals and metals:agate,sulfur,silver,iron,carbon,diamond,sapphire,copper,gold and smoky quartz.

Anguises Anatomy

Anguises(aka southern lizardmen) are a reptilian elder race,larger than the majority of other humanoids,they have between 1.90m to 2.40m and around 250kg.Their body is covered with scales,the color varies from green to red and even orange.In their veins circulate 10 liters of blood(an adult human have around 5 liters) and their Erythrocytes are larger than humans ones,this fact strengths their immunity at diseases,also Leukocytes triple and four times more Thrombocytes than humans blood have.Anguises skeleton have 240 bones(humans have 223) and their skeleton weights 25kg(an adult human skeleton is 9kg).Anguises live in desert environment and can resist 3-4 weeks without water if before this they had been drink enough.The most thinks that anguises eat only meat,but in fact they eat almost anything,the desert is merciless,so they must eat what they can find,from insects and carrions to plants,even cactus and fresh meat.Even if they are reptiles,anguises can control their corporal temperature,very necessary in desert,because the variations of temperature are common here.Their denture is formed from sharp teeth and 4 huge canines,these teeth can produce 1250kg force.

Religion

The anguises worship Ar-jan-al-dei,the great lizard of the deserts.The great lizard is a mysterious entity which exist in another plane,other than where the primordial dragons fought,the legends says,that it stayed 5000 years on Ashan and created anguises,the savage sea was a strong barrier which protected it from Dragon Wars.Ar-jan-al-dei sent every 1500 years a seer in Azabin Empire,the seer have a great wisdom and magical powers understanding and sparing the word of the great lizard.Seers are immortal,but they can die in wars and often lead armies of Azabin in battle.Anguises have a well-respected cult of deads,they mummify their deads and put them in stone tombs,but often when the armies haven't enough soldiers,seer often raise undeads as necromancers do.Seers are the main priests of the Anguises,but they often raise apprentices and missionaries.Seers are always dressed in chainmails and battle armors as they must to be ready to sacrifice themselves for country and divinity

Economy

The Azabinean Currency is the Silver Triot.Under the sands of Enorch are found various minerals and metals:agate,sulfur,silver,iron,carbon,diamond,sapphire,copper,gold and smoky quartz.The subterranean resources and the lack of water made the majority of population of Azabin Empire to be jewelers or miners which make jewels from precious stone and metals and made especially exports to continental kingdoms.The major problem of the Azabin Empire is the lack of wood,in desert you can only find small groups of palms near waters,so all buildings except docks are made from adobe.Agriculture is only practiced in littoral zones or near water.Under cities are built subterranean tunnels filled with water,like to any city to have enough water.Anguises eat anything to survive,they often hunt animals in desert,using short bows,the prey are usually small animals which lives in this hostile desert,jackrabbits,horned vipers,chuckwalla and gazelles.In littoral zones fishing and fishes farm are common.Anguises herd animals which can survive with the small quantity of food which is found here,like hens and goats.The Azabinean horses are the best from Ashan,a lot of people wandering,how can grow so massive and fast horses in desert with little food and water,the answer is simple,the locals feed them with a special herbal mixture,the recipe of this herbal mixture is very well guarded.But the greatest advantage of the Azabin Empire are the explosives,invented in Azabin,made from sulfur,coal and nitrate.Anguises have rifles named agriates,they shoot precise and can penetrate even the most resistant armors.During the Great Sand Marshes(223-230YSD),the explosives annoyed wizards and made them to retreat in Silver Cities.

Social Life and Culture
Anguises live only in Enorch desert and some small islands,well exactly behind the borders of Azabin Empire.It's true that there exist more species of lizardmen,anguises are the largest and the most civilized from all.Unlike their wild cousins,anguises live in an well-developed society.Their empire is ruled by an Emperor and their political system is a monarchic one.Due the lack of other resources,the most of population is made from craftsmen and miners.The main resources are iron,sapphires,diamond and silver.While sapphire,diamond,silver and the little quantity of gold found in desert is used at jewels which are often exported to continental kingdoms,the iron is mostly used at steel making,is commonly used at tools,weapons,armors,structures and is a really big advantage over other states which use normal iron.The anguises adobe houses have usually 5 rooms and there live 5-6 person,this fact depends.The wealthy anguises can have palaces.The Imperial Palace from Quatal is literally giant.It have 120m height and in it can enter more than 1000 anguises.Mostly anguises families own their own weapon,be it spear,scimitar or agriate,the fire weapons are very expensive,so only wealthy anguises can buy one,scimitars cost depends,on its quality,a iron scimitar is cheaper than a steel one,also it matter if the blacksmith is a talented one and the hours spent in forging the weapon.The spear is the cheapest weapon which can be owned by individuals.Anguises intern trades are made in marketplaces,named bazaars,here people can sell,buy or exchange goods.The Azabinean currency is the silver triot,a 5g silver coin.Another common occupation of anguises is the herd of heavy war horses breeds,the war horses are also exported in other countries,that bring a very nice profit to horse tamers.Anguises drink very much alcohol,some says that the alcoholic drinks help them to control their body temperature,one thing is sure,they like it very much.In Azabin Empire,an anguis drink around 30l/year,as they get harder drunk than humans or other species,they can drink a lot.A special drink made from fermented dates,which contains around 40-50% alcohol is made in industrial quantities and served in local pubs.Anguises have temples where they pray to Ar-jan-al-dei,but the most anguises families have a personal altar in their homes.

Diplomacy

Knights
Holy Empire and Azabin Empire are far away each other,the Savage sea and half from continent is between them.The culture and climate are very different,in Holy Empire is a continental climate,in Azabin Empire,is dry tropical.Anguises live in adobe houses,only their docks are made of wood,humans of the empire prefer the wood buildings.The weaponry is also different,warriors in Enorch desert use scimitars and prefer chainmails because of the warm climate,knights use straight swords and full-plate armors.Even if there is a large geographic barrier,there was adventurers which from the Holy Empire,reached the shores of Enorch,these was fascinated by the culture and inventions of anguises and brought with they in Holy empire a lot of new inventions,like explosives.Also humans of the empire are always welcome there,if they can resit in the infernal temperature.

Elves
Elves can't survive in desert and prefer to stay in their forests than travel to hostile lands,so no elf put his foot on the sands from Enorch desert.But pieces of elven literature passed the Savage Sea.Anguises were surprised by elven style of life and consider elven race ignorant.

Wizards
Wizards and anguises never liked each other,from the day when wizards reached the shores of Enorch Desert in 128YSD,is a constant war between Azabin Empire and Silver Cities.Wizards thought that their magic is superior,but they were wrong,Seers magical power showed its efficiency,the sandstorms,mirages and dead raising were more powerful than wizards arcane sciences.Anguises defeated the wizards in Enorch and attacked Silver Cities shores during a successful campaign,which results were 3 mages cities conquered.

Demons
Demons are a brutal and destructive race,so anguises hate demons.The religious texts,says that there will come an apocalyptic race of destruction,which must be stopped,if it isn't the Ashan will be destroyed.So anguises profit from any opportunity to kill demons.The favorite way to destroy the spawns of Urgash of anguises is that to blow up demonic hives.

Necromancers
Necromancers and azabinean Seers are the best allies.Both have a cult of death and raise dead,also the same philosophy "Death is not the end,but only the begging".Anguis Seers raise the dead only with the will of Ar-jan-al-dei and they raise only their deads,often mummifying them.During the civil war in Silver Cities,to a lot of necromancers,the Azabin Emperor offered refugee and even more,even financed their studies in art of necromancy.Anguises and Necromancers have also the same enemy,Silver Cities.

Orcs
Angusies see orcs as a primitive race,made by their wrost enemies,wizards of the Silver Cities.Orcs don't care about their deads,fact which make anguises to hate even more orcs.Explosives can keep orcs miles away.


Nagas
Nagas lives in water and tropical rain forests,anguises in desert.No special relation was made between them.

CORE

1.Vulture->Carrion Bird
Vulture-Vultures are scavenging birds, feeding mostly on the carcasses of dead animals.Although feeding largely on meat (as opposed to insects and small reptiles), vultures do not generally kill their own prey, which would classify them clearly as a raptor. Because of this, historically they have alternated between being classified as a raptor or as a non-raptor and have been the subject of extensive DNA testing to test relationships with other birds.A particular characteristic of many vultures is a bald head, devoid of feathers. This helps to keep the head clean when feeding. Research has shown that the bare skin may play an important role in thermoregulation.Anguises uses them like hunters,to catch jackrabbits and other smalls animals,but also to annoy enemies in battle,vultures often hit eyes of the enemies,attracted by the shines of these in the sun of Anorch..
Carrion Bird-"You are what you eat" this exactly apply at carrion birds.They feed with corpses,but these birds are literraly undeads.Carrion Bird's flesh decay slowly,it's full with worms,which often serve as food stock in own body.Unlike many others undead,carrion birds must eat flesh to recover the putrid flesh which fell from their body.If they don't eat,the flesh will decay and will fell,finally carrion birds wouldn't fly or move.But they have a chance to live forever.Carrion Birds raising methods are very different,from corpses infected with necrologyc bacterias or raised by seers.Only one thing is sure,carrion birds are perfect as warriors,because they can bring diseases between enemies.

Flyer-these creatures posses a pair of wings,which help them to fly over obstacles(such as defensive walls,trees,rocks,other stacks).Scavenger-These creatures have in their diet carrions and corpses,having bacterias in their saliva,helping them to eat infected rotten meat.This creature can restore its health and even their numbers by devouring the enemy corpses lying on the battlefield within its movement range (activated ability).Health gained is equal to 20% of the dead stack's Hit Points.
Only Upgrade
Undead-this creature was once alive,but now is an animated corpse raised by magic.Because now it don't have an living body,poison have no effect on them like mind-spells.They don't care about victory or lose,no fear to death,no joy for wining,so morale is always neutral.Plague Bearer-this creature is infected with a strange kind of disease,which can infect living beings which stay in its presence.The decayed creature can spare diseases between enemies,all enemies around this creature have 20% chances to get infected(-2Atk,-4def for 3 turns)

2.Desert Varanus->Battle Lizard
Desert Varanus-The teeth of desert varanus are acute and compressed. Its snout is depressed at the end, as long as the distance from the anterior border of the orbit to anterior border of the ear; canthus rostralis distinct. Its nostril is an oblique slit, about four times as distant from end of the snout as from orbit. Digits are rather short. Tail round or slightly compressed. Scales of head, including supra-oculars, very small, granular, subequal. The scales on the upper surface are small, smooth or feebly keeled; those on the sides of the neck generally conical in adult specimens. Abdominal scales of the Desert Monitor are smooth, in 110 to 125 transverse series (counted from collar-fold to groin). Its caudal scales more or less distinctly keeled; no caudal crest. Greyish yellow, sometimes with more or less distinct brown cross bars on the back and tail and brown streaks along the sides of the neck. Young monitors have round yellow spots and dark brown cross bars and temporal and cervical streaks; a few brown lines across the snout and short vertical brown lines on the lower lip.Often anguises have them as pets or as guard "hounds".
Battle Lizard-Battle Lizards are varanuses trained by anguises like war hounds,they are used for people entertainment in lizard fights,crazy drugged lizard special trained to be aggressive and battle each other in small battlefields of 2X2 meters.Some emperors even banned these battles because they were cruel and often varanuses died in these combats,because their trainers often put steel razors on their claws.Sometimes battle lizards are used in real wars to bite and scratch the enemies.

Reptile-this creature is a reptile covered with resistant scales,this natural armor protects it from 25% of physical damage suffered.Bacterias-the saliva of this creature contains bacterias from the food it eats,when the creature attacks there are 40% chances to infect the target which will lose 3hp/for every varanus in stack during 3 turns(1hp/varanus every turn)
Only Upgrade
Razors-this creature have sharp razors put on its claws,these razors will pierce the armor of the attacked stack,ignoring 25% from its defense

3.Bone Warrior->Burning Warrior
Bone Warrior-To these brave anguis warriors was gave another chance to serve their country.They are a little weaker than they were in life due the lack of flesh and scales,but any warrior in plus is good.Even if they are weaker as undeads,are less depended on material resources,no indifference for hunger,thirst or sleep,often used as night guards.Seers practiced the art of deads from ancient times and it proves even today,quite useful.Thanks to these common practices the Seers and Necromancers are good friends.The old weapons of the bone warriors are covered with rust,even if they are weaker,these weapons can infect the enemy(yeah,with tetanus),making them to die slowly.
Burning Warrior-Burning warriors are very strategic units on battlefield.Like bone warriors are undeads,so don't care about hunger,thirst or sleep.They can fight without be tired until the last bone is crushed.But,to be more destructive on battlefield.The creativity of seers is seen here,they "wash" the bones of the revived warrior with alcohol,oil or other inflammable substance and put fire on it at he start of the battle.The fire don't affect the bone warriors in a negative way,the scimitars and armors of these undead soldiers are made from a local metal which can resist to very high temperatures,there exist huge blacksmiths where it is forged.Burning warriors just run on the battlefield and burning and kill anyone which is near them,any one which try to stop them will fall under the scimitars covered with burning alcohol.Excellent at sabotage they can burn the war machines and  enemies camps.Once the battle is over,water is turned on the skeletons to stop the fire and are covered with alcohol,oil or other inflammable substance for the next battle.

Undead-this creature was once alive,but now is an animated corpse raised by magic.Because now it don't have an living body,poison have no effect on them like mind-spells.They don't care about victory or lose,no fear to death,no joy for wining,so morale is always neutral.Rusty Weapon-the rust which cover creature's old weapons have 30% chances to infect the living targets,which will lose 3hp/your creature stack for 4 turns
Only Upgrade
Torch-this creature is covered with flames which will damage any adjacent creature with 2dmg/units in torch stack per turn.Fire resistance-take only 25% damage from fire direct damage spells and have 75% chances to ignore a fire hostile spell.Fire Power-when a fire spell(hosstile or friendly) is cast on it,the creature gain +1 attack


ELITE

1.Solar Spider->Camel Spider
Solar Spider-Solar Spiders are skilled hunters,with powerful poison.They are actually giant,with a weight of 140kg and length 1.50m long.Also they cheliceres are like swords,can cut easily an iron armor or swords!They stay all day at sun,because they must control temperature,like reptiles.They stay at hunt in sand with a leg at surface and when a creature think it's a worm and stay closely,they jump and inject the venom in victim's body,who die instantly.Another hunter tactic is the trap hole,the spider dig a hole,put some stones at its entrance,bound the rocks with a small wire of web and when feel vibration,jump and catch the pray!They are also very good in battles,but their savage comportment made them very hard to train.
Camel Spider-Larger than solar spider,stronger venom.They use vibrations for detect they pray in night.For this cause they doesn't need good eyes and if is blind,it isn't defenseless and same deadly.Their cheliceres can cut easily harder armor and their massive webs can catch large enemies.Camel Spiders have 170kg,1.80m long and can run with 60km/h.Their favorite hunt tactic is the ambush,the spider is hidden in the sand and when the pray is near,it jump and inject the venom in the victim body,who is paralyzing immediately,but it isn't dead and solar spider can have a fresh meal when it want.The name of "camel" come from their cavities where these spiders keep water,they can hold upon 15l of liquid in both.

Arachnid-the arachnids eyes aren't very good,so they base on vibrations,these creatures are immune to blind and weakness.Poisonous-in addition to normal damage the enemy attacked will also be poisoned. Poisoning will cause a certain amount of damage during the next three turns.Poison damage is proportional to the number of creatures in the attacking stack (at the time of poisoning)Sand Camouflage-on desert terrain,this creature can lose one turn to stay hidden,enemies can't attack it,but also the creature can't attack

Killer Reflexes-this creature will retaliate before the enemy creature will attack(like negates first strike in H4)



2.Avriack Anguis->Atman Anguis

Avriack Anguis-One of the most important infantries of Azabin Empire.Avriack-anguis are anguises trained in hand-to-hand combat.They use long and powerful scimitars which can cut even the most resistant armors.Not any anguis can become an avriack-lizard,they must pass a very hard training which only the strongest can pass.To gain resistance against high temperature of Enorch,they wear lightly chainmails and materials which keep the body cold even in this extreme climate.These combinations of materials are very good made,they are keep the cold temperature in day time,when there is very hot and night,they keep warm.The avriack-lizards' training lasts 30 years and they learn how to beat armies even three times bigger and advance military tactics.
Atman Anguis-The elite infantry of Azabin empire.Atman Anguis are very powerful and important in Azabin armies.The large size and the physical strength make them as powerful as 10 human soldiers and important shock troops.Veteran avriack lizards can try to reach the next level and practice more 10 years to became Atman Anguis even if they resisted at avriack training and was victorious in several battles,not all Avriack Lizards became Atman Anguis,a lot from them will fell during the hard training.Atman Anguis have a heavy scimitar with length of 1.5m and have a light plate,under it a chainmail and a helm,which are very important on battlefield and can make the difference between dead or life.Also,they grease the scimitars with Solar Spider venom,who make they more lethal than any other warriors.Their equipment is blessed by seers making it to resist to hostile spells.

Reptile-this creature is a reptile covered with resistant scales,this natural armor protects it from 25% of physical damage suffered.Strikes Twice-instead to deliver one hit,this creature deal two
Only Upgrade
Poisonous Weapon-this creature weapon is covered with poison,in addition to normal damage the enemy attacked will also be poisoned. Poisoning will cause a certain amount of damage during the next three turns.Poison damage is proportional to the number of creatures in the attacking stack (at the time of poisoning).Blessed Armor-the armors of Atman Anguis are blessed by seers,so they have magic qualities which give to their owners 50% resistance against hostile spells



3.Desert Cavalry->Mounted Janissary
Desert Cavalry-Azabin empire is famous for the pure and powerful breeds of horses which are found in Enorch.The most known war horses from there are the Giant of Enorch and Steel Mane.Giant of Enorch horse is the heaviest and the powerful from all Ashan,reaching 2m and weights even 2tons,these war horses can resist a lot of time without water or food,but when they are feed,Giants of Enorch eats around 50kg and drink 100l of water.A lot of non-natives are wondering how can be so large and strong horses in desert,but the answer is very simple,in Enorch grow some species of cactus whit a very nutritive juice,anguises extract that white juice and mix it with cereals which horses eat.But that's not all,horses must be heavy trained,every day riders parcurge 5km.Not only horses are known,also riders.If anguises want to be part of Azabin cavalry battalion,they must train for young ages and buy their own horse if they don't have one.Azabin cavalry use light chainmails,for mobility they don't use heavy armors and sharp scimitars which can penetrate the full-plate armors.
Mounted Janissary-Even powerful than a scimitar is an agriate.Agriates are rifles which shoot with steel spherical bullets propelled by black powder.These fire weapons were invented in 200YSD no more time after the explosive powder was invented.The only disadvantage at agriates is reloading,a Janissary can shoot only 1 bullet,maybe 2 per minute if he is fast enough.The mounted janissairies are better than infantry ones,combining mobility of desert cavalry and the lethal power of agriates,make these experienced snipers to be very powerful.Also when riding a horse they can carry more bullets.

Reptile Rider-because only the rider is a reptile,it can negate only  10% damage dealt by physical attacks.No Enemy Retaliation-Enemies never retaliate after melee attacks by creatures with this ability.
Only Upgrade
Ranged-carrying a ranged weapon,this creature can attack another stack from distance
Deadly Shoot-because of janissaries skills and deadly agriates,there are 70% chances like a number of creatures from the target stack equal with 20% from janssairies'number to be instantly killed after attack

Oops,it was an older faction of my which it had 10creatures,I forgot to cut that,now I made it with seven.

For spiders,I like them and they fit very well in desert line-up.
