Heroes 7:Lizard's Version
[UNDER (RE)CONSTRUCTION]
In the last time,Jiriki,bixie and DarkLord made some H7 proposal and now I decided to start myself one.These who know me and who saw my old proposals will know that I'm an Ashan hater and I like dramatically changes.
Generalities
World:(Obviously not Ashan) Astrum
Number of Factions:8 or more
Resources:Primary(Gold/Treasury),Common(Wood,Stone,Iron/Metal),Rare(Cinnabar,Titanite)
Special I:Every creature that belongs to a faction has the faction's key ability
Special II:Every Faction has a campaign with 4 scenarios,some end with an final battle
TOWNS
-Fortress-humans inhabiting the feudal empire,Austricium,the army is composed from unqualified soldiers to heavy cavalry as knights,but also from heraldic creatures,the wyverns
-Necropolis-undeads and aspects of death summoned by Necromancers,living both at surface and in underground catacombs
-Gehenna-demons,like old Inferno
-Stronghold-human barbarians,not orcs,having a cult of nature,worshiping forest spirits
-Temple-worshipers of an ancient pantheon of gods
-Asylum-the dark ones,a cult of fanatics which summon abominations from other planes,they made an alliance with demons and are responsible for helping the demons to enter in Astrum
-Oasis-desert faction inhabited by Anguises,reptilian humanoids that lives in the far south,they developed lots of explosive powders in both peaceful and military proposes
-Commune-once part from the same kingdom as Austricium,the Western Kingdoms,a human faction,that is now decimated by plague and its inhabitants fight not to unite their country but for own survival
History
The major events of Astrum are connected with the apparition of Black Star.A collision of this falling star(in fact a small meteorite) and Astrum changed the world's dramatically,demons summoning on this plane and a lot of strange events are connected with the Black Star.The calendar is noted with "BBS"-before Black Star- and "ABS"-after Black Star.
1 ABS-the collision with the Black Star,once a fertile land,the plains of Exum were transformed into a wasteland,also demons enter in Astrum(all)
32 ABS-the small beryl kingdoms united under a single ruler,the king Cuthbert forming the Austricium Empire(Fortress)
81-96 ABS-a sorcerer named Sandro,becomes an necromancers and puts bases to an undead empire,uniting more necromancers hidden in the Austricium Empire
97-102 ABS-the high bishops of the Austricium Empire decided like any other magic than the Religious Scriptures(aka religious prayers) is heresy,so Sandro and his adepts flee in the underground(Necropolis)
105 ABS-the sacred temples of Hermus are reconstructed after the impact of the Black Star in Exum(Temple)
110 ABS-Sandro becomes the first archlich in Astrum
115-114 ABS-is made a secret alliance between necromancers and Azabin empire(Necropolis and Oasis)
130-153 ABS-the demons summoned after the impact of the Black Star attacks the new built temples of the Hermus(Temple and Crater)
198-200 ABS-the gunpowder is invented in Azabin Empire
230-235 ABS-the barbarians migrates into south and make their first incursions with the people of the Austricium Empire(Stronghold and Fortress)
325-337 ABS-as revenge for the banishing which toke place 200 years ago,Sandro decided to raid some border cities of the Austricium Empire,these raids were successful(Necropolis)
455-457 ABS-undead are now considered a nation by other countries(Necropolis)
512-514 ABS-demons siege the city of Kalihar,the priests of Hermus enter in panic when the demons bring strange giant siege rams which "breath" fire(Crater and Temple)
515 ABS-Demons successfully entered in Kalihar,a group of Hermus faithfuls escapes from the demons fury which burnt the city of Kalihar(Crater and Temple)
510-582 ABS-the western kingdoms are affected by plague(Commune)
625-632 ABS-Austricium Empire's armies discovered the undead catacombs,and try to assault it.The attack was unsuccessful,the labyrinths,secret passages and the darkness were a very strong barrier against the livings(Necropolis and Fortress)
650 ABS-The Austricium's Emperor,Roland decideds to make peace with the undeads under Sandro's command and to accept the pact,the Empire allows also to Necromancers to take any corpses that resulted as casualties in Austricium's wars.This pact will be known(Necropolis and Fortress)
652 ABS-Roland is assassinated by the opposition of the Necromancers,the new Emperor breaks the peace pact with the Necromancers,the hostilities between Austricium Empire and the Undead begin again

Description
The Holy Empire toke birth in 32 ABS,when the three Beryl kingdoms united under a single ruler,the king Cuthbert.Cities of the holy cities are truly fortresses,having stone walls,keeps and their own garrison formed from militia to experienced soldiers.The peasants fields and the suburbs are located outside the town walls and in war times,they all enter in within the walls.People from the Holy Empire put great price on religion,every city has at least two churches.The most representative animal of the Holy Empire is the Wyvern,a winged serpent who had been the royalty symbol for centuries,they don't breath fire as the dragons from legends,but they can bite and even break bones.

Militiaman-Holy Empire is full of rogues,thieves and troublemakers,so it would be very dangerous for citizens if there is no justice.Someone need to get rid of these thieves and to make cities safe,to patrol towns day and night in order to silence the troublemakers.That what militiamen do,they are the local "police" of the Holy Empire,they stay in the city garrison ,but there is always a patrol in town.In times of war militias are called on battlefield as non-qualified soldiers.Maybe not the best soldiers but they are many and can do important damage.Militias equipment is a spear and a iron skull cap.
Footman-The basic infantry of the Holy Empire are the footmen,recruited from both peasantry and bourgeoisie.They have a short training of 1-2 years which teach them the basics,how to use weapons,how to keep battle formation and to always follow the orders of the commanders.Having a decent training and equipment,footmen important on battlefield,because they are forming the majority of the army.Wearing a chainmail and a helm,using a pike and a tower shiled shield,footmen prove to be a main damage dealer,because of their large number which is always present.Maybe one footman isn't very useful,but a thousand are.
Loyal(basic&upgrade)-these units are very devoted to the crown,there is no way to change their opinions and worship,so no mind spell would work on the loyal mind of these creatures
Bash(basic&upgrade)-At every attack creature has a chance to stun the enemy so they won't be able to retaliate and lose initiative (mechanical creatures are not affected)
Long Weapon(basic&upgrade)-armed with a long weapon allows these creatures to hit enemies from one tile away
Tower Shield(upgrade)-the large shield of this creature will protect its owner from 50% of the physical damage dealt by ranged enemies
Archer->Longbowman
Archer-Distance troops are necessary for any army.The bow is one of the most common ranged weapon,using for both hunting and fighting.Archers are mostly levied peasants or citizens which apply on battlefield the tactics which learned at hunting.Archers can also train at communal archery ranges,which are often opened in times of war almost in every city of the empire.Often missing or making minor injuries to target,these inexperienced can also make deadly black clouds of arrows which will cause serious damage to the enemy army.
Longbowman-Better than a bow is a longbow.A longbow is a type of bow that is tall (roughly equal to the height of the person who uses it), this will allow its user a fairly long draw, at least to the jaw.A longbow is not significantly recurved. Its limbs are relatively narrow so that they are circular or D-shaped in cross section.Because the longbow can be made from a single piece of wood, it can be crafted relatively easily and quickly. Amateur bowyers can craft a longbow in about ten to twenty hours, while highly skilled bowyers, such as those who produced longbows, can craft wooden longbows in just a few hours.Longbows prove to be excellent distance weapons on battlefield,they are deadly even in the hands of a peasant,but an expert can fire even 12 arrows in a minute.

Shooter(basic&upgrade)-this creature can inflict damage remotely. When distance to target is longer than half the arena, the target suffers only half the normal damage. Shooter cannot use ranged attack when blocked by enemy creature. If there's no Ammo Cart in the army, the number of shots is limited by available ammo.
Fast Fire(basic&upgrade)-an experienced archer can shoot even 12 arrows per minute,firing fast it can deal more arrows,hitting even the adjacent targets.The adjacent creatures receive only 35% damage from the normal one
Long Range(upgrade)-the longbow is a very accurate weapon,it can shoot targets which are located hundreds of meters away.This creature don't suffer range penalty.
Monk->Cleric
Monk-Like the Creator to help them in battle,armies should be pure and sinless,so monks are often taken in armies to bless the soldiers and to bring the mercy of the Creator between the wounded soldiers.Monks live in monasteries,having a sinless life and trying to bring peace and harmony between the people of the empire,but there will be always wars,so monks try to make battles as short as possible.In their monastic life,monks also learn to heal and to care about the people which have diseases.
Cleric-high-ranked members of the local clergy often join to the armies to bless and raise the morale of the soldiers during hard military campaigns.Spending their time in hospitals,taking care of the wounded and these in suffering,clerics can also heal the wounded soldiers of the army,but also to bless the soldiers to make the wars as short as possible and having as much as possible less victims.

Pacifist(basic&upgrade)-clerics and monks will attack only if the enemies which attacked or cast hostile spells on them

Holy Attack(basic&upgrade)-ignoring the pacifist ability against demons,also always kill a demon when attacking a demonic stack,also deal 150% damage against demonic creatures
Scriptures Reader(basic&upgrade)-reading prayers from the holy books,monks and clerics can raise the morale of the soldiers,which want to have some peace and which suffered enough from the war.Monks and clerics will give 2 morale to the Fortress creatures and 1 to the other creatures which are in hero army/garinsson
Praying(upgrade)-clerics can pray like a friendly creature to receive a blessing;Prayer of Strength;Prayer of Hope;Prayer of Resistance
NECROPOLIS
Aka: The necromancers,the undead
Associated colors: Black,Grey and Dark Blue
Worship: none.they control the death,they control the life,they're gods
Country / kingdom:a lots of underground tunnels,also known as the Catacombs

General Description
Necropolis,the city of the (un)dead,inhabited by various forms of undead,resurrected corpses,restless spirits,necromancers and personification of death itself.The Necropolises are build in dead land,dead vegetation,the grass is pale yellow and the trees are leafless,the land is covered in a white milky fog.Under the "extern" Necropolis at surface,under it are underground catacombs inhabited by other undead,usually more horrific than these at the surface,sinister experiments in creating plagues and invincible undead warriors.Necromancers and Death Marshals are in the head of the hierarchy together with the personifications of death.The architectural type is Gothic and gargoyles are common ornaments,but sometimes,the necromancers imprison souls into the horrid stone statues to animate them,creating bloodthirsty flying monsters to kill the enemies of the necromancer.
History
Sandro is the founder of necromancy and the ruler of the undead kingdom.Banished with the other mages during 97-102 ABS,when the high bishops killed and exiled the all magical scholars and wizards excepting the "holy" ones.Founding the undead empire in the underground,constructing a huge network of catacombs,where under the protection of darkness and the stone walls,the necromancy evolved much more than other magical schools.After gaining more power,the undead expanded their empire over the catacombs at surface.

ok...several changes in factions...necropolis looks as classic as ever...I like the Wyvern in haven and the druid with the barbies...
I love that it's not in ashan, naturally
ressources seem nice.

I don't think necropolis looks classical,Soulless warriors and Silent Assassins are skeletons which wields two blades and aren't core,but elite.Bone fiends are bone animals,I didn't see them in any HoMM games(bone dragons don't count).Flesh/Blood golems are something like in Diablo II.
I put wyvern with humans because it's overused in medieval coat of arms and I'm a bit bored of griffins.I'm glad you like.I wanted to give barbarians a Celtic air,so druid fits perfectly.
Resources are real,fluorite is a colorful stone(I think you saw it in Lizard's Perfect HoMM) and titanite is titanium oxide.Again I'm glad you like them.

Priests of Hermus aren't humans,they are a kind of reptilian-birdman(not decided yet) and also there will be two more factions,I'm working at them.

I hope you're ready for some... "constructive criticism" regarding the names of some of the creatures
Town Militia->Footman
Town militia is a mouthful, especially compared to its upgraded form.
Suggestion: Militiaman ---> Footman
Green Wyvern->Red Wyvern
Colors denoting the power of units seems uninspired (on par with dragons from past games, which many seem to dislike). Try to come up with a different name for the upgrade and just skip the basic color "honorifics" completely. The red wyvern can still be red though
Suggestions: Grim Wyvern, Crimson Wyvern, Imperial Wyvern
Trebuchet->Reinforced Trebuchet
While I don't have a problem with the names themselves, I feel that it seems like a weak champion unit. Naturally, it doesn't have to be.
Is your H7 vision including other, independent siege engines?

I just want to point out that you've also included a creature with a similar to the Bone Fiend; the Pit Fiend, though it's not a big deal.

I sense a slight dissonance in the names here, because Deathbringer sounds more intimidating than the upgrade.

Again, I think Beelzebubswarm is an overly long name. It also sounds like something from a JRPG. I get your intention, but I think it's better if you shorten the name to simply Beelzebub.

Pit Fiend ---> Deep One. Just my two cents.
Warrior->Berserk
Berserk is a state of emotion, the word Berserker is usually used to denote a person going berserk.
Suggestion: Marauder ---> Berserker (or in reverse)
Adept->Faithful

Thanks for suggestions,militiaman is more similar to footman as name and I like the Imperial Wyvern idea.
The trebuchet have more attack than normal champions(if a normal upgraded champion has 30 attack,the trebuchet will have 40),but also have low defense(if a normal upgraded champion will have around 30 defense,the reinforced trebuchet will have 15),also it will have area attack.I don't think there will be more war machines as normal units.

I saw the similarity of names between Bone Fiend and Pit Fiend,but I didn't find a new good name for Pit Fiend,so it will stay as this until I will find a new name for Pit fiend.

Hmmm, not sure. Your old Necropolis seems to be rather deep embedded into the whole setting, but if you change some other things it may work quite well!

Because Commune is affected by plague I want for champion a creature that isn't killed by plague,but mutated into something more powerful.Can be something related with Roc,a Roc mutated by Plague,or something like a giant raven.

I think I'm going to change the Subterranean Necropolis to a Medieval Necropolis and make another subterranean faction,still not sure.
Btw.Medieval Necropolis units: (just Core until now) I will make a special background frames for every faction
Revenant->Bloodsucker(or to rename them into Moroi?)
Gargoyle->Chimeric Gargoyle(souls of the dead imprisoned into hideous flying statues)
Shade->Wraith(restless spirits that dwell in both mortal world and the netherworld)

I have a lot of work to do at the proposal.First I'm not sure about the fortress pics,is a lot of annoying work to do at them,searching a lot to find suitable images,then rework them to fit my description.
Do you think I should make heroes III like pics,as I did in my previous proposals or to keep this style?
