"Well I can't say I wasn't expecting that." muttered Adal as he sped away towards Amenta and said to her, "You know your people skills could use a bit of brushing up. It's quite a walk back towards the camp, I'll speed our way."

Adal wrapped them both in shadows, which flew them through the trees and bushes back to camp. The shadows protected them as well, so no twigs or leaves were strung on them. Adal released the energy, allowing the shadows to disappear, and then said to Amenta, "There's a stream on the other side of the road a little bit towards the woods I believe. Enjoy."

Adal then strode over to the fire and began warming his hands.

"Cheers!" Adal heard before he flitted away, Edwin's voice still resounding in his head a long time after he met him. Edwin looked to the starry skies and smiled, he felt faintly happy after this encounter. He decided against following them and went back to his tent to get some rest. In a flight of fancy he was considering sleeping uner the stars, but decided against it, since he felt a storm was coming, though not visible in the air. He felt it tingle through the red and violet markings on his body.

The next morning our team of daring adventurers continued their way onto Mansraught and ended there faster than planned, somewhere in the late afternoon. The town was everything more and less than its reputation preluded. The town of Mansraught used to be a free city, but it was less because of its status as an economical super power, but rather, because of the incredibly harsh terrain through which it'd be hard to send an army and the rampant criminality, Mansraught having been pirate's headquarters not more than two hundred years ago. The name of the ton supposedly came from the conquering general who, after having gone through a lengthy siege and several nasty pitched battles, looked down on his conquest and achievements and the people he subjugated and said: "I can't believe what man hardships I have gone through to claim the worst of what man has wrought."

There are similar stories of a preacher saying something about this and some old, dusty philosophers claim it's just pirate slang for "Freehaven," probably originating from a southern dialect, mixed with the lizardmen's tongue.

But, really, the point is that Mansraught is still a rather rotten place, complete with all its crime and corruption. Pirates, prostitutes, syndicated crime, with several mobs and thieves' guild buildings and affiliations, and of course the smuggling. The only people who go here are people who yearn to go north from the Southern provinces to more reputable cities and the people who make a profit out of unlawful work. Darren had worked here several months doing odd jobs here and there, before he moved on to more reputable cities, like Dromand's capital. He passed by here when he went back to Hiltover and he didn't like it and he also knew what might be waiting for him here, now that he has returned, hopefully for the last time.

They decided that they would stay the night and each would take care of their own supplies and equipment and they would meet tomorrow, two hours before noon at the northern gates to go along with the usual departing caravan. Darren didn't know what they would do, if someone didn't show up at that time, so he expressed the desire that they cling together as much as possible, something which proved very hard when they entered several inns and none of them had more than three rooms open.

"You know we could just split up on our own happy little ways so long as someone else is with us. Like groups of people." suggested Adal to Darren. "I say four groups. Amenta can be with me. Either her or Obi...uh-sidian. But I'm sure he doesn't want to deal with me all that much, right?"

After receiving several glares in silence, Adal then said, "Just a friendly suggestion. Nothing important here..."

"I'm keeping a very stern eye on you, chaos spawn." Obsidian rumbled behind Adal, "Sie können mir nicht entgehen so leicht. But wandering around does sound like a good idea, there is time to go through and provisions to pack."

"First off, gnarly would describe one made of wood. Secondly, I believe we should find if these are worth anything." Obsidian pulled some small emeralds, sapphires and rubies out of that small pouch he hadn't opened before. ((You know... that one. )) "Thirdly, I need an ale."

Adal stared at the gems for a while before snapping back to Obsidian and saying, "Yes...that's ummm...quite good..."

Adal looked around, saw a sketchy bar in an alleyway and then said, "We could go there. Doesn't look too crowded. We could certainly handle ourselves there."

Obisidian and Adal entered a shifty bar, where a bartender greeted them. His arms suggested he also was the bouncer of the place. A raven flew right past Adal's left ear towards the main room of the establishment. "Aye, gents, whut ken eye be helpin' ya with?" he said. his voice was low and threatening. The bar was smokey and you couldn't see much, apart from women in scanty clothes being pressed to sailors and riff-raff.

"Master Templar?" Obsidian heard. "Yorrick, they're friends of mine, put it on my tab and bring em some drinks and rent em some rooms, will ya? It's not like Sonya can't shack up with Will, hey? Hehehe." Adal and Obsidian noticed the man, whom they know as Swain, sitting at a table in the corner, standing up, making a gesture to please come and sit down with them. A raven hopping around on the wooden table surface.

"Ah, good master Swain! How pleasant to see you again. Might I inquire as to the nature of your travel?" Obsidian asked as he walked over to Swain, rather loudly since the Templar apparently doesn't have an inside voice when he meets "Long lost" general acquaintances.

"Come, sit with me, templar. I am just on my way to the capital of the Ergitan Empire. It's a long way, but a certain issue has popped up that requires my attention. You know how it is. People ditch their warriors in peace time, until they sense the swords at their borders, you know? Now that my leg is fixed, I will probably be reaching high places. I owe you one, master Templar, I really do. If you were wondering what I am doing here, well..." Swain laughed. He seemed to be in an exceptionally good mood. Maybe he was drunk? Was this an act? "I decided to not draw attention to myself by staying with some very very old acquaintances."

Swain started to speak slower as he neared the end of that sentence. he looked at his glass intently for a few moments. "Now, tell me, who is this friend of yours? I feel as if I met him before, but, no offense, I'm sure I would have remembered a face like that." Swain said with zero tact. "Also, how come you're in this dirty part of town? I'd have reckoned you'd be in high class in no time, what with your... Talents and all." The bartender had come over and poured a couple of drinks at the table.

"Ah, I am traveling with a group on a search for a treasure trove that happens to pass by my old empire. As it is, we are not trying to draw attention to ourselves as well, I should probably by a cloak or something..." Obsidian murmured to himself, "but as I was saying, we are trying to be unauffällig... er, inconspicuous. This is one of my companions. Also, I am looking for a place to exchange gems for money, would you happen to know a location to do so?" Obsidian nodded gravely to the barkeep and downed his drink. A blue light glowed from the hole in his shoulder and armor and quickly disappeared as it was covered up by a layer of stone.

When the group arrived at Mansraught, Dragomir and Magnus immediatly went to the market. It was a busy day indeed as the people swarmed all over the stalls of the merchants. Dragomir had made the deal for the wyvern skins he had and sold the rust drake skin for an insane amount of money. given Magnus pissed off expression and the cold blooded eye look that Dragomir gives when trading had given them five times that the rust drake's leather is worth. Dragomir also bought some fresh mandrakes for brewing his Drakeshine. with coins tearing apart their pockets the duo first went to a bank belonging to the Gilded Pouch Clan to exchange the larger sum of the cash into gemstones. Over the time Dragomir learned that carrying your money like that is much less troublesome. the gems weight less and are easily conceable rather than a large sack of coins. the duo did kept some coin, mainly to cover tonights expenses.
Having got a lot of money in their bags, the duo went to the most prestigious and the cleanest inn, "The Dragon's Fang". upon entering they were greeted by the Innkeeper.
- Welcome to The Dragons Fang sirs! I'm Norek, the owner of this establishment. is there anything I can do for you?
- Greetings.- Said Drago- We'll want a double room for the night and something to eat.
- Aye, and a keg of yer finest somogon.- Magnus added
The innkeeper looked at the two curiously.
- Say good sirs, aren't you one's from the fellas that hunt the dragons? Dragonhunters? I've heard rumors about a duo, a human and a dwarf who are the best of their trade. The rumors go far, there's one about the dwarf which strangled a great dragon with his bare hands.
The rumor was highly blown out. Magnus did one time strangled a young marsh wyvern which was learning to fly and that day completely obliterated the last keg of Drakeshine, but it was out of pure anger and nothing more. the bards really did well and out of this simple and silly accident created an epic about a furious dragon slaying dwarf.
Magnus just chuckled at the inkeepers amazement.
Dragomir thought that this polite and hospital innkeeper won't cause no harm. After all, the dragonhunters were all vagabonds who didn't stayed long in one place.
- Why yes. I'm Dragomir of Merinanth, and my companion is Magnus Golbeard of the Iron Clan. We're travelling northwestards. we heard rumors there about huge prey there. Oh, I see there's a head of Dusk Lindorm decorating your fine establishment. that must've cost a fortune, given that it was hunted by us a decade ago.
The innkeepers eyes widened. Dragomir had a perfect memory of every dragon he slew and what happened to it's corpse.
- Indeed it was. well sirs, please take a seat untill i prepare a room for you.

((hope this hasn't died :/ ))
