But the vestal deals light damage and out of of 5 factions, there are 3 who are weak against light magic(demons, undead and orcish creatures too).
Which makes the damage dealt by the vestal in most cases better than the damage from lilims or spectres.

5-7 is a well above average damage for a Core creature, the thing is that her attack can not be retaliated against, puts the attacked stack to sleep and does extra damage against creatures with Light Vulnerability which automatically turns her into the best damage-dealer against Necropolis and Inferno. That's pretty major if you ask me. The nun definitely needs nerfing.

In my opinion, I like breeder, sun rider, centaur. But I don't like phoenix with blue skin and vampire with sword. And ceberus should have 3heads, not two.

... Why are there so many people here that tries to countersay everything just to make an argument. It's not her fault that some units are weak to light. And her Pacify spell does not hit 100% of the time. Anyone saying otherwise should resort to youtube for proof or just play the game.
The people on gamefaqs Pokemon Black board are so much more
friendly and helpful. And they don't start to argue with you but rather say something in a nice way.
I better not partake in this anymore. Have fun spending your time complaining about why H6 isn't H3 and whatnot.

Damn, you are touchy. What I wrote up there wasn't supposed to be offensive in any way.

If Pacify does not trigger 100% of the time, then it triggers at least 95% of the time because I don't remember a single case outside youtube where the Vestal's attack failed to disable the attacked stack. As for whose fault is that the creatures vulnerable to Light take too much damage from her - it's the devs' fault.

You should go to some w40k forums in which you would get flamed with warp fire for argueing against some space marine fan.Truly, the trolls there are demonic.Same goes for SC forums.
Also, the nuns need to be balanced, obviously they are not what they were intended for. They are direct damage unit now, lol.

It's better just to raise hands and forget whole argument than spend energy in fighting, no matter if you're right or wrong. That's at least how I see it nowdays. This goes for all of us.

The Haven nuns and sanct kappas.
Totally agree! The sisters and Vestals look like a grannys with wrinkles everywhere around htheir faces. I thought that they would look so beautiful like in the concept art but now she doesnt deserve to have the 'pacification'ability . Change this please Ubisoft!

Quote: We need Heroes 2 ghosts back!
But H2 ghosts without peasants are useless
On topic:
Like:
Praetorians: Nice look and I like the idea of a blocker unit that actually protects it's neighbors (although the auto retal and damage share need to be tuned down a little)
Ghosts: Finally a ghost that is useful and also looks good.
Breeder Mother: Like getting a few extra at the start of the fight.
Kenshi
Hate:
Lamasu: Reminds me too much of H3 Manticores which was one of my least favorite units.
Kappa: Look stupid and I didn't like the horned demons in H5 either.
Shark Warrior: the Zombies of H6 - slow and weak.
Storm elemental: roasting my army with chain lightnings /:
Strike and Return units (Harpy, Light/Shadow Elementals) : I'd rather have a real ranged unit. (hate them since h3)
Marksman : I want double shot back :/

I dun na how people can'ta be liking the Lamasu, it's the closest thing to da bone dragon we gonna be gettin' in this game!
Love:
Lamasu-It's like a sphinx and a bone manticore put togetha! Definitely the coolest creature I be seein' in any strategy game!
Kenshi-Nagas are essentially back, mah babies!
Succubus-Yah, the firing effect needs some work, but the model and melee be gorgeous!
Hellhound-Wonderful personality, too bad they be dead!
Griffin-Best and most realistic looking griffin in Heroes!
Like:
Juggernaut-Look at de Diablo in my Heroes!
Lich- Be looking crazy and evil sorcerer, mon!
Sun Rider-Pretty scary to see on the battlefield, no!?
Cyclops: Tall dark and handome, yah!
Dislike:
Tormentor-Just be demon!
Sister/Vestal-Nothin' special!
Hate:
Jaguar Warrior-Why we be needin' so many plain orcs after we got the mauler and Dreamwalker?
Spring Spirit-Why two of the same unit on the team?
Indifferent:
Everythin' else my lovelies!

I don't have H6 so I'm commenting on aesthetics only.
In general
I dislike graphics from Heroes5 and 6. They look too warcraftish. People who came up with the style are criminals. H6 is slightly least overblown, but it still has some traits of it:
- extremely exaggerated characters. There's no basic stuff, everything is either exaggerated, or more exaggerated or extremely exaggerated. Eventually you become desensitized to it.
- extremely shiny stuff
- very high contrast, highly saturated colors
- no subtlety. There can't be subtlety if the only way to make stuff stand out is to make it more exaggerated.
- lack of variety (whole factions in the same color)
The way H5-H6 artists depict uprades is by making creatures more exaggerated. For this reason, for me, most unupgraded creatures look better. Also for the same reason, Fortress might be the nicest-looking for me. The theme of Fortress, if there's one, could be "dust". Meanwhile...
Necropolis could be called "Green Glow", or "Green Team", "Team Angst"
Inferno is "Red glow", or "Red team"
Haven is "Yellow Glow", "Hollier Than Thou"
Sactuary almost qualifies too, but it oscillates between teal and light blue. Still, mostly 1 color creatures. All creatures look pretentious, and what do you expect if it's a samurai town.
Worst-looking town
Necropolis hands down. Radioactive green. They don't look any scary, creepy. More like plastic toys, action figures, or an american cartoon.
Second worst is Inferno. They don't look bad, mostly, just very uninspired.
-------------------------
Okay, now to specific creatures:
Like:
Harpy and Fury
Centaur
Cyclops
Timber Wolf
Spring Spirit (ingame)
Dislike:
Sentinel (Praetorian is off the scale). Really, this is a good example what, for me, is wrong with the style of H6. It's as basic unit as it gets, a core unit. Yet it turns out Haven is too cool to have less than elite soldiers. Everyone is elite, ultra-disciplined and famous all over the world. With a start like this, Haven looks hopeless for me.
The red crash test dummy with whips - very uninspired. Inferno in general fails to look menacing, demonic, or creepy.
Both green plastic spiders.
Lich (especially upgrade)
The death knight one. Or is it a revenant ? An albino ? A wight ? I can't tell by looking.
The seducers that look more ugly than seductive. Don' try to seduce me with a burning monster. If it didn't have seduction in ability description I wouldn't have figured it out myself.
The giant metal robot from Aliens
The guy with the weapon which takes 5 minutes to pull out from a dead enemy.

Okay, not to be overly negative - Heroes 6 style does look better, and a bit more subtle, than Heroes 5.
Quote:
I agree with most you say, but giant metal robot? That one escaped my eyes?!?
Hint:
It should be easier to guess if you have in front of you
1) the picture of the giant metal robot from Aliens
2) the concept artwork (not screenshot) of the creature I have in my mind. Look in this thread:

I have a good idea for another riddle. I'll add it to my signature.

Heroes1-4 factions were like ZOO's, but they were pure myth (dwarf, elf, sprite, phoenix, druid, unicorn).

how was it pure myth if it included things like snakeflys or named those cows gorgons(who were originally catoblepas)?Or when they use a behemoth-model that has nothing to do with the appearance of the behemoth in the actual mythology?
And those creatures you listed there appear all in H5
And how are heroes V and heroes VI less mythological?Just because their factions are now based around a certain race?
And yes, they also got some inspiration from other games,I think they even admitted that with the dark elves, but that was in H3 not different, where we had the gnolls and the beholders(both creatures, that were invented for D&D,even though the gnolls are based on the werehyenas, but the name was simply stolen anyway).
And the races have their standards in the fantasy genre, like elves being nature orientated, orcs being brutish and so on.
I mean wheres for example the big difference between the elf in the h1-4 games and the one in h5?
I don't see anyone,except for the fact,that there is also now a melee-version.

I still don't figure it out,the robot in alien was yellow and the only yellow units are in the heaven faction, but none of them look robotic or giantic at all,in fact none of the creatures look robotic...
