What is your 1st impression of the Academy?
Magic school: Order-Charm
Heroes: Lord-Nobility, Mage-Order
Creatures: Dwarf, Halfling, Gold Golems, Mages, Genies, Nagas, Dragon Golems, and Titans
Special Buildings: Treasury-Extra gold, University- Learn extra skills
What do you think of the new Tower? What kinds of strategies will you use based on our limited info? What do you think of the creatures? Do they meet your expectations? Do you like Order magic and it’s Mind control? Will you use this castle first?

First off, The Academy I guess will be the and excellent town against any opponent. They will have more gold resource than other towns which is equal to more troops you can purchase, adding the nobility skill of a Lord would kick ass!
Although, dragon golems I think are the lamest idea for a 4th level creature. Titans will be the more effective compared on both creature state because of it's chaos ward characteristic, although with poor health. Naga queens will always rock along with the golem. Halflings are back which is better than gremlins (yay, no need to upgrade to shoot), a giant slayer too (Dragons beware of the little guy). Dwarves are excellent guards for ranged troops while magi's will use spell to attack opponents and genies too.

Academy's creatures are nothing new or terribly exciting. I don't quite like the Dragon Golem, they just look out-of-place. But all may change because of the single most exciting new spell in the game: Flight. Order magic also has quite nifty spells like Town Gate, Forgetfulness, etc. I wish the creatures were more exciting to use.

Offensively: Dragon Golems' first strike and negate-first strike abilities make them dangerous - no matter who you attack them with, chances are they'll dish out more damage than you and may even kill off the stack before they attack. Genies and Magi can keep the pressure on with offensive spells (as long as they don't run out of SP), and Gold Golems dish out serious damage for their level.
Defensively: 4th level units have low health, as do spellcasters, but the Gold Golem is a 2nd level tank, so to speak.
Speed and movement: A few slow units, and only the Dragon Golem is quick.
Special: Order Magic may be quite powerful - suddenly your Mass Fervor winds up on the enemy, or your Medusas are petrifying your own troops! This will be the most disruptive to enemy tactics.

I don't think it will do the latter. The spell relocate beneficial spells on enemy units, not curses on your own units.

hmm, impresions
- the most magical town
- two units with spellbooks
- the most ranged units (halflin, mage, genie, titan) - mage with magic fist (8shots) and the genie with ice bolt (8shots)
- the titan (chaos ward) is almost immune to damage spells, since the chaos has the most of them.
- one of the strongest hand-to-hand units (gold golem, naga and dragon golem)

I meant via Hypnotize. Sorry if that was unclear.

Town of Magic, now it got stronger !
No new creature except mech. dragon, academy seems boring but it’s not so. Actually I think it’s a town fun to use and quite powerful. Well, maybe that’s my biased view coz I’m a tower fan in h3.
The creatures are only average. You got two spell casters here but they are too fragile. Unless the magic fist/ice bolt got some decent damage, I will opt for golem + naga. Titan and mech. dragon is a tough choice. An all-round powerful shooter vs a tough & dangerous fast tank. Hmmm, maybe we should look at the resource requirements first.
Heroes are definitely a plus for this town. Nobility is a killer skill. Lord may not be your main fighting machine but he can give you more resources and creatures. What can you ask more? In fact, one of the shortcomings of tower in h3 is the cost of everything. Now, you have lord as well as treasury to meet the stringent resource requirements as we can expect.
Order magic is also very good. You got some damage spells like magic fist, ice bolt and banish !!! Hmm, preserve fans may not like it. You got some nasty mass spells and now blind has a more powerful version. You can blind more than one units !!! And what about town gate. Magic is still the plus for academy.
When playing this town, you can have quick attack by developing your lord and rush your opponents with your resource and creature advantage. You can also play “defensive counter” or “build before attack”. University makes it easier to develop your heroes. Creature bonus of lord, diplo + charm tricks will give you more creatures and you definitely can wait till you got some killer spells.
I will try this town first coz I’m a tower fan.
thunderknight rules. Ha, I mean Solmyr rules.

LoL, wait till you see the complete structures and their cost. Everything seem to require gems.
And with Titan's dwelling requires 20 Gems, your n-th impression will be.. Oh crap, I am stuck with dragon golem.

My first impression, after playing that ridiculously easy tutorial (guess that's why it's called TUTORial), was... GOD I LOVE ACADEMY! The spells, the creatures, everything. Even the town graphics and music rocked!
And please, don't pick on the Dragon Golems. They're not exactly Titans, but they're good in their own way. Thery're quick, and has pretty neat specials too. So please, don't pick on them...

my first impression on the Academy is this faction uses MAGIC much, with middle-eastern appearances. perhaps it was originated with the legends of Ali-Baba and 1001 Nights.
