[H3]
Hey there
I've been a member here earlier, but have just recently started playing again, and I could not remember my nickname.
This is my 3rd map.
I have tested it myself quite thoroughly. Now I'd like you to tell me if there are any changes to be made:
-------> http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IO5BTXT9
A little peak at the scenary:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/685/alittlepeak.jpg/
Map specs:
- Small map
- With underground
- Good details, pretty good looking
- Single player
- Bulding restrictions
- Special loss condition: eliminate all enemies within 2 months.
- Difficulty: quite difficult, hopefully
I don't wanna give away too much, so this is what you should know:The map is called "The Swift Mission", because you are on a mission for your King. You have 2 months to clear the path to the underground where you will find 2 enemy castles with hero+army that you have to eliminate to claim victory. You have to move fast and smart through the landscape which is designed to allow you only to move through a specific path. I have tried to make it interessting and difficult to play. There are some necessary risktaking and leaps of faiths + some disguised advantages to be taken. I hope you enjoy playing it.
I have tested the map myself, and with all the knowledge of the map I had I was able to complete the map 10 days before due, without having Logistics or Pathfinding. However I suspect you won't find it as easy, atleast not the first couple times. I play on 160%, I'm not sure if you are able to complete it on 200%.
I hope you wanna try it out, I think you will like it!! So let me know if there are any bugs or things that can be improved
Best regards,
msm89dk.

So, you start with 20 marksmans, some zealots, one angel and a level 1 hero. First fight is 200 gnolls (easy) then next is 15 hydras, then next 15 giants (a few chaos and titans inside). Between the first fight and second/third there is nothing to do, no mines to flag, no leveling possible.
Edit sorry, I was mis leaded by teleporters colors, I will give again a try.

Have you completed the map? I've tried to make the amount of creatures you posses an amount that is just sufficient to prevail throughout the entire map. The map is really not about creature dwellings and mineflagging. There is just the amount you need to build what you need and so on. It's more of a destined journey that you have to survive... and you don't know what lies ahead of you, so that makes it a bit exciting; if you're able to survive or not..
That said, my main concern is with the creature stacks, if I should balance them differently, so please do let me know what you think Some of the creatures are beaten without any losses to your army, but that's no different to other maps. However the creature stacks do put up a fight as you go along..

28 days on 200%, save.
Strange bug, I selected Lord Haart because of his estates but even at 20th level there is no additional income from him, nada.
A bit unnecessary long because you have to upgrade troops elsewhere. The winning condition should be less than one month, it can be done much faster. Sweet map.

Thank you!!
Sick you did it so fast - can you walk me through your progress? (and please write SPOILER ALERT before, if you do so )I guess you did not wait to enter the tan border gate until dwellings increased? You had sufficient men from the get go to go forward or? And you probably had logistics and pathfinding which made it faster for you? I will maybe set to 6 weeks, but 1 month?
Edit: with the regard to the upgrade of creatures I made it as something I had not seen before, a little detail. You have to first realize that you need to use the portal to upgrade your creature stacks. Second you spend some time, but you spare resources+gold for buildings, and you can upgrade your creatures from week 1 instead of waiting until you have the buildings, this way you can have your entire army in the 7 slots..

So no castle and you could actually complete this map? How can you win against titans AND have enough army to beat the 600 gnollas without returning for reinforcements?

None of the fights was challenging, with 8 archangels, tactics, slow expert, and a bunch of fodder, 10 titans are nothing. Just select well your skills and nothing can stop you. If you want it hard, remove both prisons. 600 gnolls with 2 speed are just a breakfast.

But if you had 8 angels you returned back I just can't understand how you finished it in just 28 days? Ah, I see you were lucky to get Earth Magic Expert aswell, to put slow on all the enemy creatures.. that obviously makes it alot easier. I did 46 days without expert slow, logistics, tactics or pathfinding. Maybe I should just ban those skills

I only upgraded the first 2 angels and ran for the prisons. Once you get the prisons, you don't need to return back, Mullich can do it. On 200% it is imperative that the windmill gives you gems, so I reloaded a few times.

Yeah I don't reload when I play, and the windmill is kinda my "wheel of fortune" in the map, where you see if you get lucky to be able to have the much needed gems. So you also reload if you have a bad combat, where e.g. the enemy creature gets an extra turn and reach your marksmen? Because that happens sometimes which is a risk I calculated with to balance the stacks -> and I edited the above post, if you have not read it..

Well, you asked to play the map at 160%, I selected 200%. At 200% you need gems, otherwise you just wait and wait. So it is necessary reload.

Fair enough
So would it help the map to ban: earth magic, logistics, tactics and pathfinding?

I would not ban the skills the player enjoy the must. if you want it hard, either remove both prisons or put time limit at 1 month. With right skills it can be done.

Allright, that's a fair point, we'll keep it then. I will consider how to increase creature stacks optimally or how much to decrease the prison creature stacks (maybe remove the last one - the idea of the first prison is also to have him run back for the angels). But I'd like it to not be a map where you reload.. Can you try and see how fast you can do it on 160% no reload?

I only reloaded for gems, as without them you will never be able to pass the shooters, you need at least one angel.

When you get to the third "portalworld" there is a gemmine... until that point you can surely survive without the upgraded Angel
