Diplomacy x Hostile Creatures

I remember during some of my plays that I had set some hostile-never-flee lvl 7 creatures to bar some borders. One of the characters in this map was someone who had Diplomacy (and probably reached Expert lvl) and I'd often see her with one or two stacks of lvl 7's.

My question is, does (Expert) Diplomacy 'override' the most hostile-never-flees nature of creatures and allows the hero to take/hire them? It could very well be that the the lvl 7's I'm mentioning joined her because they were guarding some artifact, etc... and those I had not set as never-join creatures.

Many thanks.

If Enhanced Artifacts is enabled in WoG options, artifacts like Ambasador Sash, Diplomats Ring and Statesmans Medal will reduce creature aggresivity by one.

thx Draker, I know that and intentionally disabled this. I do believe totally hostile mosnters who never flee should never be recruitable.
