Homm WoG Troubleshooting
Hey everyone. Im getting a huge headache over not being able to launch the WoG program that everyone except myself seems to be enjoying.
Im running windows 7 and have Homm III from HOMM V Collectors edition. I downloaded the WoG3.58_plus_Era1.81 from this forum. I put all the files in programfiles>ubisoft>HommIII folder. I went through the whole process without any problems and now the program simply will not launch. It appears to be loading briefly and results in nothing. PLEASE find it in your heart to help a pathetic simpleton, its much appreciated

In that case ill put this in as simple terms as possible for you. The games folder is just your homm3 folder, where all of its documents are. Click your start menu and search "Install" , there should be a file called install with the shadow of death guy on the picture. Click on this and then pick russian or english (I think) and then NEXT, then NEXT again and you should then see a page with a picture of a centaur with a bow and wings, with a list of components next to him. Make sure all of these components are ticked and then click "Change path" in the bottom left corner of the box. Put it in your homm3 folder (It should be under computer/local disk C:/Program files (x86)/Ubisoft/Heroes of might and magic III complete. Then click install and once its finished it will be in the homm3 folder, i think that there will also be a wog shortcut on your desktop. Hope it works

Also I strongly recommend not to install games to "Program Files" folder. Win Vista/7 have a number of protections that may cause different kind of problems.

I'll second that. Causes really annoying problems if you're making or modifying maps.

So I can't find the info online but what I think is wrong is that the Homm III CD that shipped in the Homm V Special Ed. won't support this add-on...I actually hope this is the case cause im going to buy another copy to make this work for me.

I can't seem to able to install WoG. I downloaded six different files and whenever I try to install it I get a message that the WoG files are broken. I have HC, and windows XP. any help would be appreciated.

I solved all of my problems by just biting a bullet and buying HC off of gog.com then i extracted all the wog files in the homm folder.
