heroes V mouse and keborad not responding
I have purchased both heroes V standard edition and Heroes V collectors edition and I have gotten the same results from both.
When I first install everything works fine when I play the game for the first time, the second time I try to play the mouse and keyboard stop responding.
I can not click through the intro and when the map is done loading and it says hit any key my mouse and keyboard do nothing.
I end up having to use the Ctrl Alt Del to exit the game.
I have updated my drivers and even installed a new PCI card for the mouse and keyboard still the same results.
Please help and if you need any more info on my PC feel free to ask.
Thanks

Are you using any custom mods or patches?

I have installed all the heroes V patches but no mods.
It did not matter patches or not.
Thank for your response.

That's an odd issue. Since your PC does seem to be registering your mouse/keyboard (or else ctrl-alt-delete wouldn't work) have you tried shift-tabbing or alt-tabbing? There might be another program in the background that automatically starts up the second you start playing. It might be related to your keyboard/mouse (custom programs), a windows custom program or even a PC game program like Steam/Xfire.

I tried shift tab and alt tab same results, it doesn't seem that anything else is running.
Thanks for your post.

I got a tip that moving the ubisoft folder out of program files, and this seems to have done the trick.
I installed all the patches, but I'm not sure they took. How do I check to see if they all installed correctly.
Thanks for all the help.

Seems I wasn't much help heh, but you're welcome and thanks for posting back. I'll try and pass around the solution if I find anyone else with this problem.

I have found that you must install the heroes patches before moving the ubisoft folder form program files.
If you try to install them afterward they will not install correctly and the only way you can solve this is to totally uninstall and reinstall Heroes, install the patches then move the folder.

I fixed this problem on my PC
Had the same problem, I fixed the problem by copying input.cfg or input_a2.cfg (depends on windows 7/8/10)
to:
C:Users<my username>DocumentsMy GamesHeroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the EastProfiles<my username>
from:
<Program Files (x86)>GOG GalaxyGamesHeroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the Eastprofilesdefault_profile
