Strange, playing as a might blood Irina I was not given the option to not kill Changbo (it was greyed out.) though I personally feel magic secondary are better anyway (for purpose of creeping)

Quote: The one you asked is about converting orc town, i think to succeed you need to conver all 4 town to sanctuary, that means the orc's got converted too.
Other than that, i suggest not do anything related to blood, though i guess what define you as tear or blood is the path choosen in the first map, but then again maybe the choice in last map means you are granted an option to redefine your path, if yes, then better not do anything related to blood.
So let me get this right, if I'm tears then I should leave the secondary quest converting all orc towns in mission 3? It mentions it's the "path of blood" but like you said, your path is already chosen from mission 1....it's just that you get +3 might and magic power...are you sure completing this quest will change my tears route / campaign ending?

I use irina magic tear path. And i did convert all the town, but i still got tear final campaign.
But in the last map, i don't take any town which belong to haven player, which means i did the tear path right.
But if you want to take it, there is a way, sometimes those town belonging to haven player are taken by the inferno player, only then it is safe to be captured without making the quest fail.
Though, you can win with just 3 sanctuary town in last map, just kill boss asap, if it is listed as low threat, then you can rush to gerhart, and you will do just fine againts gerhart even if you do it in quick combat (i always quick combat all final fights).

You're welcome.
Well, quick combat speed many things up, other reason is i don't really care about score. The story is what i'm after, this one has better plot than the previous heroes i think.

What difficulty are you playing?
Still, that battle is easily winnable if not because of fire rain or fireball or anything he might cast unto you. But should you decide to fight, here is a reference from me.
Petrify your own unit, summon all kind of elementals, priority is to block shooters, and 1 elemental to protect you from big units. In my case i have all elementals (air, water, earth, light). Use all kinds of disabling abilities on that inferno (like time stasis). Water elemental ice bolt combine with your ice bolt can keep 1 unit at bay, they will never move if you ice bolt chain it.
If you are using tear path, it's much easier, since after tsunami you only worry about big units.
Also, summon phoenix.
Elementals might be weak if you have only 1 type, but have all 4, at level 25-30, it totals as 80-90 ish amount of elite creature.
Don't forget buffs like mass stoneskin and mass regeneration, and mass heal to keep them alive. Frozen ground will help, as does ice wall, why? the point is to delay this battle as long as possible untill all your elementals finish him, even mass ice armor can help, mass ice armor can reduce 1 movement, that will help delay the fight, and that combined with mass stoneskin should make all elementals tanky enough, the only problem is to stay alive from his fire spells.
Mass Purity and Dispell/Mass Dispell seems like a good addition, not necessary though.
Might not able to win this, but that should give him a good fight.
edit:
To counter his fireball or any spell he might throw to you, try cast regeneration, i think in high level it should be able to counter his most powerful fire spell. Use heal too. If you can counter his fire spell, hopefully with regeneration and heal, this battle is winnable.
Maybe Celestial armor 1 can help, i have that in my irina tear path magic class.

That strengthens my suspicion that actually AI is involved to no management in the campaign. It's one big cheat that acts outside of game rules in order to behave so and so.
They produce nothing, they recruit nothing yet they have an already existing army which they use up during the running of the game.
I was thinking of that because most of the times, there is an even scaling of their armies, the number of their creatures and their heroes and such despite of what progress has been made in the campaign. Everything is too neat and tidy, as if nothing has affected them, either good or bad.
It's kinda like they're scripted to wait X turns and then appear (not recruit) with Y army size and attack the hero's player. Sometimes I think they still get champion creatures long after having lost their last crystal mines, which is weird.
Maybe sometimes due to a miscalculation this army might march out as a whole or if the AI script gets to decide the size of the army that will be magically spawned, sometimes gets to mess up.

I think i can confirm your suspicion. In final blood campaign, after capture an orc town, a couple of orc troops keep coming freely each week to that town, all 7 kind of units, from goblin to cyclop. Though i didn't use them, because i believe it doesn't supposed to be like that.
edit:
Another thing, the first enemy i met are called kaonachi naga or something like that, when i capture their towns, not even 1 town has champion creature dwelling built unto them, but i keep seeing kirins in his hero army. When i check all underground teritories that belong to him, there are no champion creature dwelling either.

Kodial, in campaign style maps you basically have to custom design the heroes and scenario. I don't think of it as "cheating". I've made several maps of this type myself (for homm5), and the only way to make a competitive map that the map maker can predict the outcome & computer behavior is to make the map with a lot of computer scripting.
For example, when player 1 (human) captures Town X, then remove barrier and allow enemy hero to roam free, etc.

At those levels Irina can beat almost anything with very few troops. Something is broken in the spells. Just use one unit (upgraded kappas or sacred kirins is easier). Petrify own unit (should last 3 or 4 turns depending on tears or might path). Cooldown is 4 turns but you lose only petrification after acting in last turn so at turn 3 wait! and you can cast petrification turn 4 again.
Example with sacred kirins :
1. petrify kirins, AI does nothing or moves some troops close to the kirins.
2. cast heroism on kirins
3. wait then attack with special attack unretaliated except seraphins, cast any spell that you want
4. petrify kirins again, etc,...
With this Sanctuary wins any duel also and opponent can do nothing. I don't know if dispel works vs petrify own units since I couldn't test it, maybe someone knows the answer and a counter to this tactic, ...
edit : ok, tested. dispel cancels the petrification on ennemy units but not own units. So I don't see a counter to this . Sanctuary wins all duels flawlessly and opponent can do nothing except buff own troops and expect sanctuary hero runs out of mana.

I agree.
That petrify, +4 kind of elementals , and you could wipe most enemy in the map.
Petrify, then keep summoning all elementals. In Map 4, each will summon about 20 elementals per type due irina level is 25-30, so, about 80 in total, and elemental are very good elite creature, that means free 80 elite creature in 4 turn. Summon elemental is not that good if you only take 1 type, take all 4, and be surprised.
That, combined with other spells, means you already winning the game (even in hard difficulty).

Yes! I finally got around to beating the Sanctuary map 4 with my Blood+magic Irina. Hero rank too while on Hard!
I can definitely offer some tips should people want them, but I don't want to spoil anything for those looking for a fresh map.

I just finished sanctuary campaign, magic tear Irina.
+60% water magic power from the special buldings was insane against Gerhardt
It affected Yuki-ona and Mizu-kami damage, as well as Kirin's hailstorm and priestess' healing.

If I'm thinking of the correct map, there should be one in the Western side of the map, slightly below the centerline. Its set back a little bit and guarded by Kirin.

it's part of a quest so the location of the moon fragments is visible in the minimap (even in black area). You can also hire a lv 15 might hero and give him scouting 3 and then you can see all artifact locations.

Sanctuary campaign "restart map" help
Sorry for repeating my question but I am still confused.
When I replay the Sanctuary 1 map to try a different path, the water elementals guarding the staff is gone. I am fustrated because I failed to unlock the second-tier reputation ability the first-time around and missing out lots of blood/tear points on my second run only makes it worse.
I think this is a (minor) bug, because I also restarted the Stronghold 1 map and I still "picked up" the Sword of the Wolf again, although not at level 1, with the experience bonus. The programming logic is not consistent between campaigns.
Any way out of this mess?

^ I've already replied to that question before, so I'll just C+P my previous response:
Quote: I actually did the same thing, but getting to blood should be no problem. That quest carries over to the next map, and when I got to map 2 I had 249 Blood points, one battle later and I could upgrade to Flood Conjurer
Getting Tear points is even EASIER than Blood and should be no problem whatsoever even before the map's end.
...
and for the next time you try to restart, you're better off waiting untill Level 10 and then respecialization becomes an option, allowing you to redistribute your already earned skill points
ETA: getting to a thousant points isn't hard either. Second map gives you plenty of quests, one of them giving 300 (or was it 500?) reputation points practically for free. In my Haven Campaign, Anton reached Advanced Tears in the middle of the second map.
As far as I know, there is no way to make the Water Elementals reappear. Once you find a dynasty weapon, you get it permanently. Like I said however, don't worry. There are PLENTY of opportunities to upgrade your reputation, and you'll see, it'll happen before you know it

Coincidence? I think not!!!!
