Poll Question: Creature Tiers
Hi all,
I'm just interested: do you like the new tier system - core, elite, champion?
Or do you like the old system (tier 1 to 7) more?
I also added poll, just to see the results.
Personally I like old sytem more. Maybe it's just because I'm not used to new one, i don't know, but it changes game too much. Ofcourse not only this is new, but there's alot of other new things..some are good, some are not (my personal opinion), but tier system somehow bothers me

It's a mixed blessing. The idea was to make units of each tier work together, but it wasn't exactly carried out for every faction (see Inferno's elites which aren't exactly about teamwork), albeit for, say, Haven, I like the idea of a tanky core+damage dealing core+healing core.
I wouldn't mind more creatures though, an extra core+elite+champ per faction would add some interesting choices if it was balanced well.
For the 1-7 tier system, it wasn't bad, but it kinda lacked... integrity? not sure how to put it.

The cool part is that they switched to the new system when they had almost fixed the flaws of the old one with the explanation... that the old one had flaws.
I myself remain somewhat neutral. I don't fully understand the reasoning behind the change nor I like the execution very much but on the other hand there are some neat things in the new system which could be expanded further (if someone is willing to do so that is).

They're both fine. A unit is a unit. I currently enjoy the H6 system more simply because it's different.
Even in H5, the tier system was somewhat nebulous, as creatures of the same tier varied somewhat in weekly production and overall strength on a unit per unit basis. Core creatures have more potential to retain their strength on the battlefield in late game H6. In Heroes 5 they became obsolete at a faster rate, and instead they maintained a degree of late game usefulness through some sort of special ability (imps had mana drain, peasants were taxed, etc.)

I dont care about the structure but what i like is the fact there are no useless units now. Core creatures is what its supposed to be now, the core of the army.
