I have installed Era II, full installed, with all tools and mods. So I already have all modding tools needed? That would be super-great
Also I want to know what is the official modding thread of this or other forum to ask all questions related to modding. (I don't want to use random old threads to start with my questions or start too many new threads that probably will be duplicated because some other asked before me).

Hello and welcome.
All depends what you want to mod. Its quite hard to answer to you...
If you want to change things like creatures ability, spells, heroes' speciality... Here you must know how works ERA's writings. All talk about ERAII shall be good.
If you want to change creature, buildings,... looking (the .def of creature or building) you need some tools like MMarchive who helps you to open game's files where you can find all images and .def you would like to change. There is also some files are "tables" you can change with tools are provided with ERAII as I remember or here :
https://sites.google.com/site/sergroj/wog#TOC-MMArchive-v1.2
If you search some datas to change things you have "all era mods" where many things are (stored by Salamandre) and Fred has made a storage of mannnyyy graphics things who may be of use for modders (if you search for graphics).
You can also go here : http://www.wog.acidcave.net/bank_stworow_15._neutralne_iii.html
Creatures are linked and easy to search even if its in russian.

Thank you FfuzzyLogik
For now I'm just trying with basic things, I can open a mod that Salamander made to me which converts Archers and Elves in Sharpshooters; also Mages and Monks in Enchanters. I've opened with the Era's ERM Editor.

I would want to know all the creature codes to put there which I want to transform in the Hill fort.
For now I'm planning to add Halflings to M. Gremlims and Peasants to Pikemen.
Is there a link with all codes?

Whoops, very sorry Avatar. Google translated automatically so I didn't see the language. Anyways, even if you can't translate,
its very nicely done and you can go from page to page and find creature you want quite easily. Thanks to authors and persons who made these sharing pages.
Normally you get a manual's guide where functions are written on and you can learn basics. Creatures are listed on there and spells too... So in your command you can find the associated creature for example.
Here you can simply read : U (pgrade command I suppose) 3 is creature number 3 (archer) / 137 can be upgraded in the 137th (sharpshooter if I'm right).
The creature are listed from pikmen (1, 2 halberder) to troll (144) in normal game.
You can also try to open some mods and so knowing what they do, understand how they're written. But I'm sorry to not be able to help you on this being myself a noob in ERM language...

Thanks for the help, which you describes is what I suppose, but I don't want to make try-error steps to find my desired creature... I can't believe 20 years after there isn't yet a list for all creatures, also spells, skills and so. What is that "Manual's guide" you mention? I can't find it in the mod's folder or internet.

WoW! didn't noticed that (testing too many mods!). This is the most comprehensive manual for a mod I ever knew. Thank you!
I've added not only peasants and halflings, but golems and other creatures, it is working like a charm, and not only in Hill Fort, also it can be done in any town with the "all upgrades" script checked.

Hi to anyone still lurking here.
I see all the links to working files in this thread have long since expired.
But I still have my original 3.59 scripts if anyone wants them. Perhaps some of them could even be included in ERA if anyone likes them enough. (I personally really like the random events scripts)
Sadly, I *don't* have JimV's versions that revised some functions and variables to make these more compatible. I think I did download them at one point but if so I can't find them.
Salamandre, are you still around? If you want the scripts again I can email them to you.
Or I can email to someone else. Let me know if any interest.

Hi Fnord,
nice to see you still around
I am sure some people are interested in these scripts. Currently, a lot of movement is in WoG/ERA options, if you upload and share your scripts here with us would be good.

Thanks, Rerry.
I could upload and share them here, sure...but I think I need to upload them to a site and link to it, right?
If so, can you recommend a good free file hosting site for this purpose?

One of the other people on this board introduced me to Mega. It seems to handle large files well, and both upload and download times are reasonable.

Here's a link to my scripts:
Fnord's 3.59 Scripts
Note: some need editing because of 3.59-specific code that wasn't included in ERA etc. (e.g., local negative functions).
All are welcome to use these for any (legal) purpose, edit as you like, and include them in ERA or other mod or maps (please credit me for the original).
