Problem with the Heroes V Map Editor
Hello,
I have recently had this problem with the map editor. I posted this on the ubi forums, but I haven't gotten a response in the three weeks it's been posted, and so I figured I'd post it here. This is the exact words I said HERE.
I have been having a problem of late. I've spent hours upon hours creating a custom single player map. I had been testing it periodically, but for some reason, and I have no idea what I did to cause this, I can't play it anymore. When I go into single player and create a custom game, I can't click on the Start Game button. It's grayed out, where I can't click it. I can't figure out what the problem is. I've read the editor manual and I tried talking with Ubi support, but they said that "They can't help with anything relating to the editor". Does anyone know a fix to this? Any help would be much appreciated.

If you upload your map or e-mail it to me I can try and help. Unless you're getting "map corrupted" messages, usually it's just something minor.

I wasn't sure where you meant to upload it, so I uploaded my map onto one of my websites. Here's the link: MY SITE LINK
This map is still in "beta" stage, so it's not even close to being done, but, like I said in the previous post, I was still testing it when it became unplayable.
I would take a screenshot to show you the problem, but I can't take screenshots of the main menu. It just comes up as a black screen. Sorry for that.
EDIT: I didn't want people stealing my map, so I emailed you the link instead.

Looks bad. I get crashes when attempting to view Player 2's properties - which is unprecedented. I fear it may be corrupted, but there are ways to work around this and salvage your progress. Will post again shortly.

I wonder if this could have happened from me updating from 1.5 to 1.6 sometime in the works of the map? I probably shouldn't have updated in the middle of me making the map, but I wasn't thinking about it at the time....

Has anyone else ever experienced this issue, or thinks they can help? It would be much appreciated for any information at all.

With your statement that you "updated while making this map", I think Cepheus is correct; the file is corrupted. I've lost a couple of maps to corruption issues and they were much lesser events than "updating".
So you have no saves at all? Better to restart with some of your work if you can. I save my maps all the time and in a My-Maps-folder I created outside of the Editor.
This is not what you want to hear but the times I had to do a complete restart; I ended-up with a better map. Hopefully you'll find the same at the end of this hassle.
You could always do the save this map eslewhere & re-install but I don't think it will make a difference since each map is its own set of files.
A very long shot might be to open this map and a new working one (of the same type) with RAR etc. and compare the files but that may be a total-waste of time too. I don't know.
Good luck

Thanks for your help. I think I need to reinstall, because now I can't play any maps that I create with the editor. Not even a brand new one. But those are great suggestions. I think I will just have to save a lot more often. I appreciate all the help everyone has given me.
