Hehe, I've already found a mistake in H4...
If you look at centaurs, they are carrying 5 spears with them. But they only have 4 shots... hehe
Anyone else find something strange like this?

Well, it's got to be better than the 'spontaneous regeneration' of some of the ranged weapons in Heros 3(such as the master gremlin ball and chain)

...actually I agree that there is something a bit strange going on there. It seems a bit deceiving at the angle portrayed, but it seems that all the spears are too short. Even for keeping one as melee, then therefore it can only melee? ...because excluding accuracy and the wind factor, it would be much more effective to use a longer, but straight shaft...or whatever the wooden part is called. From estimation, I would say that a normal spear should at least be as tall as the carrier's shoulder...so I'de say it does have 4 shots...but four puny shots, for such a strong creature...at least I'm assuming it's supposed to be strong, because if it was a spear thrower, characterized by a man, then it would make a bit more sense to have shorter and thus a lighter load...yet, I could be wrong, but when engaging in battle, they would usually drop the majority of their weapons onto the ground, and pick them up when they are prepared to launch again.

Since when has any of the Heroes IV creatures made any sense or been in correct proportion? Everything in Heroes IV is disproportioned, exaggerated, colorful and clumsy, the centaur no exception.

They have short spears, and thats the reason why they have the short range ability.Dmg dealt by centaurs will decreased alot if/when the range will increase.
In other words, they are semi-ground/semi-ranged unit.
They are still a great lvl1 unit(high dmg, high hp,high dmg),good thing they are in stronghold cuz with such a low growth(9base) for a lvl1,they would have problems to keep up with hordes of same level units.
