Poll Question: Favorite Academy creature?
Now that Dungeon is (finally) over, we can get on with the polling. Now, what is your favorite magic-y creature?

I was torn between Golem and Gargoyle, but went with Golem after all. Yes, I do love Armageddon, Fire Wall, Meteor Shower spam^^
Oh, and Gargoyle's stone plate attack is the epicest attack animation ever

Rakshasa. That was one of the coolest creature innovation in years.
I would have gone Gargoyle, if I did not think that gargoyles fit better in other factions. And truth be told, I think the Heroes 5, Epitaph Gargoyle was the worst one I've seen in years.
So Rakshasa.

Rakashas are nice and unique, but I have a sweet spot for Djinns and efreets.

Gargoyles... Y U NO FLY FASTER?!
My vote goes to the Mage. Love their mumbling of destruction. In terms of appearance, the Battle Mage was my favourite creature in the game.

Even having voted for the cats, and loving them for their coolness; I actually think golems and gargoyles are the most useful units.
Gargoyles are probably *the* best tank pound for pound; someone did some major analysis on the tank thread and even though Treants feel better if you do a major breakdown the gargoyles (obsidian) come cheap, plentiful, tons of hit points and nearly magic immune. Treants are expensive and more vulnerable to dark and destruction. A defending obs gargoyle horde stack while you blast/summon just takes forever to wittle down (unless its like week 5+ or something).
Magnetic Golems are just awesome for sitting in a corner, hitting defend, and mashing Armageddon (destroying everything and healing the golems in the process). Again immune to most dark is huge.
When I finally get cats, after the mages and library, the game is later stages and the cats don't seem to act until my phoenix or fire elementals have been summoned. Plus they are $.
But I still voted for them because they are cool. Titans are also cool but not new to H5. Mages I don't like even though their spells are useful, their animations take too long. Djinnis die too quickly, gremlins are fun but unless Havez not a game maker.

I've always been a sucker for the Djinns, so my vote went to them.
When it comes to sheer fun of playing, I'd probably say either Mage, Rashkasas or maybe even Gargoyles (I love using them as blockers)

Wow. How can you even put "golem" and "too weak" in the same sentence?!? Magnetics easily can kill ANYTHING, meteors, armageddon, other stuff... of course golems win.

Magnetics DIE surprisingly fast to physical blows. Steel Golems are the undying ones imo. Their only Achilles' Heels are Ranged Fire and Destructive Dungeon.
Still, with that puny initiative of theirs they hardly ever act anyways, even with Expert Haste.

golem in H3 :
35 HPs, 4-5 damage, attack 7, defense 10, speed 5
in H5 :
24 HPs, 5-7 damage, attack 6, defense 6, initiative 7, speed 4 (actually 2.8 per turn)
ok, they got a bit more damage and unlimited retaliations, but lost a lot of defense.

If there is any way Rakasha is gonna lose, I don't see it.
Unofficial winner: Rakasha
Unofficial runner-up: Djinn
Just saying. I vote or two for golem throws Djinns under the bus.
