Pit of War
So... anybody else playing this? As a non-fan-to-anti-fan of the MMOs (and pretty much everything that they stand for), I must say that I'm fairly impressed. The guys behind the game seem to be really dedicated, judging from the quality of the artwork and the pseudo-lore of the game, as well as the ongoing support and improvements over the initial version. Do check it out at the very least.
More details if it turns out that I'm not the only "gladiator manager" here.

It looks like a cash-grab to me. Well, I can see how it could be fun to meddle with it for a few minutes per day, but after you spent your daily token and did your contracts (all of them aimed at .
If you like it for the art style, I understand, but the combat seems kinda shallow.
I think kingdom of loathing is a better browser mmo experience, but whatevs.

Of course it is, which of them isn't? There's one guy in the forums who claims to have spent some 1000$ on his uber-gladiator to get him to the top of the ladder, sick story. More than 95% of the people seem to be casual "free" players though and from what I've seen so far it's perfectly possible to exploit everything which the game has to offer without paying a single penny. It's just slower (well, much slower, yes).
As for the rest - it depends on what you are looking for I guess. I don't have the time or the patience to sit constantly in front of the PC just to keep up with a legion of noobs who play non-stop so the thing that you don't have to log more than once a day (even once every few days) is just fine for me. Each of these sessions requires no more than 15-30 minutes of dedication which is another thing that I particularly like. You don't get eaten by some fat (i.e. paying) monster just because you are not paying yourself - at least not on the lower levels - you just progress slower, which I have no problem with.
As for the battles - a matter of taste here and I like them. They aren't as shallow as it may seem at first, especially when your gladiator unlocks additional fighting styles and strategies.
