Era Start Menu - MMArchive (snd/lod/vid editor) - open Mods\WoG\Data\hmm35wog.pac or Data\h3bitmap.lod. You will find many txt files there.

Every time I try to open the h3w editor this error appears, I got no problems with the original one, what could cause this issue? I use win7 64-bits.
Thanks in advance

Last week I bought new computer with win 7 already installed. Heroes editor gave me crash on exit, but no specific error.
Later I broke my HDD (yeah, it lasted one day) then had to buy a new one and had to install win7 myself. Now Heroes run perfectly, no error, go figure why.
Manipulations I did on win 7: right-click on the program (H3wmaped in this case), set administrator mode and all the bla bla latest windows love to torture us with. Also try first to run editor without any mod except wog, just to see. Make sure H game is not installed in default program files too.
Also use gog version, it costs less than 8$ and is very stable.

Where can I find more detailed descriptions about these plugins?
I mean what each of them do exactly?
In this folder
..\Heroes 3 Complete\Mods\WoG
was unable to find more info.

I believe u can't but they are all more or less self explicative. Try the others to see what they do.
Oh, primes can go up 128 but then they drop to zero but in the last pages of "60 mods..." Val posted a mod to solve that.

Hi,
the erm help in Era has the same bug as the old WoG erm help files. On *nix systems case matters. So f.ex. a file <base_dir>/other/about.htm does not exist, but the file <base_dir>/Other/about.htm does exist. And there are tons of similar bugs. I'll try and correct them, until the pages look o.k. I could then zip it up and upload it to somewhere, if anyone is interested.
Until then, i have some questions.
For my own set of scripts i need about 100 v variables, each 50 of them consecutive, if possible. So is there a list which variables are free to use? And i need a list of used or free function numbers to use. I used these scripts as a complete replacement for the old scripts before Era, and now i think i could rework them to fit to the existing Era structure.
I think i will have more questions, but first i'll try to make the erm help readable
BTW, i'm currently checking the claimed list for finding a free range. But to be more secure i check the variables in the scripts as well. And found used variables not documented in claimed list.
I'm using this on the scripts:
for f in *.erm; do cat "$f" | egrep "v27[0-9][0-9]" >> v27.txt; done
In this case because claimed list does state nothing about v27xx. I found v2700 to v2708 beeing used. Don't know which script though So if the list could be updated?
I'll continue testing. If i find any more used but not registered variables i post them here.
Update:
v2800 - v2808 used. Code seems tom be the same as for v2700 - v2708?
v2900 - v2999 free. I'll use some of these.

I noticed an inconsistency with the Luck/Morale bonus/reduction introduced in WoG and I think it started when I installed the Negative Luck plugin so it might be ERA II related. Here's what I noticed.
When facing Arch Devils luck is indeed reduced by one and Misfortune further reduces this amount to a total of -3.
However, when WoG creatures are present then this is what it happens:
While facing Hell Barons, luck is automatically modified by -1 (instead of -2) and it stays like this regardless of spells, hero's luck etc.
When the Hell Barons are in your army the outcome is the same, enemy's luck is fixed on -1.
While facing Supreme Archangels, their morale is only modified by +1 and not by +2.
When the Supreme Archangels are in your army all work well.
While facing Ghost Behemoths, their luck is neutral and not +2.
When the Ghost Behemoths are in your army all work well.
While facing Blood Dragons, they work fine
When the Blood Dragons are in your army, enemy's morale isn't altered at all (should be -2).
Is there a way to fix this?

Siegfried said: the erm help in Era has the same bug as the old WoG erm help files. On *nix systems case matters. So f.ex. a file <base_dir>/other/about.htm does not exist, but the file <base_dir>/Other/about.htm does exist. And there are tons of similar bugs. I'll try and correct them, until the pages look o.k. I could then zip it up and upload it to somewhere, if anyone is interested.
i'm interested. the "what's this?" function never works in the map editor for me. i'm sure i could make any help function you fix for era2, work on the map editor i run; after seeing what you did.

@Lord_Immortal
Please can you remove your pointless error message covering half of this page? Those kind of reports can't be tracked anyway. Thanks.

Is not easy, but manually, yes, you can. Make a mod, check battles stacks types, when a type corresponds to what bugs, adjust luck/morale. But this should be done at each battle action, to have luck.morale parameters updated if the stack dies, for example.
Or someone to make a plugin. This is work.
@Siegfried:
In general erm help gives valid ranges of free vars. But that feature is old and some mods may change that list. Also, have you considered usage of SN:W vars? They are unique and virtually UNLIMITED.
Example:
!!VRv1:S1;
!!SN:W^Siegfried^/v1;
!!SN:W^Siegfried^/?y1;
!!IF:M^%Y1=%V1^;
And for loops:
!!DO12345/0/155/1:P;
!?FU12345;
!!HEx16:O?v1;
!!SN:W^Siegfried_Hero_%X16^/v1;
Using SN:W vars you can make mods which are compatible with every mod out there, as long as they don't use your codes (for example your name in code root)
As for functions, from Era manual:
Script-writers and plug-in creators may use values in the range of 40000..134217727. The tie to the 0..30000 range for ERM functions has been removed.
@fred79
Look HERE, download the file corresponding to your OS, double click on it to install, then your editor will be ok. Is because *hlp files are no longer supported by Vista/win7 and later.
This fix will enable them.

Me neither. I installed win7 one week ago and editor help stopped working.
Went to b*tch about in russian forums then I simulate knowing what's about by quoting what they said to me. + the link they gave me.

Siegfried, generally speaking, mod "WoG" in Era package has the same list of claimed variables as 3.58f. Functions are unlimited, though some mods and plugins, including Era, use a few ranges like 77000..77XXX, 89999, etc.

Hi Fred
O.k., it will take some time because i have only some time at weekends (and yesterday, because of 1 day vacation), but i will upload the corrected erm help when i'm done.
But this help has nothing to do with the editor. It's just update the erm help so that it is readable on every platform, not just only windows.
Update: I have done the corrections i hope. The files may be downloaded from http://www.rorkvell.de/h3/Ermhelp.tar.gz
If anything is wrong or missing i'll update this file.
