2 options, a) disable the option "new battlefields", b) install Morn battlefields mod. Any of them will solve your problem.

Hi friends,

I'm having a problem about upgrading a LVL 7 to LVL 8 via Hill Fort, the price for example for a Black Dragon to Darkness Dragon was something insane like 500 ish sulfurs and some crazy gold. This wasn't like this (the prices) before with earlier versions.

I'm using ERA 2.7.4 by the way.

Is there a option that did this or should i edit files ?

Hi, everyone,

I'm playing the game after years and wanted to try wog.

Game is gog version 2.0.1.17 complete. I added Era 2.7.4 and these mods (from list.txt):

Map advanced Infos
Neutrals split
Trainer
Quick Savings
Morn battlefields
Upgrade ALL
Hms Improved
Overflow_Fix
Secondary Skills Scrolling
Spells uncovered
Fast Battle Animation
Advanced Battle Hints
Army Management
WoG Revised
SoD
Yona
WoG

I'm having trouble playing ALL the campaigns, in the sense that only the first scenario of every campaign is wogified, from the second one they are not.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm currently playing the original campaigns with Era 2.4.6 and it's wogifying everything without issues. I've set it to automatically wogify all maps, without asking for confirmation.

Okay, people. I found out the problem lies in Safe SoD messing around with my wog settings. I disabled it and all seems to be okay.

Of course, I manually turned off many wog features which have no place in the old campaigns (mithril, commanders and a lot of other stuff) but I don't mind at all.

I also noticed that with Safe SoD disabled I have access to the Disable Messages menu, Hidden Skills menu, Bank menu, Secondary Skills Scrolling, which previously didn't work. So it's all good.

Problem is that now I can't play SoD! How do I fix that? Is there a mod that gives me access to the wog campaigns (which I have not yet played) and wogified SoD?

I use Original Interface mod to play SoD campaigns. It has a small bug, in that it displays the wrong names for SoD campaigns when you mouse over them. I've fixed it by editing some .txt files. You can get my fix from here. Just unzip it into your game folder and activate it.
And when you want to play WoG campaigns, just disable Original Interface and you'll be able to access them.

Safe Sod mod was created to allow safe playing of SoD campaigns with interface mods, but not with wog scripts. It does what it says, the closest game play possible to SoD, but with script support. If you remove safe sod then wogify with xz options, I will not guarantee your game can be winnable.  

Of course, if you know how to script, you can add to safe sod the scripts you want.

Hi, Salamandre.

Yes, I understand the purpose of Safe SoD but I think something went wrong there. I don't know for sure how, but as I explained in my first post, the second scenario of every campaign I started wasn't being wogified. Looking at the settings, I found that the wogify options were always reset to "wogify random wog map", even if I didn't touch them, so of course the scenario wasn't being wogified.

On top of that with Safe Sod many things were disabled: Disable Messages menu, Hidden Skills menu, Bank menu, Secondary Skills Scrolling, the new backpack, etc. so I just removed it.

I started some campaigns and now it seems all is ok. I advanced to succesive scenarios using cheat codes just to test and they are being wogify correctly. Of course I disabled a lot of the most intrusive wog features that weren't meant for the old campaigns but I still use a lot of the new mods.

Is it possible that I installed something wrong? Is there a particular order to follow in the mod manager?

And I have another couple of questions.

1. How do I change "Quick Savings" keys to s and ctrl+s instead of s and F5?

2. Is it possible to use change Neutrals split to use ctrl+Rclick?

If you tell me where to put it or which lines to change I can do it but nothing more. This code might as well be hieroglyphic to me.

Great news! Today I had the time to try this code and I was able to resolve both issues!

Kudos to you, Hawaiing, and many thanks for stepping in when the mods' author couldn't be bothered to help.

Moderator edit: redacted the personal insult against Salamandre and handed out a -QP for it. End edit.

PS. Wog Revised is bugged too. It doesn't make ANY sense for a mod to reset my Wog preferences at every restart. What is the point of having custom prefs if a mod changes them every time I start the game? I solved this by deleting the settings.dat file in the mod folder. Of course the guy will tell me that's a feature not a bug.

solved by deleting settings.dat file? seems familiar to me.
sometimes WoG Options feature in mod menager corrupts settings.dat file (or any other name of settings it edit). I once thought I spoiled my mod but it was "only" the broken settings.dat (mod was fine just shipped default settings were not).

EDIT: Solution is of course to edit settings ingame if needed
