Hello, I'm having issues with ERA2 where it pops this error whenever I try running the game.
I've installed it on a GOG version of H3 complete, with HD and HotA.
H3 Complete and HotA run fine on their own, but whenever I try to run WoG I get this error:
Tried disabling all mods, but that didn't change anything, and there's no other H3 instance running at the same time.
Any pointers on how to solve this issue?

I got once weird error on ERA, similar to yours if I remember correctly. I installed other version and it solved my problem. I think that's the simplest solution.

I would also add to set your era executable to win xp/7 compatibility, I heard it works.

Which version should I install then?
Tried 2.7.7 and 2.7.6, both return the same issue.
Also, after taking another look at the error popup it refers to "D:Soft....." which doesn't even exist on my computer

Try to create that debug folder manual in your h3 folder,so it can create the text file.

yandex only russian registration :(
I had to jump through hoops to register on yandex in order to download this. Yandex uses a character confirmation that is uses russian characters when registering. My keyboard isn't in russian. After 30 somerefresh and a lot of luck I finally got a character sequence that was compatible with my non-russian keyboard. Please make another way for others to reasonably access this official download. I can't find it anywhere else. Thanks.

The launcher can't find file GAME_DIRECTORYDebugEralog.txt, so you have to create it manually:
1. Navigate to game directory
2. Create Debug folder, navigate inside
3. Create Era folder, navigate inside
4. Create log.txt
UPD: I don't know what's the reason but the game can't create folder Random_Maps and shows "Cannot create random map" message: creating the folder manually also fixes the problem.
Although the game create files without any problem.

Hello, currently trying to install ERA and had the same issues as the previous few guys. I uninstalled everything and used the launcher for 2.77 I found on the previous page. It works, but everything is very slow.. is this a computer issue or should I revert to 2.76 like they suggested?
Also, I put WoG Revised and WoG Plus in the mods folder and enabled them. This seemed to have removed all of my maps.

For speed, try to change values in heroes.ini:
CpuPatch=1
UseOnlyOneCpuCore=1
Change to 0 and see if works.
For maps removal, never heard such issue, I don't see how a mod can remove maps, there is no command for that.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
Also, I downloaded all of the scenarios from the mod folder and only 1 is multiplayer. Are there any other multiplayer maps that work for ERA2? I know there are a few on some map websites, but nothing explictly stating ERA, just WoG.

At Celestial Heavens there are dozens of old wog maps, try your luck. Vanadia Freedom is a great MP wog map. Wog maps should be compatible with Era, is just that you can't wogify them if they have internal scripts.

More problems with 2.7 (through 2.7.7)
I am running in Wine. The last time I set things up (years ago), I used Era 2.4x with the then-current HD patch and everything worked perfectly.
This time, I installed H3Complete into wine, then the current HD patch from sites.google.com/site/heroes3hd. This works perfectly. Installing Era 2.6.6 works, and I can use the mod manager, and HD-ify the h3era exe. There are some odd problems which I may write up separately.
Trying to install 2.7.7, however, fails. I have also tested 2.7.6 and 2.7, with the exact same results. My first problem is the missing DebugLog dirs (recently discussed in this thread), which I can trivially fix by creating them. This should be fixed.
After that, I get the previously reported problem that _core_.scripts.lua can't be found. The reported solution is no longer needed, however. All I have to do is move ModsWogDataScripts into the main Data folder. This gets everything running.
There is still a big problem though: New windows dawn by WoG only don't show up. So, for example, the commander screen is invisible (though it's still clickable, and you have to dismiss it to continue). This is because the default HD settings for ERA include "<Graphics.Mode> = 3", which fails (at least for my fairly vanilla Wine setup... what about real windows?). It needs to be 5. There are also a bunch of other bad settings, like ui.ext.swapmgr, which mean you lose some of HD's best features for no good reason.
So... I'd like to suggest that aside from a couple of minor bug fixes (scripts and debug folder location/creation), you coordinate things with the maintainer of the HD mod, as the WoG default settings could really use some updating.
I have one big outstanding issue: There's a VERY useful HD feature, Replayable quick combat, which seems to be unavailable when using Era. Does anyone know why, and how I can get it back (or something similar)?
Thanks!

Go to ERA: 100+ mods page 61, there is plugin for era replay battle, made by Igrik and he needs ppl to test it, so go ahead and use it
