it seems that the stack exp abilities aren't affected by the orb of vulnerability. is this by design or by accident?

So, by intention they should be? Just asking, as VCMI Bonus System does not see the difference between static ability and experience ablity in terms of mechanics.
Strange I've never noticed it in game.

Era II Update.
Version: 2 beta 2, build 3.
Download: The whole package or Update for the previous version
Changes:
Fixed bugs, optimized scripts, added forced priorities for original snd/vid's, improved erm scripts system.
All erm files (and ert files with the same names) are automatically loaded from "Data\s" folder at map start or when F12 is pressed. WoG options dialog does not validate the existence of files on disk anymore. The number of scripts is limited only by the amount of internal memory. If a valid (negative or positive) number is found before script name (ex. "50 Test.erm"), it's treated as loading priority. If the file "load only these scripts.txt" exists in "Data\s" then only those scripts which are written there (one script name per line) are loaded. In this case loading order is the order in which files appear in the list. WoG ini option "Alternate_Script_Location" is not used anymore.

I've got a little question...
Everyone knows that replacing single portraits/speciality icons and some other stuff could be problematic.
For example: I've got new battle *.def of Dracolich and TWCPORT.DEF with only Dracolich portrait changed. Then I install it. Then I want to install new *.def of Werewolf and TWCPORT.DEF with only Werewolf portrait changed. Now there's a problem. One TWCPORT.DEF overwrites another and in game I have only one portrait changed.
I know, I can unpack one TWCPORT.DEF, replace one frame and repack *.def with both portraits changed.
But...
Is it possible to make some kind of patch/*.dll plugin for ERA to load replacement graphics for single frames of *.def file from a folder or something like this?
I haven't tested that *.dll about Transparent graphics for ERA, but from screens it looks like game loads frames of animation from other source than *.def file itself, from folder "replace". Patch/plugin for replacing frames of portraits/specialities/anything else *def files could work in similiar way?
____________
Forgive me my horrible English...

I finally got around to reading this thread start to finish, and have to say I am disappointed in the silly bickering and personal insults from Hobbit and Alustor on page 2, who should really know better, but since it is over now I won't retroactively pursue it. All I ask is that there are to be no further non-constructive detractions from Bersy's titanic work here.
My intention has been to showcase it on the AoH news in the next update along with The Empire of the World IV and xuxo's H5 texture mod, but since ERA II is still undergoing very significant updates, I'm not sure whether to consider it out of beta. Do you (Bersy) know if there will be a sort of "definitive" version of ERA II released soon?

IIRC, the plugin that allows loading png graphics can do exactly what you want to make. However I recall having some troubles with it a while ago and I didn't bother to check how to fix it.

One man cannot safely guarantee the absence of bugs in a product of average size and consisting of many layers (such as SoD code, WoG code, ERM scripts and Era's code). That's why I released it as "beta". Currently all planned (according to the mental forces left ) functionality is implemented. The postfix "beta" is supposed to be removed after major bugs fixing and testing. Testing is when players try the game, like Valery did. I have 1 unresolved report on wog forum (because not reproducible on my PC with the same options and absence of clear log/valid crash address).
When we were talking with Valery last time, the conclusion was made to implement the infinite number of scripts and stop making changes. But in answer to the TEW's map author I said that there is no way in writing code in a hurry. Seems that Salamandre got out of nerves (only releasing map could remove the strain) and disappeared for some time. I really cannot do anything about this problem.

My nerves are ok. I ran hundred of hours tests on first ERA beta-on TEW- and I have no more forces left to run again on further beta(s), I experienced Heroes overdose. I can't release such map without doing at least one full test if parameters changed, but physically I can't anymore.
Map is too complex to just let others testing it, they will have no clue what's about and how should work.

What kind of troubles? And where can I find this plugin? I tried to search here and on DF2.ru, but actually I failed.

here. I think it created graphical glitches instead of normal images and it used up quite a lot of memory. Could have been older version though.

The average test takes 10 minutes. If game runs, map starts and 7 days pass without problems. Valery is making self-exhausting work.
