Hi! So does H4 multiplayer just work with Hamachi? Or there is something you must do to make multiplayer work? We tried with Evolve and H4 MP didn't work (we couldn't even see each other's games). Other games work with Evolve just fine (H5 for example).

I would reccomend using Gameranger.
Heroes IV is on the list of supported games and Heroes 3 is played regularly there, too.

In any case, as far as I know, you need the same language version of Heroes IV to play, and also with the same mods if any (specially ones that overwrite files)

I disagree with you. Basically game by gameranger is slower and it not support Equilibris version which is surely better for online game.

Thanks! Though Gameranger is a very strange service(I don't understand how it works: Hamachi and Evolve just create virtual LAN, which is understandable). And we need Equilibris.

I suggest to try hamachi - I am using it for last 10 years and it works. Try to join eg. this network, so we can try your connection:

Too late. :-( My friend had a problem with installing Equilibris (on the same gog version) and is tired of all this voodoo. Besides he doesn't want to use hamachi...

I used it too for 3 years, and I must say, I am impressed. I didn't have lag, until now. (Which wasn't only for me, it was for my entire family). Anyway, it's nice I recommend. You can play created maps by the way, also cool.

You can use Equilibris on Gameranger by renaming the .exe to the name of the original one, if I understand how that works.
GameRanger also creates a virtual LAN, the only thing it provides are the game lobbies.
(please don't correct typos, it's annoying : P)

Interesting. But I couldn't find any information about this virtual network (IP). And it doesn't create network adapter (both hamachi and evolve do).

The problem with hamachi is that you can have only 5 players in 1 network, unless you will buy premium version.
We have H4 chat for players but usually it is empty whole days...
