new scenarios?
Hi everyone,
with the original game only came a single scenario-map (besides the campaign). I was just wondering whether in the meantime there were published some more, including inofficial or fan-made maps. I am not talking about skirmish-maps, but real scenarios.
greetings,

Scenario add-on inquiry? Answer: yes.
You did not patch the game, yet? Obviously, you did not.
Included in the patches 1.2, 1.3 and, 1.4.0 are your many single player, Hot-Seat and, MultiPlayer maps. Very large and time consuming maps if you ask me. Even a new designation of map size called: Gigantic, is used to describe one of them.
Then, patch up and, enjoy the Human vs. Human gameplay of MMH6 v.1.4.0.

Thanks for your reply!
I am a little confused now - the game is up to date (1.4), even considering that it is on auto-update. Nevertheless it shows only one scenario map (it shows several multiplayer and skirmish maps, yes, but only one scenario).

Sadly you just missinformd the little guy.
Some maps have been added in the patches but n o scenarios.
There are now only two official scenarios for heroes VI
The premium Heart of nightmares for colectors edition and the christmes hunt scenarion that was available in december. Other scenarios, if they have been made, must by looked for on fansites.

Thanks for the reply.
Allow me two questions:
1) Is it possible to purchase the Collectorīs Scenarios (Heart of Nightmare) separately, via DLC? I wanted to purchase the Collectors, but it was sold out or not available in all stores that I checked.
2) Do you know some fan-made scenarios?

OK. Let's clear things out here. Once and for all.
All maps made by the game's developer is also called a Pre-Made map that includes a story or a plot towards a goal to achieve. Its main goal is called: Primary Mission. Secondary goals are called: Sub or Secondary Missions. And, in the case of MMH6, there are also Hero Quests.
That you like it or not, a Pre-Made Map is a Scenario. Some of these Scenarios also include a quick and sudden ending as when no remaining opponent exists and, no enemy neutral hero with a neutral army remains on a specific location onto that very same Scenario.
A Squirmish map has only one goal or Primary Mission: Defeat all Faction based established town like civilizations that is not yours to command(X number of Human or AI players). Squirmishes are generally fan based map-editor or RMG made maps with absolutely no stories, secondary missions or, quests.
I do hope that zounds of players get to read and fully understand these cold hard facts about TBS games such as Might and Magic Heroes.

@ LucPatenaude: Thank you very much for your explanation, but still I think this is a very subjective point of view - or rather we have quite a different understanding of what a scenario is.
Let me give you the example here in the game:
When you enter custom game you can select Skirmish, Scenario or Duel. Selecting "Scenario", only one map appears (Heart of Nightmares). If you start this map you will see these elements that define a Scenario-map for me:
- you have a well-defined plot
- you have cut-scenes/dialogues
- you have a pre-defined hero or city
- every 2 or 3 turns you have a special event
So, concludingly, a scenario map is very similar to the in-campaign missions.
I tested also some skirmish maps, and while they maybe have different objectives, I couldnīt discover any plot or cut-scenes or whatsoever. To me the skirmish maps in Heroes 6 are exactly the same (not from content, but style) as in Heroes 3 to 5.
Greetings,

Just as an fyi, I don't think the extra scenario (heart of darkness or whatever) is worthy of paying extra for, even though it is pretty incredible. At the very least, it is a beautifully designed map. The visuals are superb.
However, in my mind it is lacking in the content department and is over far too quickly. Here's hoping that we see more maps of that quality in the months to come.
