Poll Question:
[POLL] What is the real problem with Pirates of the Savage Sea?

Time for a follow up poll. My original topic has given some clear signs that that a sizable part of the voters are either hesitant or disinterested in purchasing Pirates of the Savage Sea but what I failed to make clear(which I only realized later) was whether the issue was the price or something else that gets in your way such as concerns over game stability, a matter of principle or any other kind of personal peeve. For those who have expressed a lack of interest I would like to ask whether it is the price that rebukes you or you were not interested in an adventure pack in the first place.

Assuming that 1.5 proved a worthwhile addition to the game and fixed a high amount of the issues we have all complained about(balance of units, stats, spells, improvements on skill efficiency so that they are fun or useful to pick etc), would that change the way you regard this DLC? Would that pick your interest?

That I believe is a much more relevant question, one that could confront Ubi with the real face of the problem. The truth is usually in the middle and not everything is possible but.. who knows? I believe in the voice of the community, it can send a powerful message that is hard to dispute.

Not interested. My issue is that the game is dull and boring and no matter how many DLCs they'll make, that won't change since I don't like many of the game mechanics.

...That the just-one-more-mine feeling is missing, and it would take a lot more than a simple DLC to bring it back. (Plus all the things I mentioned in the other thread.)
That said, I might give the patch a shot, and I fervently hope that Limsoft will give us awesome expansions in the future to rekindle the dormant flame of my passion for HoMM.

I think that main problem is... price!
Heroes VI is playable and giving a lot of fun which will be more with 1.5 patch.

Be lucky, Ubi!

No, I'm not interested since the problem I have with H6 cannot be fixed by a patch. This resulted from the various communities Q&A where they said they cannot change the face of the game but reduce the handicap. Things which will not be solved by patch: simultaneous turns, random map generator, important design issues ( shallow and boring skill trees, magic system).

I do not know the exact status of fan made maps. I remember they implemented this feature in patch 1.3 but I observe a lack of such maps and I don't know the reason: is it because the community is almost dead or because this feature was not exactly implemented as I thought and maps cannot be played in MP but only in Skirmish? If the latter, then this is also something Ubisoft should think about before trying to release new Heroes products.

Ubihole exploits the favorite heroes of the HoMM fans for making money,that's a cheap and dirty strategy.And the map is overpriced.

No, not the price itself.

The problem is: The "behaviour & tactic" of Ubisoft. They try to sell us the minimum for maybe not maximum, but high price. H6 was supposed to have AcademyFaction. Where it is? Fanbase is full of unconfirmed rumors about models, music and empty place in mapeditor for this "Wizard Town". Where it is? Deleted? Maybe on BH computers?

We need to be treated right. Like great fandom... We are great fandom. Hundreds of mods, maps, campaigns... Everything's for free! From fans... to fans.

Ubi treats us like normal, one-time, mindless customers. It's a little silly, but: We need to be feed, feed well, if they want us to survive... and buy new M&M games .

Wel just for a note

We the fanbase, those who stalk and love the game bring Ubi the fame.

But those one time, buy play and go players are those who fill their bellies.

I think they gave Elvin a bribe

The game is badly designed and executed. Now the only reason why they release the actual (not cosmetic) patch is to charge even more money for a little of content.
Another campaign may be an option for story-driven FPS or RPG, but not a strategy that comes with an editor. New hero means nothing, as all the heroes are the same in H6, and new dynasty weapon is, firstly, a single item, secondly, another instance of feature failed by design.

The power of HoMM series was always an everlasting replayability. Simplified mechanics don't support it, and releasing one-shot content just emphasises the problem raher than fixing it.

Like I said in the other thread, it has very little to do with money and everything to do with principle.

To concur with the vast majority of posters, it's about the garbage that Ubisoft put out. They refused to acknowledge it's problems, never once apologized for taking our money for something that was no better than a Beta (and in some case was worse), and then expect us to shell out even more money when they haven't proven they can even fix the problems with their current product.

Heaven forbid that as a sign of good faith (no, the patches don't cut it), they give us this DLC for free to make up for the utter mess they gave us.

No, I'm still not interested. My issue is the lack of features we can use outside the campaign, specially creatures. And the fact that I can't buy a physical copy of this DLC.

HoMM campaigns are exhausting as is. I just don't have much motivation to play another one when I'm far, far more excited for additional factions and a somewhat reworked skill system.

I think it should be the other way round, ie. not buy anything unless they prove it's good quality product! At least I don't buy things just because I can, I buy things that deserve their price.

Sure it would, if the game by itself becomes really fun to replay.

Not interested. Reasons being:

1) I don't pay for extra content for a broken game. IF 1.5 fixed most of the issues plaguing the game, this would not be an obstacle. I would still feel discouraged by 2);
2) Price is too high for what's being offered. I would not pay more than half as much for a DLC like this one. Yet, even if its price was lowered, 3) remains;
3) I'm burnt out by Ubisoft and their mishandling of their game and customers. I just can't shake off the notion of them repeating their misconducts in the future, and I don't see how supporting UBI by buying an overpriced DLC will prevent it.

I would have taken a free DLC as a gesture of good will and them trying to make amends. But the opposite has happened: They are charging what I consider too much, for too little.

I can only read these signs as they not caring enough to gain me back. And maybe, from a bussiness standpoint, they are right to do so. Be that as it may, I hope the franchise survives and prospers. Not for UBI or the developer in turn, but for the loyal and resilient fans. I'm definitely on their side.
