The point is that if everyone could just give one ****, not even two **** about the future of the planet we could all benefit. Whether it be your offspring or mine. I am not some radical that believes we should all just put ourselves in more debt trying to do this, or I have got a flash mob together to save the birds.

Thats the point "IF". The problem is that people are no going to care about this because, obviously, there are more important issues to worry about that affect you now, such as the high prices for everything.

The problem is very similar to the anecdote in the link, the only difference is that people in the future will have to face that.

I just feel like when you have an ideology of, "Why should I care when I am dead!" Well then you are just swimming in your own selfishness and stupidity.

Why that? Being excessively selfish or egoistic is promoted nowadays.
Not to mention that there is a rational reason not to care about the world past my life spam, even with children.
Once I am dead, so is this reality to me.

Why care now if its not affecting me? Its the same as somebody with benign cancer. If it is not going to affect your life, why care?

If that's the case then do you feel that way about everything.  Which if that's what you want to do by all means keep swimming, be careful though you may drowned.

So, high prices for a mediocre living standard happen because people dont care about that? No,no,no,no... People care about money more than anything else.

As for the global warming and such, I really dont care about that,I thought I cleared that up?

I can't comprehend how you can be so shellfish.

I hate the Green Party in my country, but I still try to do small stuff for the enviroment. And all that small stuff adds up.

yeah, of course people care about money, but in a way, that's their choice to live mediocrily. when at the elections, they vote so that the richs keep all their privileges and powers over them.
they could just say, we want the power, we want the money, but no, they vote against that idea. they prefer the richs robbing them with those national debts (not that they have any idea of what it really is)

No, it does not. The main problem with the "Green wave" is not the goal, its the achivement of the goal. Either its a minority party, or a movement. The movements main method of achiving their goal is by indoctrinating the younger generation into beliving small things will help. The problem is that for the rest of the problem solving its usualyl grasping for straws.
For instance, a common thing is that the minority group affliciates with the political educated top on some manner, which then promptly will state that things will get done. The problem IS that nothing gets done. Perhaps a little will be done to get the industry to calm down a little, but nobody will do things like starting major funding of nuclear techology or halting gas export or actually pressure the non commited nations such as USA or China into actually doing something.

First up: Stop doing the small things for the enviroment, they don't matter at all. Doing so will also give the Greens more fuel to say they succed, and it will then be used in further scapegoating top politicans to agree in some sort of rainbow display.

Secondly: Do major things if you. Use electrical heating, get a less polluting car if such a thing actually exists for your driving habits. Mantain your lawl, plant a tree. Stop donating to rainforest funds unless they have a proven history of actually achiving more than posterboy items.

And finally lets write a little about what is "major items" for the enviroment:
-Factory pollution
-Coal
-Export and use of natural gas, also mining
-Power plants not using green energy or nuclear
-Chopping of rainforest in large scale for financial gain(mostly a ecological issue and not a enviromental one)
-Claiming to be green
-Natural solar cycle
-Pillaging capitalism(then again, its not the 1600s anymore)

All of these issues require heavyhanded political action, which likely won't exist under any western political system for quite some time.

I do agree with the fact that we need to do something big or the little things keep them right.

Intertwined? Perhaps the US, the rest of the planet is quite different. Some countries are affected by american culture, but thats really it, nothing more.

You should know that the word "Ignorant" is a double edged sword in this case and shows your own ignorance.

I dont see how this has anything to do with climate. Countries that are in the EU,generally support the US even if they dont like to. Other countries, in the east especially, hate the US. I dont see how countries got "Derailed" when they never conformed to anything dictated by the UN or the west. The same goes with a global climate agenda.
Let's face it, green energy is too cumbersome for the countries that seek economic growth-supremacy like the US,China,Russia etc.
And we all know how useless the UN is when it comes to coming to agreements...

Like what? The least you could do is vote for parties with "Green" energy plans, even in the face of economic crisis.
You wont be able to force green energy solutions to countries like China or Russia, they have their fair share of problems regarding human rights and disregarding environmental problems, human life for the sake of profit.

Eh, ever heard of globalization? You know the huge process that has pretty much changed the entire world and coupled with capitalism and free market, made it much richer and more peaceful?

Also, I believe that China spends the most money in the world on the enviroment.

Anyway, Serpahim. Personally I don't really get what your solution is. Ignore all the problems and do nothing just because the world's superpowers are hard to convince?

Because it was negative in a lot of areas.

of course no. as long as people have to drive for several kms to get to work and are convinced that they all need one, if not two cars, you won't solve everything.

There is no double edge sword here, are you being serious that you don't feel that other countries are intertwined with the US. Mexico and China being the two largest economies that we swim with. Not just referring to our climate and how we depend on fossil fuels, but our currencies our all intertwined. Please school yourself before spewing out stupidity.

Most people are already at their minimum regarding cars. And manifactuers keep on making them more fuel effective. So for most people, this bulletin point is not even relevant. And because fuel costs money, its roughly selv regulated.

And even if? There exists boats that pollute the amount of 4-5 million 90s cars, and we all love the globalization of the boat traffick. Boats are a major threat, as is non green powerplants with the exception of nuclear. There is nothing we can do as citizens besides unlawful and immoral actions to rig the system, the same way corporations and lobbies usually attempt to.
