Grotto object in ERA (idea taken from HotA)
When I downloaded HotA 1.0 I was very interested in one town structure from Cove town, called Grotto. Players could trade their creatures for artifacts. However it was removed from HotA 1.1 due to bugs, the way of implementation and gameplay balance so I decided to create Smuggler's Grotto object, where you can trade creatures for artifacts, for ERA.
Creature amount is calculated by this formula

Need your opinion:
1. What do you think of the formula? Creature value is calculated the same way it is calculated in freelancer's guild on map.
2. In what cases would you trade creatures for artifacts? I am now thinking to teach AI to use this object, but I currently have no idea how to do this.

I know usually the cost is too high and the artifact is not worth the creatures. But what about 41 skeleton warrior for spirit of oppresion?

Well,isnt it funny when you have 500 harpies you get for them Dimention Door and Fly included?
So for <1000 of them you equip two of your heroes with game breaking advantage?

Nicely done, thanks. In my opinion it is completely useless for random maps, no one except necro will trade creatures for artefacts because we are always short on creatures. But could work on custom maps, why not. But objects should be disabled for AI, it is already heavily penalized, taking creatures for him for a probable useless artefact will not do any good. Or give him a random treasure if visited and disable for one week, like emerald tower does.
You forgot to remove test dialogs when right click on artefacts or is that way should be?

Yup, forgot this one. Download updated version. I'll try to add a dialog for trading artifacts to creatures (I now started a WoGified map and on day 3 I have a barbarian with scroll of summon boat, spirit of oppression and hourglass of the evil hour and no place to get rid of them.)
EDIT: Finally finished. All links updated. I kind of not like the formula to calculate how many creatures can be bought for artifact, but I guess it'll have to do for now.
The formula looks like this:
All the fractions involving creature level were added to reduce amount of peasants and other cheap creatures.

Everything ok, but... where do I enter to active grotto? It's a new object? Or did you replace an old one?

I did not add anything to replace existing objects, so you'll have to place the grotto yourself. It is 4th cave of the new WoG caves listed in town tab in editor.

So it wont pop up in random maps? i like this new structure, thanks for it. maybe relic artifacts should be excluded though, like in black markets and merchants.. a hero with diplomacy will crush anything with this.

I already played with in random map, set it to replace 10% of remaining shrines, got cca 3 of them on XL map. But used another subtype, 63/56 because sizes did not match.

when we were talking about the articifer you said it is very hard to change the spawn ratio of buildings since it is buried in thousands of lines of code. have you discovered a way to walk around that?

Is not hard, just a value change. But then one will complain why was changed, so better redo it from scratch as independent mod. And then it may be hard.

The grotto don't work with Sagamosa. Specifily this archieve: dl buttons fix.bin
Don't know how to fix this.

First, grotto is just a script, to make it work on random maps you will have to do several modification. For example, in my modification I set it to replace 10% of remaining shrines after wogification and I got 2-3 on XL map.
Second, never combine any mod with Sagamosa. Is not even working alone so far and is more of a source of inspiration for modders than a valid mod.

I also wanted to replace the object cause object 63/60 looks awful on snow/lava/forest terrain. Since it's no longer called Grotto, i think object 60/7 is perfect for this, i replaced all 63/60 in the script with 63/7, checked with Total commander, there are no 63/60 in the script, but i get this:
Also, is it possible for this (object 60/7) to replace Dwarven Tresauries, Crypts and Mystical Gardens? I have too many Artificiers in random maps with my current settings, I want this to balance it, yet not too much, in a large map with no underground, 2 or 3 Smuggler's Hideout is fine, 4 is accaptable, 5 is too many.
