Is there really only one GUI mod floating around?
Don't much care for a few of the minor GUI changes that comes with Wog (Era 2), so thought to replace the whole GUI with something better. Only found one advertized GUI mod that really didn't seem to work well (besides having an ugly blue/red color scheme it either didn't install properly, or was very unpolished).
So the question is, are there other GUI mods available, and if not, how hard is it to extract one of the GUI's that comes with some other mod for standard (wog) use?
Thanks.
PS - As an aside, the item description for the (enhanced) statesman's medal says it can be used to build things, but I cannot figure out how to do this. Any tips would be appreciated

Nonsense. GUI is a set of images and defs in pacs. When you have the image, making a mod is a few seconds. Moreover, the complexity is the same as it was for original Heroes 3 developers.

It took several people almost 2 years to replace the interface, it is a lot of work. Why do you say is not working well, I tested it and all fine. We talk about new interface mod, are we?
Visit a town when wearing statesman medal, it will ask you something. Sometimes it upgrades a dwelling, other times does nothing.

It isn't exactly that much work, actually, but very boring. The people who worked on the "NIM" were actually really active and made a lot of progress in the first few weeks, but apparently all just got bored or were too busy to keep up the work.
I, myself, have wanted to make new interfaces for the game, now that it's so easy with ERA, and actually have done some screens. It is fun for a while, but takes some time.
"UI" as I understand, means user interface, which is why I don't understand Warmonger's post. No offense, but "Get over it." isn't the best answer for a new member that may not know about this stuff. Of course, mods in general may not always work. But since ERA it has became so easy, and as I understand Bersy has packed most of the current ERA mods, so they shouldn't be buggy (unless you mix them, of course ).
Re-skinning the interface is easy, but to the GUI, also belong the positions on the screen of skill icons, hero portraits, text and other hard-coded features, and those can't be moved (at least easily). So the interface isn't that customizable.

I found a darker .pal for player colors that I rather like, but ERA 2 replaces the icons for some things (like resources) and I like the originals better. I figured that instead of figuring out how to undo that change I would look for a better set someone else made.

Not Era, but WoG mod. Run Era Start Menu => MMArchive (snd/vid/pac editor). Open Mods\WoG\Data\hmm35wog.pac in it and look through files. Delete those you don't like.

Deleting the resource bar caused a crash, and replacing it with the default one puts the numbers in the wrong place. Oh well, at least I got rid of the WOG on the minimap between turns. Thanks.
