Either Im doing something wrong or the computers cheating.
Ive played HoMM for a long time, mostly 1-3. 4 and 5 didnt live up to 3 like I thought they would. Id say heros 6 is close but it seems like even on easy (just learning the changes) the computer is cheating. In one game after about 2-3 weeks the computer had done around 30-40 battles vs my 9 yet they still managed to take less troop losses then I did. Its not just on one map, it seems to be on all of them.
Theres one small map where its almost perfectly balanced on either side yet the computer will still steam roll me pretty fast. Ive tried building more unit producing buildings to keep up and that ends with me not having enough gold to recruit them. Ive tried focusing on an economy, then I have to much gold and not enough troops. Ive tried a mix of both and still come up short.
So does the computer really cheat? Cause Ive read that on easy the computer receives less monsters then it would on normal.
And what are some good tips for heroes 6 if Im going to continue to work at getting better?

I haven't tested out fully how it cheats, but yes it does. I didn't think it did on easy though. Maybe when you say "it receives less creatures than on normal", it means from cheating alone (and still has the normal creature growth).
Improve your tactical skill, which will save more of your troops and more importantly will enable you to scavenge for more ressources with less troops. Getting all the troops you need is fed a lot by simply scavenging everything on the map.

It can see the whole map, it knows where your hero is ending his turn (i.e. whether you intend on running or fighting), levels faster and it starts with more resources,. It also wins combats vs neutrals with fewer casualties than auto-combat. I know in the past they have also received extra resources as the game progresses, get discounts on purchases, were able to see which neutral stacks will join them, and they grew more units per week than they should, I don't know if they do this in H6 and if so on which difficulties. There also suggestions they hit the gate more often and get lucky strikes and morale more often. Cheating is also implemented in map triggers in single player and campaigns, where by the map itself gives them scripted advantages.

Some tips: try to push your play as much as you can, as opposed to being casual. Get creature production up as fast as possible, go for the resources based on need, generally be aggressive, and repeat battles so that you almost never loose troops. With Reinforcements cast on a stack that charges in first, and a few healing spells, you should be able to beat about half of your battles with no losses on regular difficulty.

It doesn't just grow more creatures per week, they pop up for free. This one time while I was recording (it's past midnight and can't be bothered to check now, maybe later, but it's on my Youtube somewhere) I captured an orc town in the blood finale on the last day of the week (if I remember correctly). The game glitched out and gave me a full orc army a little later the next week (like 1rst or 2nd day of the week). Weird glitch, but I took that as a little CPU cheat failure.

If you are talking about a campaign it doesn't count. They have scripted extra growth to avoid overwhelming them with army from multiple towns. Sharka comes to mind..
In regular maps though this does not happen. I'm surprised that easy can challenge anyone, I didn't think it would have more than minor cheats. If there is one tip I can give is focus more on your hero - the higher your level, the more success you will have against the AI. A good way to start is pick skills that will speed up your creeping and reduce your losses.
I'll ask about AI cheating when I get the opportunity.
