That is a personal opinon
They were the second most fun for me. On the other hand I found academy boring as hell, so people have different tastes.
But they are the most overlookd faction. every other faction has been or is going to be in 2 games or more...

Like I said before, I hope it's not dwarves, unless it is Dwarves vs Dark Elves (Though I'd rather Sylvan Elves vs Dark Elves)

I would agree with this. Fortress was my second favortite faction, only just loosing from Stronghold. (Both in Heroes 5&3) And i would love to see them return. Especially since the Compendium is hinting at a less Dwarf-heavy Fortress this time round. Even though I hardly minded that the first time round.
But the overlookedness has much more to do with it being very new. Only Sanctuary is newer.

If this is what the Twitter of Sandro's prophet dream was about, then I must say, I'm rather proud of my deduction a few posts back.
And yes, the anouncement is rather a blurt. But then again, I'm happy to have an expansion to look forward to and one released pretty soon at that.

I'm surprised they announced this now if the expansion will be released only in March or later.
Well, at least I will have something to talk about when they release the artworks of the new creatures, since I still don't have the game.

Did Erwan not state in some interview somewhere, that Dungeon without a Dragon would not be Dungeon at all? I think it was the polish fanday. But it might have been Julien, who said that, but still. I'm fairly certain that something like that was stated somewhere.

I said that only one unit can be champion in Dungeon, not that re-coulored Darkness Elemental will be the one.

I understand now, that the "only on creature can be a Dungeon Champion", meant it can only be BDs.
But What do you mean by a speaking about recolord elementals? Sure they did this twice already, but now they show us an artwork of a Faceless and an upgreade faceless.
So do you think that they will be Both the faceless and the Recol-elemental as Elites? Or do you mean that Faceless model is just a recolord Darkness elemental? Boy I'm stupid today.
Also the official speculation can begin.
With a little help from War-overlord, who can provide information about wich cratures are associated with dungeon, we can start putting our bets on, what units will be part of dungeon?
My bet
Core: common Darkelf, Minotaur, Beholder/shadow lurker
Elite: Mistress, Faceless, Maticora
Champion: Dragon

Not in so many words, but the Compendium states that Minotaurs are about on-par with Centaurs, which would make them Elite, not Core.
Which would make, I suspect:
Core: Shadow Lurker, Dark Elf 1(archer?), Dark Elf 2(infantry?)
Elite: Faceless, Minotaur, Manticore
Champion: Black Dragon.

I mean that Faceless use basic model of Darkness Elemental - just look at his and Darkness Elemental "legs". Faceless has new skin, but probably is built on DE model, same as Thunderbird and Dragonwraith use existed unit models. And not forget that Ghoul, Tormentor, Maniac use the same model.

Ok. I understand Spring spirit/Glory and Water/light elemental topic.. that was and still is a problem. It is not nice from them to just recolor things. Pheonyx/Thunder bird and Wolf/dire wolf are atleast different in size. But still no major changes in the model. (I will not mention the dragons here, due to the fact that I don't know how big the dragonwriaght is. so I cant tell if it is just a recoloring or a size+recolor)
But when more then 50% of a model are made as new, unique and different, I do not see any reason to call it a recolor

Also.. Only a blind person could say that the models of Demented, Ghul and Tormentor are copied from one model. Yes they have a similar posture, but creatures like Pretorians, maulers, succuby etc also have a similar one. Does a similar posture mean they are copied?
Eache of them moves, attacks and stands in a very different way = each has a pesonal set of anymations, with no similarities to them. So where is your point again? Is it because they lean forward in some way?

Well, if they add Scorpires and Beholders, then two H5 creatures will have to get removed. I'm leaning for the matriarchs and the witches because you could make those a Magic and Might hero upgrade. On the other hand I dont recall seeing Assassins artwork in the Compendium video but I do remember a very witch-creature looking piece.

BD's are a must. Not only fan-wise but also lore-wise. If Dragon Gods are the base of the universe it's clear for the game to have many dragons in it imo...
By the way, the thing that angers me the most about Heroes 5 or Heroes 6 is that they don't use Dragon Gods in the game. I don't see a reason why you cannot fight (or play with) godly dragons if you can fight angels, demons or demi-gods. Why do they even bother to make such nice concept arts if they won't use them in-game 
And I personally would like to see more unit types like beholders etc, then a couple of elf variants like in Heroes 5...

How do they include D&D creatures like beholders in games like HoMM in the first place?
Do they acquire the rights or something, or is it through some kind of 'fair use' policy?
