If the users start complaining via HCMs to us to do something about it, it's no longer subjective.

Yes, it is. A number of HC members who complain via HCM doesn't represent the opinion of all of HC. I think it is worth discussing HC:s legal system. Due to huge amount of subjectiveness that it promotes, I think it's an incredibly flawed system.

Instead I think it is incredibly permissive and generous system, hence has to put some thin limits. Please point me any other gaming forum where you can just post what's going through your head at that moment and not get banned asap.

Indeed, the forum is highly tolerant to spammers, trolls and other unworthy of an IP address things on the Internetz. I'd handle the things more harshly myself.

On the Scrolls of Lore forums I can say whatever the frack I want as long as it's not obvious that I'm some kind of chinese bot or something.
The idea of even having a CoC that is built around subjective judgement baffles me.

This is a community, I cannot in good conscience let a few spammers/trolls ruin it for the rest and I believe same goes for the rest of the squad. As for being flawed that comes with being a human

If HC was a democracy or a market economy, I would not have voted for or supported some of the current moderators, no. Well, HC isn't so I guess I just have to deal with that. Of course, if people reasoned like that in the real world, we would still have been ruled by Kings and Queens today.
Miru: I agree that democracy in it's current form is an extremly flawed and bad system. I'd much rather have some kind of technocratic/meritocratic, benevolent semi-dictatorship. But that¨s another topic that belong to another forum.

In this case, it was highly democratic.
The vast majority of the forum that TT posted in had complaints against him and he was always violent/ off topic in every thread he posted in. He also showed that he did not want to learn, because many members (even those that wanted him banned) gave him tips and told him ways to improve his posting habits, but TT never showed any signs of learning. Ever. We gave him weeks worth of warning and, well, the community was sick of it so we put a stop to his posting. And since in a democracy the majority is the rule, and the majority wanted him silenced (at least for a little while... until he was 16 at the earliest) it was a "properly democratic" action.
Didn't know about the threat HCM's though. That's a bit far, and deserves a bit of silencing with or without majority consent.

Quote: Why do you insist on this persistent ridicule? You made the exact same spiteful comments when you defended a former penalty of Xerox'. We know you don't like, or understand the point of, discussing forum rules. No need to be rude about it.
This statement is wrong. I do not have any problems with discussing forum rules. But you ALWAYS bring up issues of OTHERS. Like advocats do. You hardly talk about issues refering to yourself. This is the point I am talking about.
Let others talk about their issues themselves if they feel the need to. Why are you so sure they want their case to be talked of in public?

No, I dont miss that guy. Too bad that a ban does not extend to real life.
Other than that,I have a suggestion here, replace ban with nuke.
Nuking members sounds a lot more intimidating.
