Now, this is a paradox...

Poll Question:
And a year has passed...

Yup. It's been a year since I've joined. can't believe how time's passed so quickly

Anyways, I just want to complain on how you treated me and thank you for some lulz for these 12 months. Maybe I should thank Keksimaton for some nice words that made me stay here and cheer me up.
--------------------------

When I first came here, I knew nothing on how to act on the Internet forums and couldn't catch up with all of the stuff that was going on in here. A big mistake that I made was my name, because it wasn't really... serious, but, hey, I survived ((sort of)).

The first months were passing slowly, that is until I discovered that I can freely post in the discussion forums ((especially the VW)) and it's then when I've realized that HC is going to be a great experience for me. I've met some cool people, some lame people ((TT and, eh...)), some... unordinary people , etc.
Sociogram was really cool for me and it actually made me realize that I should fix my posting a lot.

Here's some feedback regarding me:

Quote:
Age is irrelevant on an internet forum since anyone can be anyone, but for Noob I gotta say he comes off as a kind of typical teenboy forumite. Seems very emotional and insecure, and I get the impression that he REALLY cares about what we think of him too, which isn't bad per say but... yeah I think one of the more important parts of growing up is learning not to care so much. So when you read this feedback Noob, do care and take it to heart, but don't let what anybody says put you down. Learn from it, adapt and move on. In fact apply that to your whole life and not just HC.
Oh and make sure not to trust blindly in the advice from internet strangers.

Quote:
He seems light-hearted, kind, and cute(as in, he occasionally reminds me of a close family member)... so he's probably an undercover secret agent working a nefarious angle. Nevertheless, he may grow to be a pillar of the community in the years to come.

This actually made me rethink my actions on this forum and I think that I've changed a lot.

I didn't really make any big effort to gain QPs and I certainly did have moments when I could get a penality, so I couldn't be anything but a burden to this community. Nonetheless, I got the keys to the Starlite Tavern, I've made some laughs and started a very sensitive topic ((which master made into a thread, so I'm guessing you know what I'm talking about)) which almost made me go berserk ((*sarcasticly* thank you Elvin)).
TT really pushed my buttons and I could literally hire assassins to take him out and I had troubles being silent ((which I couldn't do in the end)).

But I survived - yes, I did survive the death chamber called HC for a year. Who'd think that noob could get so far? ^^

I also received some good advices from different members and for that I am grateful!
I see that HC can be awesome place to talk to others.

Still blame me for the random penalizing? Should have seen the tortures that pandora put me through, I still have nightmares of that fateful day.

No congratulations on your survival skills as one year is too little, however you have sincere congratulations for evolving into the poster you are today and the one you aspire to be tomorrow. I think those two quotes were fairly accurate and it is clear that you have learnt a few things since. But you know what they say, the best is yet to come

So is the worst for that matter

PS: Noob, the time is not yet come to congratulate You. Once You shed your inner noobness, I will be among the first to do so, but until then, just take it one day at a time.

At this age you're no more than a semi-sentient spambot yearning for attention - and that's still normal (don't worry, very few escape that stage). In the next few years you'll evolve into something else, question is what exactly. This forum for example has a few instances of advanced spambots who/which are yet to satisfy their thirst for attention and quite a few instances of humans on the Internetz having casual discussions (and occasionally fights) about something. Follow the majority.

Thanks guys. I really didn't think that I'd last a year ((neither did you, so hands down)) and I must say that I'm not surprised by your reactions. It's been only a year and this is just a start - a start of a HC meme ((you know, like Namus, but a lot more noobier ))

Anyway, this place has grown on me.
You know the Jersey Shore? No one knew anyone and yet they've lived together for quite a lot. Why? Because they had fun ((and PG18+ stuff which I won't comment)) and they've stayed together even in the toughest situations.
It's the same with HC - very few members know other members in RL, yet we made a bond over the Internet. I'm just happy that I didn't quit early like most of the newbs do today ^^
