Black screen before battles.
Hi all I've recently been trying H6 again and I'm getting black screens every couple battles, right before the battle starts.
My rig:
Intel Quad i5-3570k 4.0ghz
GeForce GTX 670 2gb
Corsair Vengeance 8gb RAM
Fully updated drivers.
Any idea?
God I cannot believe this game is still SO buggy after 8 patches.

Yeah, I have an idea. (My system specs are quite similar to yours, btw - same videocard, similar Intel CPU.)
This is a known issue. Music keeps playing, yes..?
It seems to be caused by running web browsers tabs with Adobe Flash ads or videos in them.
Try closing all web browsers you have. If you have instant chat apps that use Flash, close those too - I think Skype does not use Flash, but ICQ and/or AIM do.
What is your Windows version, by the way?

When I played I didn't have anything tabbed, just the game itself.
This is getting weird, I want to play the game but every 10 minutes or so the game just hangs.
It goes black screen before battles or hangs on townscreen.
If this isn't fixed I'm asking for a refund because it's impossible that any game will not run on a gaming rig like this... especially after 8 patches.
I have Win 7 ultimate x64 btw.
If you have any advice please tell me.

Closing all web browsers helps for me for issue #1 (Black screen on attacking a town/fort or neutrals).
For issue #2 (Town screen freeze), which in fact happens in the Hero screen too sometimes, the only good solution for now is to uninstall your current GeForce video card drivers (I assume you use latest or fairly recent drivers), and use the Nvidia GeForce drivers from May 2012. If you play other games too, using that very old driver may not be best option, but at least Heroes VI does not freeze with it.

By May 2012 drivers are you referring to the 301.42 drivers from 22.5.2012?

Yes, Nvidia GeForce drivers version 301.42. Using those seems to fix the problem for most players.
I am not using them, and suffer the occasional freeze (not so occasional if I use the Marketplace often ).

I installed those drivers and I didn't have any more problems, thank you for the help.
